About this property

EBT (STR2019 - 0045) Enjoy a multi-family, extended family, or reunion of friends in our large well appointed home. This house can accommodate 11 guests in beds on two levels. The ground level has 3 bedrooms, living room w/gas fireplace, 2 bathrooms (Master with Jacuzzi tub), dining room (can seat 8), laundry and kitchen. The lower level walkout has 2 bedrooms, large family room with game area and a 3/4 bath. The front deck has chairs for a quiet conversation with friends. It has a large deck that looks over the water with a BBQ grill and patio set to seat 6. The kitchen is stocked with all the dishes, pans and utensils you will need to feed the crew - including a dishwasher. There is a bonfire pit below the deck and spectacular views of the placid unspoiled shores across the lake.

Summer only rental: Swim or fish from the dock. The two kayaks, row boat with electric motor or oars and a canoe are yours to explore the winding watercourses of Rennie Lake. Life preservers are required by law and available, or bring your own. Please note: Rennie Lake is an all-sports lake, but offers no public access from which to launch a boat.

Love this place

This is now our 3rd time staying at the property and every time we fall more in love with it. The waterfront is gorgeous and the home is so cozy. We cant wait for next year to come again. Thank you for your kindness and welcoming us to your house.

Traverse '60s Reunion

We met near Traverse City to watch the horse show. We are a group of older women who rode together in the 1960s. This was our fourth reunion. The house was great our reunion and we plan to recommend it in the future.

Enjoyable Week (#3)

This was our third year with family (6 adults/2kids) and we had another nice time. The house had room for everyone. Grandkids enjoyed fishing and going on the rowboat, as well as visiting the parks, splash pad, Mission Point, Dunes, renting pontoon boat (Spider Lake) and more in the area. Adults enjoyed the wineries, golf, tennis at the park nearby, several restaurants. Lorena and Jeff are great hosts and were very attentive.

Jeff and Lorena live down the road a bit in summer, and have recently relocated permanently to Northern Michigan to be closer to family and friends who live here. We enjoy exploring the outdoors, swimming, hiking, biking, boating, fishing, skiing and any other excuse to be outdoors. We bought this house as an investment in our future, and now live here in the north full time. We look forward to the opportunity to make your time in northern Michigan as rewarding and special as we have always found our own experiences to be.

We go out of our way to provide for your needs so you can relax and enjoy your vacation time here. The seclusion of the home, with easy access to the pleasures of Traverse City and the surrounding areas make this a perfect vacation spot for you and your family and friends. There are two very special opportunities during TC summers, the National Cherry Festival (July 2-9, 2022) and the Traverse City Film Festival (late July-Early August). Both are worth time in Traverse City to appreciate. Come explore!

What makes this property unique

The fact that this home is on a quiet branch of Rennie Lake connected to but separated from the busier, more populated areas is a plus. The location is steps away from hiking trails on state land and it is a wonderful place to "get away from it all" in every season. The proximity to undeveloped land makes your view of the lake spectacular - no other cottages or homes can be seen. Even your neighbors to the left and right have maintained a privacy screen of native trees and plants. The house is big enough to accommodate your extended family, a place for kids down, adults up, or space to separate families with shared space in the living areas upstairs. In addition, it is close enough to make Traverse City easily accessible. You will love the chance to explore the area again and again.
