A truly magnificent villa which occupies extensive grounds with breath-taking views over Sa Riera and the surrounding coastline. It is beautifully divided with the main house having three double bedrooms and the 3 guest suites each with their own central courtyard entrance. The architect designed, illuminated swimming pool has an illusionary horizon side and overlooks the bay of Sa Riera. Most of the principal rooms face the swimming pool and the sea and have patio doors to the surrounding patio.
Garden with beach volley and trampolin.
Main House: 1 double, 2 twin bedrooms each with en-suite bathroom and fitted wardrobes, 2 have double glazed patio doors leading to patio and swimming pool. Spacious split-level lounge with natural stone fireplace, sun lounge, large modern fully fitted kitchen, utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
*3 Guest Suites: Each has double/twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom or shower room.
Places to visit:: Places to visit: Begur is certainly the most exclusive part of the Costa Brava whilst remaining discrete rather than brash. There are no big chain hotels in the area and just small hotels in the town. Nearby guests will find miles of rolling hills and coastal walks to explore, small bays to relax in, old Roman villages, some of the best golf courses in Europe, clean beaches and outstanding Catalan restaurants set inside ancient Masias (farmhouses). Beach lovers are spoilt by the Sa Tuna beach just 1.5km from the house or away of those of Tamariu, Aiguablava Lla Franc or Sa Riera all nearby. For more cultural day trips destinations could include Figueres for the Salvador Dali Museum, Girona or of course Barcelona itself. The are is also ideal for water sports like diving, kayak, rent a sailor boat for the day.
Gastronomy/Wine: Gastronomy/Wine: Gastronomy and night-life The local region is renowned for its excellent restaurants and wines. Begur is also a popular nightspot with a number of bars, and nightclubs. The area benefits from a unique soil type and consequent grape varieties. Catalonia produces world class wines ranging from clean crisp white wines and Cava from the D.O. Penedès region and the powerful fragrant red wines from the D.O. Priorat, Tarragona
Scuba diving:: Scuba diving: This corner of Spain has developed a great reputation for scuba diving – focussed around but not limited to the Medes Islands – a protected Marine Reserve since 1983 with spectacular caverns; red, yellow and purple sea fans as well as a thriving fish population including groupers, huge shoals of sardines & anchovies which attract pelagic predators such as jack, bass, bonito barracuda and a variety of bream.
Very convenient home, independent rooms and bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, marvelous garden, swimming pool, beach ball & trampoline.
Outstanding views of the Mediterranean and lots of different beaches around.
Very relaxing stay, real holidays
wonderful house, great location 2 mins to town and 3 to beach (by car!). great view. family loved it. we hope to stay there again. a very minor gripe was that considering the overall cost it would have been nice if some basic cleaning, washing powder, toiletries in place instead of having to go and buy them for our week. overall i would be happy to recommend it and the fact that as a family we agreed we would like to stay there again really says it all. gk
What a great house!Situated in a quiet, relaxing spot, the view is heavenly, the beach isn't far, and we had some great walks along the coast while staying here. There is masses of space, plenty of garden and works well whether it is filled up to full capacity or if there are just a few of you. I would highly recommend this lovely house, we had a very happy stay here.
A delightful stay with our friends in this extraordinary house, with an unbelievable view from all angles even when swimming in the pool. Also to be noted, a quiet patio to where all bedrooms converged and where we comfortably had our breakfasts and dinners. A must see and stay experience. Perfectly located to enjoy the beautiful Costa Brava coast and visit Dali's preferred spots.
The view if magnificent. We failed to go everyday to the nearby beach, because staying in the border of the swimming pool, facing the sea, is already a relaxing holidays time.
The property is very easy to live, bathroom for each room, familiar and confortable rooms, easy to use kitchen.
The garden is big, with different places to stay depending on the time of the day.
We had one electrical failure during the stay, but it was fixed quickly by the agency.
I would definitely recommend the house, and certainly will come back with the family
The Begur area is well known for its beautiful beaches. The villa is just above the beach at Aigua Gelida and a short distance from beautiful Aigua Blava and Tamariu. There are a number of bars and restaurants on the short promenade at Tamariu catering for all tastes and budgets. Within a short drive there are also a number of 'gourmet' options for the more discerning palate. Generally food in the area is excellent with lots of fresh fish, shellfish etc, as you would expect in the Mediterranean. Inland there are some beautiful small medieval villages very reminiscent of Tuscany with vineyards, sunflowers and rolling countryside between here and the Gavarres hills. There are lots of designated off road walking and cycling tracks making this area a joy for outdoor activities. Locally there are dive schools with equipment and boat hire. It is also possible to charter a yacht or hire a smaller boat. You want it we have it! Just ask and we can probably point you in the right directionT
