This gorgeous, sun filled property sits in a quiet cul-de-sac behind A beautiful communal garden. The interior is a great combination of period cottage features and sleek modern fittings and has a wonderfully child friendly design. With 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, this property is perfectly suited for families large and small.

The loft bedroom is a large space with en-suite shower room and bunk beds and comfortably sleeps 2 children and 2 adults.

Outside the house is the enclosed communal garden which is open to guests all year round and is a lovely place to relax and let the kids run free (without having to worry about traffic). If extra space is needed, there is always the larger St Marks Park which is just 5 minutes walk away. This park has some amazing activities and play areas which will keep the little ones busy for hours. There is also an ultra modern water play-park with changing facilities which is open spring and summer.

There is also large play house in the patio along with some toys and bikes for the little ones.

A short walk (10 minutes) from the property lies Goldborne Road and Portobello Road, both packed with wonderful boutique shops, and antiques stalls not to mention the vast array of coffee houses, bars and restaurants. At the end of Portobello you will arrive at Notting Hill Gate with even more of the same plus the Gate Cinema, Jamies Kitchen and my personal favourite the delicious Yoomoo frozen yoghurt bar!

This is a lovely, warm, quiet home in a little known great corner of London. This makes a perfect safe haven to return to and relax in after all the excitement of a day out in the city.

Great location, comfortable, communication not so good

The house is comfortable, not fancy, perfect for families with kids. The location is great, just a short walk to Ladbroke Grove Tube, Portobello Road and a Sainsburys. There is a good Indian restaurant close by that delivers, Taste of Punjab.

Communication with the property manager was problematic. Emails were slow to be responded to. Payment was not through home away, but wired or Paypal, which made me a bit nervous. Even worse, the person who was supposed to meet us at the house didn't show up and didn't answer his cell phone or return our numerous calls. After a long journey and arriving tired and late, this was not a good start to our vacation. Hopefully this issue will be corrected.

Mixed feelings

We had a varied experience with the home in London. It took awhile before trip time came to get in contact with Rowan White, the property manager for Tranquility Space. When he finally wrote back, he did have some helpful ideas about getting to the property. The home is far enough from Ladbroke Grove tube station that travel with luggage is a challenge. We ended up taking a taxi to meet a contact at the house. However, when we arrived at the house, there was no one there. The taxi driver very kindly stayed, called Rowan's number, and helped us navigate the logistics. Rowan told us where to find a hidden key, and that turned out to be the only way we got in the house. No Tranquility Space person ever came by.

We had other varied challenges, too, such as hot water shutting off, leading to very cold showers, and running out of supplies like toilet paper, which we had to go out and buy at Sainsbury's. On the last day, no one came by to close out the home rental, so we put key in its hiding place and went off in taxi again.

The house was nice enough, but the rental logistics were not great. We had a much better experience in Paris with another home rental group, and will probably not use VRBO on our next trip.

What a gem!

We loved it here. Such a homely feeling. And once you've got your Oyster card you are right beside buses and tubes to be all over London... the bonus being you're living in wonderful surroundings. We loved the little park out front and that we were so close to the Portobello market. We're definitely coming back our time was too short.

Appartement bien située par rapport aux transports. Bus en bas de l'appartement pour aller au metro (jubelee line) qui nous emmène partout. Seul bemol : le bruit. Si vous ne pouvez pas dormir avec le jour, amenez ce qu'il faut. Il n'y a pas de volets en GB. Commerces en bas de l'immeuble et O2 à 13 mn.Tres bon sejour.

Kensington & Chelsea, London, England, Europe (10 Minutes to Ladbroke Grove Tube. 40 Minutes to Heathrow.)

10 Minutes walk to Portobello Market (the World's largest antiques market), short bus ride to Notting Hill and Westfield (Europe largest shopping centre) and just 5 minutes walk from St Marks Park. There is even a gated communal garden between the house and the busier Barlby Road which keeps the place quiet and makes a great play area for the kids.

There is a wonderful, children's wooden play house ('tree-house') with numerous toys in the secure patio area at rear of property. Long breakfast bar in kitchen with window through to dining room. Beautiful, sun-drenched loft room with en-suite. Guests will also have access to a lovely communal garden outside the property. The well maintained flower beds and lawn areas provide an ideal place for the kids to run around. Also great for relaxing in the sun. Just 5 minutes walk from the house is the much larger St Marks Park. Here, there is a small cafe next to the huge adventure play area with a supervised water-play park (changing facilities on site). This park will keep you and the children happy for hours.
