|Minimum Stay||4 - 5 nights|
The apartment is part of a typical mountain house that lies in a quite village in Centro Cadore. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a separated well equipped kitchen, a large living room and two terraces. There is also a private garden. The apartment can host up to 6 people. The apartment has been recently renovated and it's all wooden furnished. There is an independent heating and also a wood-burning stove. The house is not far from the wood but at the same time it is near the center. There is a beautiful lake, many climbing walls and a cycle track that starting from the village of Calalzo and going across Cortina and Dobbiaco, reaches the small town of Lienz in Austria. Not far from Domegge (2km.) there is Pieve di Cadore, native village of the famous painter Tiziano Vecellio. The Centro Cadore is also famous for the site of 'Lagole' where you can find thermal springs of sulphurous water, a magnificent place once inhabited by people of Celtic origin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuJbhRwPaqc&feature=g-upl
Winter activities: Domegge is not far from famous ski areas like Cortina D'Ampezzo, Auronzo, Misurina e Sappada but there is also a less known and more quiet upland called Casera Razzo which is special for ski mountaineering, for snowshoes walking and cross country skiing. In the whole area there are a lot of cross country skiing tracks, and wonderful places for ski touring, telemark, freeriding and also a new wonderful stadium for ice skating and ice hockey. If you don't ski, there are many paths around the village of Domegge that you can cover also in winter with snowshoes, they reach some 'Rifugi' (huts), that are opened even in winter. (Rifugio Padova, i Romiti, Rifugio Ciareido, rifugio Antelao).
Spring and summer: The Dolomites of Centro Cadore are the ideal place for very rewarding trips in the middle of pure nature. One can approach the mountains in different ways by walking, Nordic walking, climbing or cycling. It is also possible to practice horse riding, mountain bike or canyoning. Hangliding and paragliding are also possible. There are no problems of landing for paragliders but for the hangliders the landing is not so easy, there are only a few possible landings.
The Dolomites: On June 26th the Dolomites have been inscribed in the world Heritage list because of their exceptional beauty and because they are very important from a geological and geomorphological point of view.
They are unique and picturesque. Especially at dawn, or at sunset, you will be amazed by the incredible variety of colours that spring from their pinnacles and ridges.
The groups surrounding Domegge are: Spalti di Toro e Monfalconi, Cridola, Marmarole and Antelao.
My name is Lucia Del Favero and I was born the 29th of November 1959. The passion of my life: the mountains. My favourite sports: climbing, walking and skimountaineering, hang gliding. I have 2 daughters: Elisa and Martina. They both love sport and the mountains.
Lucia Del Favero purchased this apartment in 2010
This property is surrounded by the beautiful eastern Dolomites that have been recognized as Human Heritage by UNESCO.
Plenty of wild magnificent landscapes to visit either walking or cycling.
The property was comfortable clean, spacious and well equipped. It was close to the village centre with a lovely bakers nearby, a small supermarket and butcher shop. We had a fantastic week here, which was helped by Lucia the owner who was so generous with her time and knowledge, she knows the area so well and helped us choose walks, cycle routes , eating places all of which we loved. The people were so friendly, and the mountains were spectacular, and we were lucky to have good weather too. My husband and my sons and I thought the Dolomites were beautiful especially Tre Cimes, which were glorious and a 'must see' for anyone who visits. We will be back- thank you Lucia for sharing your lovely Dolomites!
Very spacious, clean accommodation with easy access to the most amazing hikes around the world. Lucia went above and beyond to make the most of our stay. We had a number of positive stays on our holiday but Lucia was amazing. Lucia helped us pick awesome trips each day so we could make the most of our time and so it fit our family of five (with girls 9-14 years). Lucia is pretty fit so keep that in mind when she gives you an estimate of a hike's difficulty. We thought 5 days might be a lot but we were just getting started. Make sure you check out the mineral pools and Tre Chime. Everything was as described in the photos. We enjoyed having the extra space and being able to walk to the bakery for fresh buns in the morning. We would be back there in a heartbeat if we could get back to Italy again.
This property is very clean, spacious and quiet, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. It also has a big parking lot, which makes parking a breeze. The photos don't really do it justice!
