A large and bright apartment located in a strategic position for getting around the historic center. The Gran Canal is very close and you can cross it using a gondola ferry service for a mere 2 Euro. The vaporetto (water bus) stop that allows you to reach any destination in the lagoon is also only a few steps away.
The flat is close to a very useful baker for the daily bread, milk and croissant while the supermarket is about 200 mt away. It is an area rich in bars and restaurants, but despite being an area of great artistic interest is not too crowded.
The apartment was restored for the owners, who used to live here, with high specification and great comfort. There are two balconies on the canal from where you can see the Gran Canal and the house which was once Lord Byron’s, it is a very picturesque corner. The sitting room benefits from original beams, has comfortable divans and in the morning the sun light floods in. The kitchen has a large fridge and it is well equipped (also for cooking lessons).
The walls are decorated with special pigments used in the old days, white malt and black Venetian stucco or red for the ceiling in the dining room. Dark tanganica wood for the drawing room floor. Floor carpets are in red brick colour. The two bedrooms look out onto the pictoresque campiello San Toma' from where you can see the ancient Frari belltower. They are full of light and facing south west and have air conditioning.
The drawing room is a special room that changes according to the time of the day, in the morning it gets the sun that creates interesting shadows in between the white stone columns of the balconies, it lightens the garden in front and brings great energy. In the afternoon, during the warmer months, it is very nice to enjoy the evening breeze sipping an aperitif on the balcony. In the evening, the special lightings and the different types of wood whose hues vary from honey to dark brown create a warm and pleasant ambience where you can relax.
The location is perfect for enjoying Venice, everything is nearby: St. Marc’s cathedral, Rialto, Piazzale Roma and the station are only 10/15 minutes on foot.
The famous Rialto market is only 10 minutes walk away.

The gothic Frari church and San Rocco with the spectacular Tintoretto paintings are only 100 mt away and you also have the choice of a lot of museums in the proximity: Accademia, Ca Rezzonico, Guggenheim Collection, Palazzo Grassi, casa Goldoni .
Campo (square) Santa Margherita , the centre of the Venetian night life, is only 10 minutes away on foot. The most renowned restaurant in town ”Da Fiore” is about 300 mt from the apartment.
Rialto fish market is an experience not to be missed especially on a Saturday morning.
Walking from Rialto to La Salute church you can discover the best art and craft shops.
At home you’ll find guides with recommended shops, bars and restaurants.

A fantastic 4 night stay in this great apartment, right in the centre of Venice. Gregorio (Giulia's son) met us at San toma stop and only about a min walk, gave us a tour and all the information that you would ever need in a well laid out pack. loved are stay walking around different area each day or even just chilling with a glass of wine on the balcony. No question would stay there again.
We cannot say enough good things about our month in this apartment and about the owner, Giulia. We anticipated a great time in Venice, but thanks to Giulia, it was much better than expected. The apartment is gorgeous and large and was cleaned weekly during our stay. The location at the San Toma vaporetto stop puts everything in Venice within easy reach. We took as many of Giulia's recommendations as time allowed, from restaurants and cicchetti bars to shopping and side trips. Torcello was as charming as she said it would be. And we took advantage of having a Venetian dinner cooked for us in the apartment by Ada. That and a visit to Giulia's house for coffee and prosecco were unforgettable. Giulia gave us every reason to come back soon. We heartily recommend her apartment at San Toma.
Fabulous apartment in a wonderful location. We arrived late at night and the owner Giulia met us and directed us to the apartment with all it's awesome amenities. She took time to go over nearby restaurants, places of interest, tickets for the bus service and so much more. The apartment was located within walking distance of the Rialto bridge, San Marco square and anywhere else we wanted to go. The apartment was beautifully decorated, clean and well kept. We signed up also to have Ms. Ada (as recommended by Giulia) cook us an authentic Venetian meal at the apartment one night. What a fabulous experience. We went to the Rialto market with Ms. Ada in the morning, bought some fish and vegetables and she came back later and prepared us a 4 course Venetian meal with so many wonderful new foods to try. Definitley more than worth the fee she charges for the experience. Giulia also invited us to tea one of the evenings but our schedule didn't allow that experience. We would recommend Giulia's apartment if you are thinking of vacationing in Venice. She made our visit there splendid
We've come to Venice the same couple weeks every year for 14 years and rent an apartment in different spots each time. This San Toma property was wonderful and afforded us everything we want when we come to Venice .... the apartment had all the amenities we require to feel at home - from the stocked kitchen to the perfect location (close to everything but tucked quietly away). Lots of days we wanted to just stay in the apartment, cook and just enjoy the sounds outside or stand on the balcony at look towards the old world traghetto. We had the wonderful opportunity to visit the owner (Giulia) at her beautiful home on the grand canal for an afternoon coffee. Many owners seem to duck out when their properties are rented .... not Giulia. She wanted to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Venice. She had wonderful suggestions of new things to do. We even spoke with her adult sons ....and as one would expect if you meet Giulia, they were equally perfect hosts. Again, after 14 years we know what we want in a property ..... This San Toma apartment did not disappoint. Highly recommend it .... Ciao!
We spent a week (3 adults and one 10 years old ) in this most pleasant apartment which is exactly as advertised. It is vast, well decorated, very clean, and most comfortable with air-con. in the two rooms, each with its own bathroom. The kitchen is very well equipped. There are three small balconies, two overlooking a small canal leading to the Grand canal a mere 100 meters further where are the vaporetto and traghetto stations. This apartment is ideally located to visit Venice with restaurants, bars, gelaterias, grocery stores a few minutes walk. The owner,Giulia, is most charming and generous of a time to answer all questions you might have. She has prepared a booklet with maps and infos on museums, restaurants, emergency numbers ,lines of vaporetto, best way to and from airport, train station etc which was very helpful . She even had the fridge stocked with bottled water and a bottle of Prosecco.
If we ever come back to Venice, we will certainly choose this apartment again.
Molto grazie Giulia !
