Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Polzeath - White Rose

3 bedrooms: double,2 twins, one overlooking open country.2 bathrooms. Sleeps 6.

White Rose is located on the lovely North Cornwall coast between the surfing beach at Polzeath and the beautiful beach at Daymer Bay, ideal for families with young children.

Converted from a bungalow to a house in 2015, together with a major makeover, the accommodation includes a spacious and bright open plan kitchen/living room area looking out on to a sheltered enclosed garden. Downstairs there is a double and a twin bedroom, plus a family bathroom. Upstairs there are two further bedrooms, one a twin with adjoining shower room for use by guests, and the other which is kept for use by the owners of White Rose. Additionally there is a seating area on the landing with a TV point, ideal for chilling out! Equipped with wi-fi, there is a TV and DVD in the sitting room area, and duvets, blankets, pillows and tea towels are all provided.

There is off-road parking for four cars leading to a porch for putting coats, shoes, beach gear or even a folded pushchair. In the garden there is a decking area and a built-in BBQ, and a combination of hedges and shrubs provides a welcome level of privacy.

Within walking distance of White Rose are shops in Polzeath, pubs and restaurants, plus the beautiful North Cornwall coastal path. Besides swimming at Polzeath Beach, Daymer Bay is excellent for windsurfing and kite surfing, and nearby Rock provides opportunities for sailing and water skiing. St Enodoc and The Point at Polzeath golf courses are both within 10 minutes' drive, and cycling along the Camel Trail is a lovely way of spending a day out.

The perfect city gettaway!

  • 5 of 5

White Rose is in the perfect spot, walking distance to everything you need so you barely need your car once you've arrived. The house is bright, spacious and sparklingly clean. It was great to get out of London (only a 4.5 hour drive or you can fly to Newquay and hire a car there) and spend days walking on the beach, pub lunches and the requisite trip to Padstow for fish & chips and fudge. Iain was extremely responsive and helpful - we will be renting it again!

Owner's Response: Delighted to hear how much you enjoyed White Rose. We like to think of it as a family home as much as a holiday home. Please join many other families who come back year after year.

WOW!!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! - On returning to White Rose after its refit, we were not sure what we would find. We had holidayed before at the bungalow (White Rose) and had loved everything about it. Its comfortable, homely feel, its proximity to one of Cornwall's best beaches (Polzeath) and the amazing coastal walks just across the way, round to Daymar Bay and Rock. White Rose has been extensively refitted and extended into the roof, and the transformation is amazing. We were met by an open plan living space with a fantastic new kitchen, and bright, modern living/dining space with windows on three sides. The new upstairs twin bedroom and bathroom are a great addition to the two original bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor. What a relief, White Rose has lost none of its charm and we cant wait to get back again soon. Well done, Iain and Ros!!

Lovely house, perfect holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We (2 adults, 2 children,2 dogs), had a wonderful fortnigt at White Rose. This was our second visit and the recent renovations have transformed this bungalow into a 2 storey property. the inside has been completely refurbished (as shown in the photos) to a high standard and is very well-equipped and comfortable. we initially chose this property as it has an enclosed private garden-a must for our 2 dogs. there is also a shower attachment on the outside tap which is perfect for hosing down the dogs, wetsuits and children! The house is in a perfect position for an easy walk into Polzeath and to Daymer Bay, (a dog-friendly beach.)

Thanks to Ros and Iain for the welcome tea, milk and biscuits on arrival.

Owner's Response: We are delighted that the conversion of White Rose to a two storey house is proving very popular with our guests (and family members!). It is lovely to welcome new people as well as those who keep returning.

wonderful stay at white rose

  • 5 of 5

We & our two dogs had a lovely week at this very comfortable cottage. The location was great, tho the village itself is not exactly picture postcard it was easy to get to places such as Boscastle, Tintagel (both gorgeous), Padstow, Rock etc. We also walked the coast path to Port Isaac, hard going in parts but stunning all the way!Daymer bay is a lovely easy walk away & a spectacular dog friendly beach , ours loved it ! The cottage itself was clean and well equipped, though be aware the only wardrobe was in the twin room. As we took bed linen for the double we used the twin as a dressing room so not a problem for us as we were only two people. The garden is great, very private and we spent a lot of time on the decking, we had great weather though! The furniture in the living area was very comfortable too, as was the bed but I found the bedroom a little claustrophobic. Ros and Iain were very helpful any quick to respond to any queries. We had another week on the south side afterwards and when we got home our deposit cheque was waiting, along with a lovely note.

