One of the Best Decisions of our Trip!

  • 5 of 5

Our trip to London was amazing and one of the best choices we made was staying at this property! First, Nic and Nicky were wonderful to work with. They always responded quickly to questions before our trip and were very accommodating with our arrival and departure needs. In our final minutes before leaving, we had a missing passport issue and it was Nicky who came in, calmed things down and helped us to retrace the missing document. We cannot thank them enough!

Second, location, location, location. The Pump House is right next to the Canada Water tube station. A short walk and we could get anywhere we wanted in the city. Or to the airport to fly in and out and even to fly to Dublin for a day! In walking distance was a mall, 2 groceries and restaurants. Our favorite place became Leadbelly's Kitchen and Bar, very close by with delicious food and a friendly staff. Say "hi" to Joel the Bar Manager for us.

Finally was the space that the Pump House allowed us. Traveling in our group were three friends, one with her 16 year-old daughter, One with her 13 year-old son, and one traveling alone. We each had a bedroom to ourselves and there were plenty of bathrooms so no one ever had to wait. But above the privacy this allowed us, and which we could get at a hotel, we had a common meeting area to discuss the day's adventures or the plans for the next day. We always ate breakfast in, saving some money and were able to buy and store snacks to carry with us during the day. This allowed us to save both money and sometimes the day, when one of us needed a pick me up before moving on.

In our final days in London, we all said how when we came back, the Pump house would be our number 1 choice in accommodations.

Owner's Response: We absolutely loved having you Kate and your lovely family. Lovely meeting you all! You were the perfect guests and we would have you back here at the Pump House any time. Thank you for respecting the house and leaving it in such good shape on your departure. We hope the memories you experienced here in London and at the Pump House were sensational and that they remain great talking points for years to come. Nic, Nicky and Lily

Perfect location, accommodations and hosts!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 stayed here for a family vacation. The location was perfect, just steps from the Canada Water Tube station. The home was very clean and well appointed. The hosts, Nic and Nicky, met us at the home and walked us through all necessary instructions.

There were plenty of toiletries, which came in handy as we had to pack light for our flight from Michigan. There was also plenty of pantry goods available if you decided to cook while there.

The accommodations worked great for our family. The first floor has a bedroom, bathroom and living area with a pull-out sofa. The second floor has the kitchen, eating area and living room. The third level has two bedrooms with a bathroom. The fourth floor has the master bedroom (very large!) and a private bathroom. Very comfortable beds and clean, spacious bathrooms.

We would definitely stay there again if we visit London in the future!

Lovely home, amazing location!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Pump House for a week this March and had a super experience. My 2 Sisters and I took 4 high school-er daughters and nieces to do the whole Harry Potter experience. 7 women, three bathrooms - just what we needed! They said it was a great location, but that was an understatement. The property abutted the Canada Water Tube Station property. That was a true treat after spending a long day walking around London seeing the sights. You got off the Tube and were home! A grocery store two buildings down and great restaurants within a two minute walk. Nic and Nicky were delightful and super helpful when looking for restaurants and jogging locations in the village. We had a great trip and the house was clean, spacious and, again, in a great location. We discovered when leaving a drawer full of adapters so no need to stress about iPhones and hair dryers. 15 minutes by Tube to practically any part of London and the surrounding areas. We would highly recommend the house and the hosts!

Clean,modern,upmarket,affordable,secure.5 stars

  • 5 of 5

We should probably keep this to ourselves but this place was amazing. Only 2 tube stops from London Bridge (or a 20 minute walk if so inclined). Very quiet and beautiful area. Extremely secure neighbourhood. and premises. Very clean. Bus station nearby. Supermarket walking distance. A stones throw from multiple character-filled pubs lining the Thames. This place ticked every box.

The property itself was over 4 levels. Nice kitchen and dining area on second level with doors that open fully. I can imagine in Summer this would be wonderful. Small private backyard area. If you hire a bike there is easy access to the canal system for great rides through London.

There are so many wonderful little pubs nearby with so much character that you could spend a month discovering them all. We fell in love with the Archer (or was it the Arrow?) on the Thames.

If you want somewhere to stay in London, this is it!

The Perfect Stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Pumphouse was unquestionably one of the best decisions we made when deciding on our London accomodation. The House is set in a walled private estate so very quiet and felt very safe. Parking available at the Pumphouse just outside the door was an immense relief with past experiences of accomodations requiring us to finding on street parking a rel hassle.

The house is tastefully furnished with an "all you can need" modern Kitchen with a great adjoining living/dining area. Everything was clean, neat and tidy, thankfully.

We had so much room to move with three levels and we loved the option of having the little back yard to sit and relax at the end of a days sightseeing or some in our party even just had the day off and lazed in the sun.

The penthouse master bedroom on the third floor was awesome and we felt like we were kings of a very lovely "castle" when waking up each morning.

The location of the accomodation is second to none with Canada Water tube station right on the doorstep such that you could stumble into bed after a big night out when exiting the tube.......the Jubilee line is the best line in London for access to all of London in my humble opinion.

The area is historic, just a 10 minute walk to the River Thames or one quick tube ride is Rotherhithe....the pub the Mayflower is living history if anyone is interested..... and the proximity to shops and restaraunts at Canada Water and Surrey Quays was convenient +++. Canary Wharf was a snap to get to. The proximity to London City Airport was an unexpected bonus as it meant we could sleep longer and had a stress free travel to the Airport .

Overall very very happy with our stay and our large group sends its thanks to the owners for a wonderful stay. Thanks again. "The Crew"

Delightful place

  • 5 of 5

The Pump House is a very attractive property with a serene but energizing feel, I think due to its cultured décor and distinctive spacious layout. It is super comfortable with all features as described. Also to highlight is that it is quiet there and feels very safe. An excellent location for travelling about London. I found the very close proximity to public transport links very convenient- especially useful when carrying bags of goodies from London shops!

Nic and Nicky are truly kind and lovely people and I felt very happy to be at their home. I would definitely recommend.

The Pump House is a charming converted water pumping station with original features, cobbles, towers and old rail tracks located in Rotherhithe - zone 2, which is very close to central London and close to the 2012 Olympic centre. There is a large courtyard with parking available. The house has a private walk way to the Canada Water tube station (Jubilee tube line), which is less than a minute from the front door. Canada water will give you direct access to Stratford station and the 2012 Olympic Park in 10 minutes.

You will also be 15 minutes from central London - Bond Street on the same tube line.

The property is positioned between Southwark Park to the south and the Thames River to the north.

The Mayflower and Angel Pub's are also with 5-10 minutes walk from the house on the River Thames. The Mayflower ship in 1620 and it's passengers were to become the most famous Americans ever, the Pilgrim Fathers.

The Brunel Museum is also close by and shows where the first River Thames Tunnel was constructed.
