4 bedrooms, sleeps 8. Short drive to the beach and 2.5km to Pollensa old town

This authentic restored Mallorcan finca sits in the picturesque Vall de Son March valley between Pollensa and Lluc and provides very comfortable and atmospheric accommodation with spectacular views. Inside, the house is furnished in typical local style with beamed ceilings, high quality furniture and a well equipped farmhouse kitchen. Outside, there is a pleasant shaded terrace with fantastic views of the mountains and the fenced swimming pool whilst around the front of the villa, across the courtyard, the barbecue house provides a great spot for evening, al fresco dining.

There is a large 10m x 5m swimming pool with the benefit of a fence to keep the little ones safe.

Beautiful villa with great views

Well kitted out, lovely house finished to a really good standard and attention to detail. Away from the road with lovely views of the mountains and a really relaxing sun terrace. Only downside was some mouse poo in the saucepans in the pan cupboard.

Would stay again.

Great location beautiful views lovely pool

The villa is in a fantastic location and the pool was a good size and cleaned regularly by the friendly owner. Would definitely recommend this villa and it’s easy to get to lots of places from it.

The northernmost spurs of Sierra de Tramuntana are the backdrop of the Mallorcan town of Pollença. The town has a medieval historic quarter that sits only a few kilometres away from the Mediterranean sea. The town, under the shade of the mountains of Puig de Pollença and Calvari, has managed to preserve intact its personality, despite being only a short distance from the bustle of the beach. Pollensa has been a preferred destination of painters and artists since the beginning of this century. Here, the cultural and artistic life never stops. The main square with its pavement cafes and chic restaurants is the hub of the towns unique charm. There are a lot of art galleries and museums. During nearly all the year one can enjoy a variety of musical events and fiestas among which the most famous ones are those which take place in the Santo Domingo Cloister. The Sunday market is a social event and people travel from around the island to experience the array of products on offer. The town is open all year round with walkers, cyclists and bird watchers taking over from the summer tourists in the cooler months

Port de Pollença (Puerto Pollensa)

This resort has everything – wonderful scenery, beautiful sandy beaches and a laid-back friendly atmosphere. The sheltered horseshoe shaped bay is set against the stunning backdrop of the Tramuntana mountain range. No wonder it remains a favourite with families and couples who return time and time again. Originally a fishing village, Puerto Pollensa retains the time old tradition of the evening paseo or stroll. On warm, balmy evenings tourists and locals alike wander up and down between the marina where the yachts are moored, past the pavement cafe bars and restaurants and along the celebrated Pine Walk as far as the elegant Illa D’Or hotel.


Always a firm favourite is the Formentor you can go by boat which you pick up at the restaurant Stay but equally enjoyable by car as the views are truly fabulous, once you arrive at the entrance to the beach and hotel the security guard will be advising everyone to park to the left. If you can speak a bit of Spanish then there is another car park nearer the beach further along. If they let you through carry on along this road until you see the stables on your left and a small car park on your right you will have to pay the attendant 10 Euro to park but it is well worth it as you at the best end of the beach, and you have to pay the same in the other car park which is a lot further from the beach, you can use the ticket for a discount on food or drink at one of the restaurants although the food prices are also very expensive. You have access to the hotel beach bar which is always an experience in itself, especially to people watch and “celebrity spotting”. If you go through the gate out of the car park heading towards the beach turn left and follow the footpath that runs along the side of the hotel grounds

Keep going until you can’t go any further this should bring you out onto a jetty where you can access the best and quietest part on the beach.

If you fancy pitching up on the beach in front of the beach bar the sun beds are 30 Euro per day and include the hire of a towel!! Expensive but the beach is one of the best on the Island.

Cala Sant Vincenç

There are three small beaches at Cala Sant Vincenç, Cala Molins is the most popular there is a car park opposite and beach bar along side, there are a number of other cafe bars close by. It is also a popular spot with divers particular for first timers, a couple of local dive schools use the beach for training. It can become very busy in July and August. Be careful there can be strong under currents a little further out. It faces north so looses the sun earlier than some other beaches.

Cala Barques is the first beach you come to, it is accessed via steps alongside the hotel Don Pedro and Hotel Nui. There are several good restaurants along the steps serving good seafood. Around the corner from Cala Barques, a short walk around a rocky path is Cala Clara, a tiny sandy beach.

There are several good walks from Cala San Vincenç which we will cover in another section, but the most popular is the walk to Puerto Pollensa over the mountain which takes approximately 40 minutes.

Es Mal Pas Beaches

Sant Joan and Sant Pere beaches are located in the Es Mal Pas area, the beaches cater for mainly local residents and the odd tourist looking for a bit of peace and quiet away from the bigger and more popular beaches. Both have small beach bars which are reasonably priced and sun bed hire is also inexpensive. Great views looking out to the Cap de Formentor, both are reasonably small in size but rarely get overcrowded. Slightly of the beaten track but with good access from the road.
