The street where the apartment is located takes its name from the manufacturers and sellers of crossbows, which are the 'Societas felix' of Balestrari. 'Balistariorum Street' was mentioned already in the fifteenth century and was of great importance because the road was important to the industry of crossbows. This cozy and romantic apartment of 70 square meters, recently refurbished with style and elegance of Provence, observing the atmosphere and the charm of a nineteenth century building, opens onto a foyer that leads to four rooms of the apartment: a spacious and bright living room , a beautiful double bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower. The apartment is located in an area well served, where everything you want is a few steps from the house, like Piazza Campo de 'Fiori, which houses since 1869, in the morning, a colorful local market of food and the evening becomes one of the liveliest meeting places and evocative.

Great location for shopping, and a short walk to Spanish Steps (which has a Metro stop). I would guess around a 15-20 minute walk to Pantheon, which is right in the middle of old Rome. Great value and plenty of room for everyone! 2 bedrooms and 2 pull out sleeper couches, which were very comfortable. Master bedroom with attached bathroom is really nice!
Only negatives was the 2nd bathroom shower fixtures were a little busted, and I am guessing it is a sit down bath/shower type setup. Seemed to leak water all over the floor, but that may have just been folks standing up. Also, be prepared to walk up/down four flights of stairs, just have to remember to save a little energy for that walk up at the end of the day! (-8 Walls are a little scuffed from rental wear, needs a little TLC (painting touch up/minor fixes) in the off season.
Amazing apartment just a couple of blocks away from everything! Excellent service by Giulio who truly went above and beyond for us and our luggage troubles. Grazie mille per tutto!!!!
Would rent again
The rental was just as pictured. The furniture was a bit worn but the space made up for it. Daniel was informative and responded quickly when we had an issue with the shower drain. We chose to use the offered car service from the airport since we had been traveling for 19 hours. Everything went smoothly and Daniel was waiting for us at the rental.
Good location but mixed feelings about the accommodations.
Although the apartment was large and in a good location, there was a great disparity between the 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. This was not obvious from the photos on the VRBO website. The nightstand in the small bedroom was a plastic child's chair that had a small lamp on it. Since we were 2 adult couples traveling together, this made for a very uncomfortable situation. Also, the bathroom associated with the second bedroom did not have a shower (only a tub). The air conditioner in the living room did not work. We contacted the rental company and nothing was done to fix it. I would not recommend this if there are more than 2 adults in the group. The other sleeping accommodations were sleeper sofas, one in the main hallway (no privacy) where I had to layout my suitcase and clothing because there was no space in the small bedroom.
This apartment is probably the largest I've ever stayed at in all of Europe. I couldn't get over the space. Its been nicely renovated & maintained. The washrooms are great. Great location easily walkable to the major spots in the city but also super close to the the subway & various bus stops if you didn't want to walk. The owners/property managers were very helpful & responsive. They helped secure a crib & a high chair for my daughter, which was greatly appreciated. A couple small downsides (but overall didn't affect how we felt about the apt) - the mattress in the master bedroom isn't the greatest but the other bed in the spare bedroom is probably the best mattress I've ever slept on! The master bedroom overlooks a patio for a lovely bar/restaurant and it can be a bit noisy late in the evening (probably not a concern to ppl travelling without young children). Lastly the manual left by the owner was lacking some key information (aka how to operate some of the washing machine, garbage rules, etc). We eventually figured it all out but we've been to some other apartments where all of this information is contained in a booklet. The manual/booklet mostly just contained restaurant recommendations & such (those were super helpful as well). We would certainly book the apartment again if we travel to Rome.
Huge and updated
Pros: really spacious for our family of 5. Remodeled. Clean. Washing machine/ dryer which was very useful. Nice host. Nice big table for meals.
Cons: nothing major but just so you know: really poorly stocked kitchen. Master bed uncomfortable. Dirty sponge for doing dishes
I would book again.
This cozy apartment is located on a road that leads to the lively and multiethnic Campo de 'Fiori, the usual meeting place for tourists and locals alike. A market is held here 6 days a week until the 1 and 2 pm onwards, the square comes alive with bars, clubs, and a lively social scene. Almost everything the old town has to offer is a 20 minute walk, but do not worry, the area is well served by bus for those who prefer to take it easy.
