Wonderful home, lovely hosts
We’ve just spent our Christmas and New Year at this lovely home set in a beautiful location. Ardfyne is a spacious home that offers you the opportunity to spend quality time with friends and family but also have your privacy and own space when needed. The en-suite bathrooms were very handy! The home has all the facilities you’d need for a comfortable stay and cannot think of anything we missed. The views from the bedrooms and landing are breathtaking on a sunny day as you can see the lake and mountains at the same time. Our whole experience of booking and communication with owners/property managers was a very positive one and the welcome hamper and beautiful Christmas tree made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall we had a lovely relaxing stay and would recommend Ardfyne to anyone visiting the area.

Stunning views
We’re just back from Ardfyne- what a fantastic house, equipped with everything we needed for a brilliant weekend away with our families. Only 1hr 20mins from home, but it felt like another world! The house is a fantastic size, with 3 huge en suite bedrooms upstairs. The view of Loch Fyne was stunning and we had a fantastic lunch in the Creggan’s Inn, a half hour walk along the coast. Wished we could have stayed longer!

Family Holiday
The place was brilliant, so spacious to accommodate our family, including our four grandchildren. It was well equipped and spotlessly clean on arrival. Location was excellent, the views over the loch sitting on the upstairs balcony where breath taking, this included a number of brilliant sunsets. Overall a great experience in a lovely property, highly recommended.

About the host

I am a retired school teacher and my husband and I live near Loch Lomond just an hour's drive from Ardfyne.
We have always run self catering in Scotland and we felt that the house offered guests perfect peace and quiet as well as stunning views of Loch Fyne, a spectacular sea loch on the west coast.
The large garden was an added attraction and I have worked on it over the last 8 years to turn it into a garden that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Why they chose this property

We just love the west coast of Scotland as the scenery is so dramatic and diverse.
Ardfyne is in an amazing location, set into the hillside just above the village of Strachur. You can have complete privacy and peace and quiet yet you are only a short walk from the village shop and post office.
The house itself is extremely spacious with 2 large public areas, a huge kitchen, 2 areas of decking, a games room and 4 bedrooms. 3 of these bedrooms are very large with en-suites.
The house looks out across Strachur Bay to the tourist town of Inverary and the distant hills. It also looks down the sea loch for miles. You can watch the activity of yachts and dinghies at the pontoon or indeed passing fishing boats and the naval exercises of schooners.

What makes this property unique

Ardfyne is an architect designed house so it is one of a kind.
Offers 234 square metres of living space plus 27 square metres of decked area so masses of space.
Its location is outstanding.
Its peace and quiet.
