The highlight of our trip!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Yellowcraig house was absolutely unbelievable! There were 8 of us visiting from the U.S. on a golf trip and we used this as our home base for 3 nights and could not have been more pleased with everything. Every space within the home was perfect for us. The kitchen had enough seats for us to all have dinner and drinks each evening. The separate living area allowed some of us to watch TV and relax while others were playing cards in the dining room. The setup is literally perfect for a group of our size. Not to mention the two separate seating areas outside, which were awesome as well. The highlight of the house was that it was a short 5 minute walk from the beach, where we all witnessed one of the most glorious sunsets in the world. If I were being picky, the only feature missing is a pool. And that's me being REALLY PICKY and mostly driven by the fact that we had near record heat during our time at the house...but the water coming out of the North Sea was enough to cool us all off, if only for about 22 seconds :)

Thank you for sharing your home with us and I would recommend anybody traveling to Gullane/North Berwick to stay in this property if it is available!

We stayed here for a hen party- group of 16 of us. Right from the beginning the hosts were contacting us with details of our stay, let us see the property before signing up and responded to any queries via email right away.

They were so welcoming and really made us feel at home. The house is beautiful- all rooms spacious with en suite, open living kitchen/dining area connecting to outside garden/patio with beautiful garden furniture. Just perfect for socialising. We unfortunately set Eric's BBQ on fire (thats what happens when no boys are on hand to take control of a BBQ!) and he was straight round to help us out! I was expecting to pay for a whole new BBQ after that or be chucked out the property but Eric reassured us and said not to worry, and to not let it spoil the rest of our weekend! He hardly charged me anything for the complete mess we had made of the BBQ!! So kind and understanding!

The house is in the perfect spot if you want to enjoy the garden and beach as it is a very short walk down the path at the back of the garden. It is also super easy to get taxis into Edinburgh for a night out on the Saturday night which we did, and we enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at Archerfield walled gardens on the Sunday.

Honestly can't recommend this property highly enough and what lovely hosts Eric and Heather are, who will be sure to go out their way for yoU!!

Girls weekend away in the sunshine!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have had a better hen weekend away. The house was fantastic and is in the most amazing location. I have already recommended to a number of people.

Plenty of room for all 15 of us in the 6 large bedrooms each with an ensuite. Eric greeted us and made sure that we knew where everything was and got us the bbq looked out. The house was very modern and every room immaculate. The kitchen was beyond expectation with 3 ovens, 3 dishwashers and a wine fridge which could hold our 40 bottles of prosecco!

We spent most of the time in the garden as we were very lucky with the weather. The garden is lovely with 2 seating areas, so you have the sun all day.

Will be back for another visit soon!

Absolutely perfect

  • 5 of 5

I booked Yellowcraig House for my best friends hen do, after seeing such great reviews, and we were not disappointed! The house is outstanding, and Eric could not be more friendly and accommodating. He answered all my questions, and I had quite a lot! He recommend a local taxi firm, a spa, and a place to eat, all of which provided fantastic service. Thank you Eric for making a bride to be, and her 14 hens very happy!

With over 40 miles of magnificent coastline, golden beaches, rolling countryside, spectacular cliffs, award-winning tourist attractions and the world’s finest selection of links golf courses, East Lothian combines the best of Scotland in miniature! It may feel like a million miles away, but it’s only 30 minutes from Edinburgh by car, train or bus!

Visit historic Dirleton and Tantallon Castles, climb aboard a real Concorde plane at the National Museum of Flight or spot puffins and gannets at the Scottish Seabird Centre. Kids can get down on the farm at East Links Family Park or walk through the pretty woods from the property to the Treasure Island adventure play park and Yellowcraig Beach - buckets and spades provided! Mums and Dads can enjoy a trip to the Glenkinchie Distillery, and there's more golf than you can imagine with Muirfield, Gullane and North Berwick on your doorstep. A boat trip to the Bass Rock is a must do and water sports, cycling and other outdoor activities abound.

Golf: East Lothian is one of the best regions for golf in Scotland, with 22 courses offering choice to golfers of all standards and tastes. You may recognise many courses - Dunbar, North Berwick, Musselburgh, Gullane, Archerfield and The Open Championship course at Muirfield, are some of the world's oldest and most admired.

East Lothian has a just claim to being the birthplace of golf - the game was played regularly on Musselburgh Links - The Old Course - as far back as 1672. The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, who now play at Muirfield, Gaullane, has records going back to 1744, which makes it the earliest known golf club in the world.

The region offers traditional links and classic inland golf courses, many steeped in history and complimented by modern, challenging, courses. All coupled with friendly clubhouses and affordable green fees. The coastal A198 route, provides easy access for visitors and short journeys between courses.

Gullane is a world renowned name in golf. The spectacular Gullane No 1, 2 and 3 are all first class courses with superb greens and amazing panoramic views. Luffness is another terrific course famous for its long par 4’s and superb putting surfaces. Gullane is also home to The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, Muirfield.

North Berwick is home to three other top class courses - West Links, The Glen and Whitekirk.

From the property, play a different course each day but spend no more than 10 minutes in the car - ideal!
