Welcome to Casa Alexandra. A luxurious lakeside villa, set on the shores of Lake Vinuela, in the beautiful Axarquia region of the Costa del Sol. This is the perfect place to holiday and offers panoramic views of both Lake Vinuela and Mount Maroma. The superbly furnished and fully air-conditioned and heated accommodation offers a large open plan living space incorporating a luxury dining area, lounge area with wide screen TV, HD Freesat, DVD and comfortably furnished terraces and patios. The villa has a large Roman inspired private pool (9x5m), including an additional (3x3m) entry steps section, providing ample room for paddling. The villa offers large terraces in which to sunbathe, relax, take in the views or dine alfresco. The villa is suitable for all year round rentals and is particularly good for walkers and hikers in the cooler months as the National Park & nature reserve are only 15 minutes away. Skiing and sledging are also available in Sierra Nevada - 1.5 hr. drive away. The villa has a heated pool to 30 degrees - March to October inclusive (£100 pw) and a hot tub with a 6 person capacity (£30 pw) available all year.

Before I even start commenting how amazing the villa/ holiday was I must start in saying how brilliant the pre-service was, nothing seemed too much trouble and Karen was always answering any questions we had, or providing advice which was great seeming we had a little one.

The villa, lake and surrounding area are beautiful 'proper Spain' - being surrounding by mountains, valleys, quaint villages and the bluest lake I've seen was 'well words can't describe.'

Karen's dad 'Ray' lives next door and is always on hand or popping up to see how you are, whilst bringing wine.

The villa is great - its perfect for a family holiday, our little one was 14 months and it was great for her.

If you're thinking about booking this villa, don't - bloody book it !!!!

I'm more than happy if you want to email me to find out any thing more on but trust me you won't be disappointed in this place.

Bedroom 3 is located on the ground floor and therefore ideal for those with walking difficulties. All bedrooms have bedside tables and additional drawer packs.

The large open plan living space incorporates a comfortable lounge area which has seating for 7 people and includes a 37 inch TV with WIFI TV with most UK channels provided. There is a large solid oak table seating 8 and large oak sideboard with bluetooth speaker and various board games and a small book library. On the covered terrace we have a large outside table and chairs (seating 8). On the large patio we have 8 high quality sun-bathing loungers with towels provided at no extra cost. WiFi -internet is available at the property at no extra charge - just bring your own laptop. The Roman inspired pool incorporates large (3m x 3m) entry steps which is an ideal area in which toddlers can paddle. A swing-ball game is also supplied for guests to use during their vacation

Outstanding scenery

Loved our stay. For us as a couple the location was wonderful in that the views surrounding the entire villa were exceptional and the total privacy was superb. We did have an issue with the cleanliness of the pool while we were there but were assured that this would be looked at. The cleanliness of the villa itself was excellent with everything inside that you could want. Even though we had a couple of issues it would not put us off returning to spend another holiday.

Fabulous Villa in Stunning Location

This is a lovely villa in which to spend a holiday. It has the most amazing views. We had unseasonably cold and windy weather for the week we were there (early April) so unfortunately we weren’t able to make the most of the beautiful swimming pool and outside area as it was too cold. The hot tub saved the day for us all and we enjoyed it very much. Sitting in the hot tub, looking out across the lake and to the snow covered mountains was a truly amazing and memorable experience. The villa is up in the mountains and it is a short drive to village shops and facilities. The coast towns such as Nerja are easily accessible and the roads are good. We had some difficulty with the hot water supply whilst there but this was dealt with appropriately by Dennis and Karen. We are happy to recommend this villa.

Lovely, clean Villa for the family with superb view!

We had one week in this lovely villa in October (Had meant to leave a review long before now!) A family member of the owner greeted us with a very warm welcome and some useful information on the surrounding area. The villa was spotless on arrival with a very generous welcome pack of goodies. The villa is very well equipped and felt like a home from home.

The view from the villa is fabulous and we particularly enjoyed sunrise and sunset. The pool was heated which we really appreciated having 2 young children. We were able to use it every day.

There are some lovely local restaurants 5-10 mins drive away. Large supermarket and shopping centre with Zara, H&M, Dunnes etc around 15-20 min drive away.

We hope to return again and explore the surrounding area more next time. Found it hard to drag ourselves away from the lovely pool and view!

This is the third time that we have stayed here, which speaks for itself as a recommendation The villa is spacious, clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's a great place to relax and just look at the view, especially in the morning as the sun rises. Looking forward to a fourth visit in the not too distant future.

We have truly found a gem of a property. Everything is perfect!!! The location is great if you want pure peace and quiet away from it all. The view you can never tire of. The villa cleanliness was immaculate and is very well equipped. The welcome pack you are greeted with is plentiful and enough there for breakfast and drinks most days. There are three good sized bedrooms with plenty of storage and all with en-suites which are also of a good size. The pool was amazing and was perfect for those long hot days. Dennis, the villa representative is extremely helpful and very informative. We will definitely be back

Lovely house, beautiful view!! Helpful owner

From the first email karen was extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

From the moment we walked in the house was as nice as we expected....thoughtfully furnished, fresh, clean & modern.......the view was better than any pictures! We had lovely weather & found the house in a quiet spot whilst being in a great position to get anywhere....Valdez Malaga, shops, markets etc.

Karen's uncle Dennis, who now takes care of things, was excellent. He was very helpful when we first arrived, was thoughtful by dealing with the pool when we were out but popping by to see all was well. It was a perfect balance.

We'd like be to go back.

The villa sits high up overlooking Lake Vinuela. Approxiimately 10 min from La Vinuela (nearest supermarket and bank - ATM), 5 min Puente don Manuel, (hosts a small selection of bars, restaurants, butchers and 2 English shops), 5 min Los Romanos (restaurants with superb views), 15 min Alcaucin (small supermarket and Bank - ATM). Alcaucin is the best area for walkers, joggers and nature lovers providing access to the Tejeda National Park with tracks winding through pine woods, mountains, valleys with outstanding views across to Lake Viñuela. There are also many other prescribed and graded walks in the vicinity. 15-20 min Velez Malaga/Torre de Mar (nearest beach, water park and a large shopping complex). 40 min Nerja with the Nerja Caves and many beaches featuring beach side restaurants and water sports including scuba diving. 45 minutes Malaga and 90 min to Granada and the Alhambra Palace and skiing/sledging in the winter months.

Golf: Golf: There are two excellent 18 golf courses nearby, Baveria Golf (20 min) & Club Anoreta (30 min).

Cancellation terms are full return of fees up to 60 days for on-line bookings and 6 weeks for direct bookings.

The pool heating and hot tub are included in the rental as additional fees £100pw Pool Heating and £30pw hot tub. We only charge for heating from March to end of October each year as no pool heating offered from November to March.

There is a refundable £250 security deposit payable with your final payment to cover breakages and damage. The £250 will be returned to you within 7 days of departure; once the villa has been checked.

Please note that this is a non-smoking villa; smoking is permitted outside.

No pets allowed.

Cleaning is included in the cost of the rental however we do charge of any clean in excess of 12 hours. This is charged at £10 per hour over 12 hours..

Electricity is included in the cost of the rental. Linen and Towels are included in the cost of the rental. Pool towels are included in the cost of the rental.

Welcome Pack is included in the cost of the rental.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