A wonderful week at White Rose

  • 5 of 5

We go to Cornwall every summer, usually staying in B+Bs, but this year we wanted to have our own space and so decided upon White Rose. We were so happy with our choice! When we arrived there was some fresh milk in the fridge and some lovely biscuits, tea and coffee ready for us which made us smile and feel at home straight away. The house was clean and tidy, and we were totally happy with the description as it matched up perfectly.

The house was so convenient for the beach and this was a must with one of us being a keen surfer. We walked to Rock almost every day. It is about a 5 minute walk from Polzeath beach and shops so we could just pop out for an ice cream or a coffee if we felt like it. There was enough space to park at least 3 cars, we only had one but it was great to have so much room. We managed to have 2 BBQs in the huge garden. The only downside was that the weather wasn't brilliant so we didn't get to use the garden as much as we would have liked. We found some great places to eat nearby; The Blue Tomato Cafe in Rock with amazing burgers that we keep talking about a month on and great coffee during the day; The Rock Inn also in Rock, where they did a magnificent treacle tart, never had better in our lives; Rojano's in the Square which is in Padstow is a delightful Italian and the food was top notch with a great atmosphere. We got the ferry over to Padstow during the day, but on the evening drove round as the ferry stops at about 6pm in July. We loved the coffee at Cone Zone down on the beach at Polzeath so would also recommend that.

Back to the house: The lounge has some really comfy chairs; sort of like rocking chairs, and we were so impressed we wanted to buy some of our own for our own houses! It has a homely feel and is cosy on the evenings, then light and airy during the day. Really there was everything we needed and more. The kitchen is well-equipped with quality dishes, cups and plates which was important because it showed attention to detail.

The house is big enough for 4 people in our opinion and would be perfect for families with children with that garden, as it is so safe and secluded. Once we had returned home our deposit was sent back to us straight away, and a lovely message from the owners along with it. We would definitely stay here again, but would just hope that the weather is better next time!

Fantastic fortnight at White Rose Cottage

  • 5 of 5

From our arrival at White Rose we had a fantastic holiday from start to finish, helped by the heatwave which had spread the country. The cottage itself had everything we needed and more, including comfy beds. We enjoyed breakfast on the decking every morning in the secluded and well kept garden. The rooms were all exactly as they were shown in the pictures and we (2 adults and 3 teenagers) had plenty of room when we wanted to be together and when we wanted a little time on our own.

Polzeath was a quite busy little place with a great beach. Unfortunately while we were there the surf wasn't very good but you can't have 28 degrees and waves. The only negative to our holiday is that we couldn't take our dog onto this beach which meant if the children were surfing one of us was with them and one was with the dog. This was not a great problem because, as I have said, the surf wasn't great on many days, but had it been better then it would have been more of a problem. Vanilla does great ice-cream but I would avoid the chip shop and drive the extra couple of miles in the other direction to Rock chip shop which was delicious.

We spent most of our days on Daymer Bay and I couldn't recommend it more. It is an absolutely fantastic beach with amazing views across the estuary. I can't put into words how beautiful it was. It's only a 10 minute walk from the cottage to this beach but we took our car down a few times as we had all the usual stuff to take to the beach for the day. Only £4 to park for the day and there is a toilet and shop, which means you don't have to go anywhere else once your there.

We went for a drive round to Padstow which was a lovely fishing village. We also went to Tintagel and to the Eden Project, which were both enjoyable days out.

For shops there is a Spar in Polzeath for general resources and several little shops in Rock, including a lovely bakery. Further afield there is a Tesco in Wadebridge, and we had our shopping delivered from them on the first day. We didn't eat out any where so can't give recommendations.

Overall I would highly recommend this property and the surrounding area. It is perfect for a family holiday and the owners are friendly and helpful.
