Fully renovated one-bedroom apartment in a traditional Craftsman-style California home built in 1912. Apartment opens onto a shared covered front porch with garden views. The main living area includes kitchen and dining, fold-out couch, and television with cable. The bedroom has a full-sized bed with desk and closet. A full bathroom with glass-tiled bathtub / shower is included. This cozy apartment is renovated in a traditional style with modern touches.
Silver Lake is our favorite neighborhood in Los Angeles. It is artsy, diverse, and centrally located.

We stayed at Amber's apartment.It was perfect for our needs. The apartment was very clean, safe, and walkable to restaurants and stores on Sunset Ave. Plenty of street parking. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to LA.
Amber was beyond courteous and very helpful to my friend and I. The apartment was better than the pictures. The location was beautiful, parking was not an issue at all. Amber made sure that we were comfortable, which was very appreciative since it was our first time visiting California. If you're looking for a nice cozy place, in a nice neighborhood, I recommend this place!
We stayed at Amber's apartment for three nights with our 19-month old son. It was perfect for our needs. The apartment was very clean, safe, and walkable to restaurants and stores on Sunset Ave. Plenty of street parking. Amber went out of her way to be accommodating, lending us a high chair and toys for our son. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to LA.
Before I even arrived Amber was good with communication and helpful with the process of signing forms and payment. Then once at the property Amber went out of her way to introduce herself and show us the small things we overlooked about the apartment.
The place is in a great location with plenty to offer within walking distance. Though we rented a car this past time since I had to travel outside of the city some while staying here, in the past we have stayed close by and used public transportation to get everywhere.
The Apartment has everything you could want for a comfortable stay. And has enough room where you don't feel crowded at all. The one thing that I noticed was how quiet the apartment and the neighborhood is. I did have one small issue and it was that the bed was a little stiffer than what I'm used to. This would hardly stop me from staying here again!
This apartment ticks all the usual boxes - good location, reasonable price, nice layout - but that turned out to be just the starting point. On top of that, it was the little things that made us feel really welcome: fresh lavender on the bedstand, directions to the nearest supermarkets, a jug of water when we hadn't had a chance to buy our own yet, a welcoming flower, etc.
This is examplary of the obvious care and thought Amber (and her family!) puts into receiving guests. The apartment 'business' is clearly being run very professionally. When we arrived, Amber took us through a clear and to-the-point payment procedure and instructions about the key, the airco etc, and told us to contact her if we had any questions. In the days after that she followed up with a lot of great L.A. tips, lending me her phone when I couldn't get mine to work, and some nice chats. If you've never done this before, you'll feel very at home and taken care of here. Amber literally lives next door!
The apartment was pristine and well-kept. We were impressed with the way it looks in real life. The wooden ceiling provides warmth and character, the furniture is lovingly chosen, etc - you can just tell they put a lot of thought into it. It was a real pleasure to come home to such a friendly place in the evenings. In front of the house is a porch you share with Amber and her family (the 'neighbours'), which was a great place to relax in the evenings (there is a bench on the 'guest' side). Another great perk is that you can cook there, which can save quite a bit of money. Supermarkets are located at a short driving distance. Vons (big supermarket) is closest, Trader Joe's (more focussed on organic, whole food, good assortment) is about a 10/15 minute drive.
We loved the location too, which is really close to Sunset Boulevard and provides you with the chance to walk there at night and leave your car at home. The boulevard offers plenty of bars and small restaurants. We caught a 'mystery beer night' with microbrews at a local bar, and a Mexican meal in a very colourful restaurant where we were received by a wonderfully flamboyant host in an orange tuxedo, and served fishbowl-sized Margaritas. The entertainment is on the quirky side, which we love! BTW I think you can find good upscale entertainment in the neighbourhood too, that's just not something we focussed on.
All in all it was pretty much the perfect L.A. experience, and I'd definitely stay at this apartment again!
Last April, my wife and me stayed the second time in the Reservoir House.
The house is very clean, the neighborhood is quiet and Amber with her family are very friendly and cooperative for all questions we had.
We are sure, next time we visit LA, we will stay at the Reservoir House again!!!
A charming very clean apartment in a 'California Craftsman' renovated house in the trendy district of Silver Lake in Los Angeles - between Los Feliz and Echo Park. A comfortable 3 room apartment including a large and high living room with kitchen and garden views, a full bedroom, and full bath. Street parking is always available. Just 10 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, 10 minutes from Hollywood, 25 minutes from the beach, 1 hour from the mountains, and 5 minutes from several freeways. A few steps away, our area offers great restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs and shops. Ten minutes away are museums and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. A 10-minute drive transports you to the largest park in Los Angeles: Griffith Park offers hiking, horseback riding, a train museum, a playground, a merry-go-round, pony rides, a golf course , a zoo, and The Gene Autrey Museum of Western Heritage. This apartment will be your tranquil home base in the heart of the fabulous and exciting Los Angeles basin, with easy access to the huge city around!
