Central Edinburgh has so many historical and fascinating places to explore and it can all be done by foot from our property. Infact we advise leaving the car at home! New Town Edinburgh is a fabulous base whether visiting for the Edinburgh Festival or any other of the many other events held during the year. Open top bus rides, escorted walks, shopping and so much more can start from our doorstep. Head to nearby Leith to step on board the Royal Yacht Britannia or walk up The Mound into the Old Town along the Royal Mile leading to Edinburgh Castle - in time for the One O’clock gun. Guests are also very close to the many theatres, concert halls (including the Theatre Royal and The Usher Hall) and cinemas Edinburgh has to offer. For those seeking peace and tranquility there are nearby magnificent museums and galleries (including the Scottish and National Portrait Galleries) and the famous Botanic Gardens. Stockbridge with its antique shops, second-hand bookstores, vibrant cafe, bar and bistro atmosphere is a short walk away and it is here you can take a walk along the Water of Leith. We can provide our guests with lots of information on exploring Edinburgh City Centre and beyond and of course the many places to eat whether for lunch or an evening out. About Lynn Lambert

Edinburgh is not only my home town but also where I was married many years ago and we have many friends and family members living in and around the city. We have two grown up daughters who are now based in London but they try to visit Edinburgh when they can. Although we live in Norfolk, England we have excellent housekeepers (actually an aunt and uncle) who enjoy looking after our apartment and our guests. We are experienced property renters and owners and our homes are well cared for and maintained to an extremely high standard. So whether you are family, friends or new or returning guests everyone is assured of a warm welcome.

Why Lynn Lambert chose Edinburgh

We came across our apartment some years ago during one of our many visits to Edinburgh. It was for sale in a 'needs modernisation and updating' state and just around the corner from where we had our very first apartment when we were married in 1979. Being able to retrace our footsteps around Edinburgh - a great city that we love - is very special. We set about upgrading it but keeping all the wonderful Georgian details. Sadly, due to other commitments, we dont use it as much as we used to and therefore are very happy to now share it with our guests, family and friends. Its location and facilities are second to none enabling everyone who visits to relax in a gorgeous, huge apartment for the price of a small, bland hotel room.

What makes this apartment unique

Our apartment is so spacious - the entrance hall gives you the feeling of stepping into a grand Georgian country house. We love the period details, the high ceilings and looking out into Georgian Edinburgh from the front room and doorstep. We have been able to modernise and upgrade in a sensitive way. Its location, so close to all that Edinburgh City Centre has to offer, is also a huge plus and there are also so many great restaurants and pubs nearby to suit all budgets.

Very high quality throughout the apartment

This is a first class apartment, thoughtfully equipped and extremely comfortable throughout. It is quiet yet ver conveniently placed for city centre as well as delightful district of Stockbridge, with all their facilities. It simply couldn't be better.

Don't Tell Anyone!

I’d like to keep this place a secret so that my wife and I will always be able to book here. But that would be unfair to Stephen and Lynn who have done such a wonderful job on their home and who helped make our recent eight-night stay a pleasure.

Best Location:

This was around my twentieth trip to Edinburgh, so I know the city reasonably well. In my opinion, 11 India Street’s location is perfect for visitors in that it’s a block away from the shops in New Town and a block away from Stockbridge, one of Edinburgh’s most appealing neighborhoods—and only a twenty-minute walk from Old Town and the Royal Mile.

Exquisite Accommodations:

I’m more critical than most because I’m an architect who’s done many homes and many interiors projects. 11 India Street is no layman’s do-it-yourself project: Stephen and Lynn’s extensive renovation was designed and overseen by professionals and was featured in a prestigious Scottish interiors magazine—it’s that good.

Impressive Value:

Having stayed in some of the best hotels in Edinburgh, I think it’s unlikely you’d find a hotel room of comparable quality for twice the money and you’d not find comparable space in a hotel suite for triple the money.

Extra Thoughtfulness:

Our hosts checked in with us before we left and upon our arrival, at which we received far more than the typical tea-and-coffee-and-wine package.

Dream Come True!

We have stayed in many nice apartments throughout Europe, but this one was absolutely the cream of the crop. It has all been said by others .... the location, the accommodation, the ease of dealing with the owners. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you will always remember it as part of the magic of Edinburgh.

Fantastic Apartment, Close to everything

I have just got round to writing a review - But there is not a lot I can add as to what already has been said.

The apartment is luxurious with all amenities that anyone would require.

Lovely small touches with quality products supplied.

We never even used the front room as the kitchen/sitting room was adequate for us.

We would thoroughly recommend renting this apartment. My Fiancée was blown away with the apartment & Edinburgh in general.

We used Kay's the local bar which though being small is very friendly. We used a couple of café's in the area also for breakfast/lunch.

We crammed so much into the 4 days we were there, what a fantastic city which we had visited many times but never really explored.

Visited Royal Yacht Britannia, Georgian house, Royal Mile & Holyrood, Edinburgh zoo, Botanical Gardens & took a bus tour too.

Edinburgh is so easy to get around on foot too, we certainly done plenty of walking & the weather was nice most of the time. Visit Leith, some fantastic restaurants & bars down by the water.

The owners really have set a benchmark in luxury apartments. If you get the opportunity you must stay here.

Visitors flock to Edinburgh for its unique heritage and cosmopolitan environment and our much loved one bedroom apartment is the perfect choice for those couples looking for a special central base. Situated in a quiet position, in the very heart of the Edinburgh New Town, it is so close to everything the city has to offer.
