Villa Hermes is located in a beautiful location near Skala Village, just 800 meters from Kaminia beach, the famous sandy beach of the Caretta-Caretta Turtle. It is just 40 min from the island’s International Airport (direct flights from UK and other European countries, as well as Athens International Airport) and 35 min from the island`s main port Sami (ferries from Italy via Patra - mainland Greece). A few minutes away there are restaurants, bars, food shops, supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, local gift shops, car/bike rentals. Walking and cycling along the coast is a superb experience. Tennis is available in nearby hotels, while mountain biking, horse riding, sea kayak and trekking within 30 minutes drive. The villa measures 140 m2 on a plot of 7400 m2. The villa has a private pool and a children's play area, barbecue and a number of other amenities.

I grew up in Skala and lived there with my family until it was time for me to move to London for my studies, back in 2007. I now live and work in London while assisting my parents with the villas as much as I can. My job is to help with the bookings because, unfortunately, they don't speak English. What they lack in English fluency though, they more than make up in their enthusiasm and love for the properties and their visitors.
Philip purchased this Villa in 2007
Why Philip chose Elios Proni
My father built these villas and has poured all his love and effort in them. My mother and he are the ones looking after the complex all year round, taking care of the visitors and ensuring they have an unforgettable stay. Enjoy the magnificent views of the Ionian see from the comfort of your private pool. Walk to the great sandy beach of Kaminia and maybe catch a glimpse of the Caretta Caretta turtle laying its eggs! Or simply relax in the garden, lay down in the hammock and enjoy a glass of our complimentary wine, from grapes grown in the very property you are staying at. Far enough from the noise of the nearby town in an idyllic location, while still being close enough to the beach, these villas are perfect both for a family holiday and a romantic getaway.

Wonderful Villa, good location, well appointed
We had a wonderful time here. It is just outside Skala. An excellent beach just down the hill. You could want no more
Fabulous holiday at a lovely secluded villa
We left Villa Hermes feeling completely relaxed after a wonderful week's holiday. The villa itself is lovely and spacious, and the garden is a fabulous place to while away the hours - not overlooked at all, with plenty of sunny or shady spots to sit, depending on your preference, and the private pool to cool down in. Skala is just a 25-minute walk or a 5 euro cab ride away, and has more cafes, restaurants and tavernas than we were able to try in our week there, plus is the starting point for many trips and excursions (we would recommend Captain Vangelis's boat tours). In terms of logistics, booking the villa was really straightforward: the owner is very responsive by email, and on site help is available just up the road, on hand but not obtrusive if there's anything you need. Overall, highly recommended!
Spent a week here in September 2017 and thought it was excellent - friendly owners who cleaned the pool each day and even cleared the fallen leaves from the garden/play area!
Villa itself spacious, clean and bright - perfect.
The one downside was there being no shops etc or beaches within realistic walking distance but everything within a 5 mins or so drive.
A wonderful week in beautiful Hermes
We loved our week at Hermes. The house was extremely well equipped for a holiday home, as well as being clean and comfortable. Outside, the pool was ideal and a great size for us and our three kids. We also really enjoyed the grassy garden/ play area and covered terrace. The house was quiet and private feeling, but it was easy to get to Skala to pick up supplies etc. Nearby Kaminia beach is lovely, and perfect for kids: sandy with calm, shallow waters and umbrella hire.
The one criticism would be the lack of a "welcome pack" as promised on the website. Arriving late afternoon on a Sunday, we had hoped to find a few basic items as is usually the case in such holiday homes, but had to go out to get these.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind and honest review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and I'm very sorry that there was no welcome pack when you arrived. If anything like this happens again in the future, please raise it with me as soon as possible, so that I can do my best to fix it or make up for it. Mistakes like this can happen occasionally, but with your help we can do our best to minimise them and ensure you have as memorable a holidays as possible.
Thank you for choosing us for your vacations and we hope to host you again sometime in the future.

Fantastic villa. Good size, well kitted out and lovely layout
Fabulous holiday. Villa beautiful, we were well looked after by the owners who lived close by and Kefalonia was simply stunning
A fantastic week in a wonderful villa
Just returned home after a fantastic week spent in this wonderful villa. The owners were on hand to help, but were never intrusive, and the villa is convenient to Skala, although a hire car is recommended.
The villa itself is very spacious (we were a family of 5), and included all the necessary home comforts that were needed for a very pleasant stay.
We would stay here again due to the quality of the accommodation and the warmth of the welcome of our hosts - which we recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and family friendly base. Thank you!
(Tip for travellers - if you have a car, avoid Skala beach as it is not very sandy but made of large pebbles and is uncomfortable. Head instead to nearby Kaminia beach - a strip of sandy beaches in a quieter part of the coast - and aim for Katelios for evening meals as the location is more pleasant than Skala).
