Town: Situated at the mouth of the River Stour in the county of Essex is the historic port town of Harwich. Adjoining the small seaside town of Dovercourt, Harwich offers a number of amenities, ranging from convenience stores to quaint harbourside restaurants, one of which is named after the famous diarist, Samuel Pepys, who was MP for the town in 1679. The town has lots of beautiful architecture to admire, as well as a golf club and golden, sandy beach to keep you occupied on your stay. Nearby is the popular seaside resort of Clacton-on-Sea, hosting a beach and a pier for a quintessentially English day by the sea. For premium shopping, head to Colchester slightly further afield, or to get closer to nature, head to Dereham Vale AONB.
