Location Location! 3-minute walk to the beach. 2-minute walk to 5th Avenue. Luxurious top-floor/corner condo, in a non-elevator building, with floor to ceiling windows, wraparound balconies plus an over-sized private roof deck.

Condo is perfect for two couples: a master king suite with full bathroom a queen suite with full bathroom, plus half-bath off living room and another bathroom on the roof deck. It also has in-unit washer/dryer. This corner unit is flooded with light and has over 300 square feet of wraparound terraces creating superb al fresco living. If you enjoy merging indoor and outdoor living with plenty of sun and breezes, there simply is no better condo in Playa.

But the jewel is the expansive, private rooftop deck: outdoor kitchen with commercial equipment, an outdoor shower, soaking tub, and plenty of places for lounging. It's a private escape with ample shade and city views (note, there are no ocean views). And there is easy access to Meridian’s shared roof top pool.

About The Owner

We love to travel and have lived in some really amazing places. We always follow our nose to seek out cultural travel with an emphasis on good-eats. Discovery in cities like Playa del Carmen is best at walking speed and ground level. The Riviera Maya region has legendary all-inclusive resorts, but we seek a less manicured vacation experience. While Playa has some high-end all inclusive resorts (Mahakal is about 150-yards away), the city is really what attracts travelers (versus vacationers).

We chose Playa because it's an easy trip with an amazing food scene and very kind-hearted culture. Broadly speaking, Playa is divided by 10th Avenue: on the beach side is the tourist town with 100's of shops. Inland though, is a vibrant Mexican city that has over 200,000 residents.

Yucatecan cuisine differs sharply from the American stereotype of Mexican food as it is less spicy. That said, beware of the green salsa often served - it's made from Habenaro peppers which make Jalapeno's seem like jellybeans.

What makes this condo unique

We love not needing a car. Playa is only 45-mins from Cancun Airport, so it's super convenient. The condo itself is ideally located for us. Playa is spreading northward, and more recent expansion has a more sophisticated feel than the original core. I

Amazing, everything you want and need!

Peter and Cheryll were amazing! They were very helpful not only with info on local shopping, beaches and restaurants, but random questions I would text them. The maid service was impeccable and the condo was equipt with everything you could possibly need regardless of your ideal vacation needs the condo it self is a lovely secured building with very helpful staff and I would gladly call this condo my home away again and again. Very Nice Property

We very much enjoyed our stay at 311 Meridian in Playa del Carmen. It's reasonably close to the ocean and a few minutes from 5th avenue. The condo was secure, clean and had everything one needs. The rooftop area was particularly nice. So was the pool. Grocery shopping is not that far away and there are plenty of restaurants around. You don't need a car. Very nice.

Perfect for my family!

I will start off by saying I also rent out properties on VRBO and recognize the importance of honest reviews. I stayed here for three weeks with my wife and 2 year old son. It is on the third floor of a walk up building so people with mobility issues may have trouble. It is 36 stairs up(counted every time with my son). The condo is very well appointed, from games in the entertainment unit, to beach chairs, umbrellas and a cooler. Peter and his wife Cheryl could not have been any more accommodating by answering my many questions and giving great advice to places to go and see. The beds were very comfortable and the furnishings though out were perfect. Kitchen had everything that you need. The cleaning staff and security were great. The roof top patio space is fantastic and I spent many evenings at the BBQ with a glass of wine. A water cooler for drinking was great and a refill was easy to get by leaving out the front door. The hammock chairs were so comfortable that I have already ordered one for home. The only negative I have is one that the entire area has to contend with. There are some issues with water pressure or having water at all on some occasions . It happened to us 2 times in 3 weeks with only an hour delay until the water came back on. This means the ultimately the rooftop 2 person tub is really not practical. These issues would not stop me from booking this unit again as it is such a great space. 2 streets from the beach and 2 streets from the quiet end of 5th ave. Walking distance to all but in a safe quiet area. We had a fantastic stay and would love to still be there.

Utilities in Mexico are simply not as reliable as they are in the US or Canada so our building is investing in upgrades. One of the brief water outages during your visit was due to a larger tank being installed which will reduce the issues, at least for our building. Being environmentally sensitive is important to us: we have replaced all 4 toilets with low-flow high/quality ones, and we’ve installed solar panels for our condo (about 2/3’s of the electricity used during your stay came from the sun!). We hope you will return soon for another escape from the cold winter up north!

Perfect location and amazing condo

We loved our stay at the condo, the location is perfect. The owners were incredibly helpful with helping us find the best restaurants in town as well as anything else we needed. The condo has everything you could need and the patio is amazing for evening drinks etc. The only improvements I could see are a hot tub instead of a juccizi and better wifi as it was difficult to stream a movie one night( although you shouldn’t be on wifi too much in Mexico anyways! ). Cheers definitely would stay again if we decided to go to playa another time in the future.

Location, convenient, peacefull

My wife and stayed here for Christmas and is was great .if anyone likes to stay in playa this is it. for only two blocks from 5th ave. it's amazingly quiet. The condo was very clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated we must say we have stay at many places in playa before and this place is a real winner

Location, Location, Location!

Where to begin? First of all, the properties hosts Peter and Cheryll are very helpful and informative. The space is full of light, comfort and quite large for relaxing and dining. We loved the roof top deck as well because it was almost like having another outdoor apartment on top of the main living space. Lovely appointed built ins, outdoor grill and dining room served for our more “al fresco” meals. Tons of very private space for sun bathing, reading or even taking an outdoor shower. All the bathrooms are beautiful and very comfortable with the latest plumbing and gorgeous modern fixtures. Well thought out throughout, the property doesn’t disappoint. We would have to say however that this condo’s Location is a perfect 10. Did you ever want to be close to the action and yet enjoy a quiet more peaceful street with a neighborhood feel? Well this property offers just that. A very short walk (about 3 blocks) to the main shopping and restaurants and also just a few blocks walk to the beaches! If you would also like to swim in a pool, the rooftop pool shared by the buildings other tenants is very private and the perfect size. We can’t say enough how pleased we were with our stay and really look forward to returning again soon. Playa Del Carmen AND this lovely condo truly has everything.
