Bonnes Saisons sits on the edge of the village of Puivert in the Languedoc-Roussillon, a region offering everything from breath-taking mountains to idyllic coastlines, with picturesque countryside and vineyards in between. Set in the peaceful foothills of the Pyrenees, the gite offers all the comforts of home and is a perfect base all year round, whether you’re seeking an activity holiday or just looking for a leisurely break, to recharge your batteries and spend time with friends or family.
The whole of the ground floor has been newly converted to a very high standard, into a private, completely self -contained space with its own entrance. Each of the three ensuite bedrooms provide King size beds and has its own private and pretty patio, accessed by French windows, leading out into the garden where you can relax with a coffee at the beginning of the day, or perhaps with a drink at the end of it.
The larger bedroom also has a very comfortable daybed that converts into two full size singles and can accommodate two children. We can also provide a cot for a baby/toddler if you don’t have your own travel cot (please chat to us about this and any other specific needs when you book). All bathrooms are fully tiled with luxury walk-in showers.
The kitchen is well equipped (hob, oven, fridge, microwave, toaster) and opens out beyond the breakfast bar into the living area with settees and armchairs to relax in. There is a separate dining area that comfortably seats 8 people.
Guests are more than welcome to use the garden and outdoor table and seating, as well as use the BBQ.
The WIFI connection is pretty good and it’s free to guests (reasonable usage but no unfortunately no streaming!)
For most of the year there are several places within walking distance that serve good food, ranging from a lovely café that does everything from breakfast to evening meals, the open air Buvette on the side of the lake that does good simple food as well as two further restaurants in the village. Not forgetting of course, an award-winning brewery that often does specialist food evenings to accompany their wonderful beers.
Using the gite as a base, you are ideally placed to pursue the holiday of your choice. If you enjoy an active break including walking or cycling, the surrounding area is perfect for both, and canoeing, sailing, white-water and all types of winter sports are also near at hand. Alternatively, if you want to take things at a more leisurely pace, there are so many places of interest, vineyards and markets to explore, you could easily fill your week simply indulging yourself and if you have a passion for history, you can trace the religious persecutions of the Cathars either energetically on foot by walking the Cathar Way, or in a gentler fashion by visiting the key Chateaux in the area that featured heavily in events.
There’s all sorts of festivals and events in the area happening throughout the year, plus a market somewhere every day of the week and we’ll be more than happy to let you know what’s on and where during the dates of your stay.
During the main times of the season, we only accept weekly (or multiples) bookings. Outside these times of the year, we try and be flexible, so please do contact us if you have something in mind.
