The Tower of Monte Acuto was born in the 1500s as a classic medieval watchtower, later used as a country manor for local nobility, and is now a splendid modern residence. Located on the hills of Lake Garda, the Torre is in perfect balance between nature, history and modern comfort, with sculpted architectural spaces focussing beams of natural light that filter and enhance the original natural materials, restoring the tower's ancient splendour. The property overlooks a spacious and flat lawn transformed into a garden with shrubberies, hedges, cypress trees and olive groves, surrounding the tower with greenery, peace and serenity.
Ideal for a relaxing holiday with flavours both simple and rare, the interiors have been designed with the finest attention to details, resulting in unique spaces dedicated to conviviality, contemplation and pure relaxation. The home has been published in numerous design magazines including Abitare, Io Donna and Marie Claire Maison. The Torre is built on many levels, all furnished with the highest quality designer furniture (including Arne Jacobsen chairs, a Jean Nouvelle table, a bed from Galerie Sentou (Paris), Ron Arad armchairs and 1930s Moroccan carpets, De Padova sofas and a Gaetano Pesce armchair).
The ground, first and second floors are dedicated to the living areas and bedrooms and the third and fourth floors are dedicated to unique spaces for reading and relaxation. The third floor studio, surrounded by windows, has stunning panoramic lake views. The fourth floor dovecote, now a library, is an extraordinary space surrounded by iron and glass balustrades, the wall slits filled with crystals, and the ceiling an exquisite fusion of original wood and new iron beams, all coming together to create a space that is in itself a contemporary work of art. |