Domegge is a very small village, but still manages to have a tasty pizzeria, a nice cafe beside the big church, a tasty pastry shop as well as a small but well stocked grocery store, where you can get what you need to make a nice meal in the apartment's well equipped kitchen.
Lucia answered all my emails quickly leading up to our departure, and greeted us at the apartment after our arrival to ensure we had everything we needed and answer any other questions.
We found that Domegge, an easy drive from Venice airport, made a great base from which to explore the surrounding areas. Lucia has a wide wealth of knowledge regarding all the hiking trails and cycling options the region has to offer and made great recommendations.
We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks in Domegge, away from the crowds and tourists. We've only been back for a few weeks but already miss the beautiful Dolomites. Thank you Lucia and Piero for your warm welcome and for making this a memorable trip!
The apartment was clean, modern and spacious for six adults and our bikes. We had a great time cycling through the Dolomites and particularly enjoyed Tre Cime and Monte Zoncolan.
Lucia and Piero helped us to find a Via Ferrata route, and it's also a beautiful area for walking and climbing.
Domegge is a small village, but we found all the pizza and pasta we needed at the pizzeria on the corner. They made us feel very welcome, and their home made grappa was very strong!
We had a really nice holiday, the apartment, the people and the mountains were all superb!
We had a wonderful stay in Domegge. The village is very authentic and not spoiled by tourists. Its very clean. The people are friendly and the village has everything you need. The pizzeria is excellent! We went back loads of times.
The area is a UNESCO heritage site and is staggeringly beautiful. Every corner offers another great mountain view. Lucia the home owner is awesome. She is very helpful with stacks of information regarding the area, walking, cycling, paragliding. You can tell she is passionate about the nature surrounding her. She will go out of her way to accommodate your needs. The house was great.
The are so many beautiful towns and villages in the area, including Cortina which is great for alpine shopping and more walks.
If you love mountains and the outdoor life this is the place for you. It is the best outdoor holiday I have been on.
There are no bad things I can say. Just go!
I wanted to go as far as we could into the mountains by train, and this place allowed us to do that (2 and a half hours by train from Venice). The village is about 3 km from the train station and the owner kindly picked us up and dropped us off at the station. We found plenty to do, just walking around the village and going to the church and lake. The owner kindly took us tobogganing one morning, and another day we took a bus to Cortina d'Ampezzo. There are also regular buses in the other direction to Auronzo.
From the apartment there are amazing views, if the clouds permit. There is a supermarket just around the corner. No restaurants appeared to be open that we could find (presumably because it was winter), but there were at least two trattoria and good bakeries in town.
It was nice to stay away from the ski resorts in a genuine mountain village. The apartment is spacious, clean and warm, and it is very good value too. There would be something to do in any season, though I would love to come back in summer and try out the walks and cycling tracks. The owner made us feel incredibly welcome and we even got to meet Dolce and Bolly (the family dogs). I would thoroughly recommend this property.
Domegge di Cadore is a typical mountain village that lies in the center of the eastern Dolomites. It is dominated by the Spalti di Toro and Monfalconi, the less known and wild Dolomites that especially at sunset will grant you a breathtaking unique view. Plenty of things to do around here from just walking peacefully in the wood or engaging yourself in more demanding trips to the mountains. You can reach the top of our beautiful pinnacles or just climb in one of the many well equipped climbing walls that you can find in every village belonging to the Centro Cadore. There is also a beautiful lake where you can hire a boat or a canoe. For the lovers of mountain bikes, there are places that hire them and there are a lot of routes for different abilities. If you want to explore the area with a guide, I can give you all the informations you need. We also organize tandem flights with the paraglider over the Alpago.

Ski: Domegge di Cadore is not far from Cortina d'Ampezzo, Auronzo and Misurina. It is surrounded by the wonderful Dolomites that have recently been inscribed in the World Heritage for their exceptional beauty and unique landscape. The mountain- groups that surround the village are: the Antelao, Marmarole, Spalti di Toro and Monfalconi. Auronzo is the nearest ski area, then there are obviously Cortina d'Ampezzo and Misurina. Cortina, Misurina and Auronzo are all part of the Dolomitisuperski area. If you want to ski in a less crowded and less expensive place, there is the upland of Casera Razzo a beautiful panoramic almost unknown location that you can reach in just half an hour by car.
