About James Logan
Hi, I'm James and this is my wife Ayako. We have two kids aged 12 and 14. I was born in Kent, grew up in London, worked in Japan for over 20 years and moved back to the UK in 2012. I've sailed a lot over the years but recently do mostly long walks around the UK and around Bridge. We enjoy camping and staying in other people's holiday lets in the UK and France. I used to spend 14 hours a day in a suit but now I'm either digging, planting or painting a wall !
James Logan purchased this House in 2015

Lovely cottage in great location
The cottage is well designed and well equipped. The walks from the back door are wonderful, with many interesting public footpaths in the local area. James was extremely helpful and the whole stay was a real pleasure. Thank you very much.
We had a fantastic weekend away here. The cottage is really well equipped and very, very comfortable. It's a real home from home and you could easily live here for an extended period of time or like us just for a short break. The cottage is very private with excellent off-road parking and there are good facilities nearby (pubs and a local shop within a short walk).
We chose to visit Canterbury (whose Park and Ride is minutes away) and Chatham Dockyard which is 40 minutes away; the cottage gives you easy access to the major roads to explore Kent.
We used the local pub for evening meals (which was lovely), but it was great to be able to come and go at the cottage as we pleased and know we had somewhere that is lovely and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything to provide you with home comforts (all usual kitchen facilities, plus a coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine and plenty of crockery, pans etc) - they have even provided a European adaptor for overseas guests !
It's lovely to have such a warm and cosy place to stay, we arrived on a horrible November night (cold and wet) and were immediately made to feel warm and cosy with the underfloor heating. We stayed as a couple, but there is plenty of room for 4 with a large and airy open plan lounge / kitchen / diner which is light and comfortably furnished.
We were so impressed, we got home and booked ourselves another break here :-)
Fabulous well appointed cottage
We’ve just had a great 3 night stay with our two young children (age 3 & 5). The host was very welcoming. The property had everything we needed and was exceptionally comfortable. The renovation has been finished to a very high standard. Underfloor heating downstairs and thick pile carpet upstairs made the place feel really warm and cosy. Perfect for time of year we visited. Our kids enjoyed playing in the back garden, especially on the tree rope swing and with the table football in the garden house. A small public playground literally across the road came in handy when we just wanted to take them somewhere for half an hour (the large recreational area beside was perfect for kicking a ball). Location was great base for exploring local area. Overall we couldn’t fault our stay and would be keen to return for another weekend away.
Clean, comfortable and ideal location.
Ideal location for visiting Canterbury, Dover Castle, Howletts wild life park etc. Very nice patio area for the cottages own use. Very sheltered spot. Extremely clean and tidy, with a spacious shower. 5 minutes walk into the village of Bridge which has 3 pubs and a village store. We used the local bus service to go into Canterbury We will definitely stay in this lovely cottage again when we visit Kent again.
Perfect relaxing break
Our relaxing stay at Tulip Tree Cottage was just what we needed. The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings and provided us with peace and quiet from the outside world. The cottage is tastefully decorated and had all the amenities that we needed. We especially liked the bathroom and the log burner in the lounge. All this along with the owner James' being on hand made our stay in Kent a lovely, relaxing mini getaway. We would definitely recommend Tulip Tree Cottage!
A very good place to stay, great location, a good choice.
There was no flaw in the service we received. The cottage was clean and has everything we needed. We had a great time visiting the area, and also when stayed in. The garden made the difference for our dog, the table football made it for me and the children. Our thanks to James. Will return, most probably.
