Grade II listed, completely renovated in 2011, luxury interior, 2 and 3 bedroom

Completed in late 2011, Penwarne Manor is a collection of lovingly converted barns available to let.

Five, Grade II listed stone cottages, each one sympathetically renovated to an extremely high standard with all the modern amenities you would expect, whilst retaining the charm of an 18th century building.

The accommodation is reverse-level, allowing the open-plan living space to be flooded with sunlight and provide the best views of the sea. Quality and style exist throughout this spacious barn; Egyptian cotton sheets, fluffy towels, rain showers with Philip Stark and Duravit sanitary ware. Free BT infinity broadband available.

The barns are beautifully furnished with vintage finds nestled alongside contemporary colours and state of the art technology. They are centrally heated and have a wood burner, perfect for those winter evenings.

Outside there is a decked area with a BBQ and your own private garden, perfect for watching the sun go down with a glass of wine.

Portmellon beach is about 800m away.

We are a family of five, who live in Penwarne Manor. Our three children, Ben, Maddie & Isla all attend the local primary school and enjoy exploring the wonderful beaches on the South Coast

We have loved our stay at The South Barn. The photographs on the website are beautiful but being here has exceeded our expectations. Thank you for the lovely cake, flowers, card, delicious wine and farm shop goodies.

The beds are so comfy! Our 9 year old has had so much fun playing with the other children from the other barns.

We would recommend future guests with children visit the beach at Pentewan Sands and take a rubber ring to ride the "lazy" river into the sea! We loved The Hidden Hut and had a great day there.

It has been a fantastic holiday. The South Barn has certainly contributed to this. We will definitely be returning asap. We go home tomorrow much more relaxed.

What a fantastic place!

This was our second visit to Penwarne Manor. We have two young children and have stayed both times in the Picture Window. Our children loved the cows in the field next to the barn who often had a look to see what we were doing! Our little boys also loved the space outside and being able to run and play on the trampoline. Very modern and tastefully decorated with all the equipment and more for a two week stay. A very generous food hamper was provided with a yummy cake. The owners are great and not intrusive. It was sad to leave!

A comfortable and idyllic property

Our family (2 adults, a 1 year old and 3 year old) spent New Years week at the South Barn and found everything immaculate and very comfortable. We arrived to a generous welcome pack with local and homemade treats. The views out of every window were beautiful! The location was perfect; a pleasant 15 minute stroll into Mevagissey and less than 10 minutes down to the beach at Portmellon. Our stay was more relaxing than we ever expected it to be. We hope to return to the South Barn soon!

New Year's Break

The South Barn at Penwarne Manor is a perfect retreat any time of year. The cottage is nice and quiet but close to all amenities and spacious enough for a party of 6 plus our dog!. There was a much appreciated welcome pack of eggs, bacon, sausages, wine and luxurious brownies. The cottage has some lovely features and we settled in very quickly. The lounge area could have done with a larger sofa or another arm chair and the kitchen a little bit more equipped however such points did not deter us from enjoying our stay. There are also some lovely walks to take close by with spectacular views. The owners, Vicky and Nathan, are very welcoming and around if you need anything but not too intrusive.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback - it's really important to us. To address the seating issue raised, we've added a new chair from M&S - a lovely green colour to compliment the rest of the decor. We've also added more utensils into the kitchen. We aim to provide accommodation of the highest standard, and will respond to any issue as soon as it is raised.

Für Familien mit Kindern sehr empfehlenswert. Wunderbar ausgebaut und eingerichtet. Trampolin vorhanden. Internet sehr gut. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Hafen von Mevagissey ist 15 min zu Fuß entfernt. Guter Stützpunkt für Ausflüge. Thank you, Nathan!

Perfect place and great service from the owners

We are five ladies from Norway who stayed in The South Barn. A beautiful appartment With everything we could need. We really loved the Place and Nathan deserve a gold medal for his kindness. We travel a lot around Europe and this is one of the best Places we have been. Even the wheather was beautiful. Thanks for some wonderful days

Penwarne Manor is flanked by beautiful woods, beaches, country lanes and coastal paths. The nearest beach is Portmellon, a family friendly cove which provides a safe environment for swimmers. It also has a local pub.

The village of Mevagissey is a 10 minute walk away. Featuring numerous shops, cafes and a park. It is also one of the few working harbours in this part of Cornwall.

Within a 10 minute drive are Gorran Haven (another family friendly beach), Hemmick Beach (beautiful and unspoilt) and Caerhays Beach.

Other places to visit within an hour are St. Mawes, Padstow (great for hiring bikes to explore the Camel Trail), Newquay, Wadebridge, Falmouth, Truro and Watergate Bay. We’re ideally situated for exploring both the North and South coasts.

The Eden Project is nearby, around a 20 minute drive away. The Lost Gardens of Helligan (including the excellent Lobbs Farm Shop which sells a wide range of local, organic produce) is only a 10 minute drive away.

Golf: Carlyon Bay Golf Club - The 18-hole championship golf course is one of the finest in Cornwall and is set in breathtaking coastal scenery.

There's an attractive 9-hole approach course, a practice ground, and two putting lawns.

And if you're a novice keen to improve your swing, there are resident professionals to provide tuition.
