Guestbook comments from the manager

To the Charles Family,

Thank you so much for a lovely stay! The Coach House is beautifu-comfortable and bright, the location is perfect. The trampoline and play space was just what our children needed.

More than the place, though, we enjoyed your thoughtfulness, hospitality and graciousness. From the nibbles and wine in the kitchen to (especially) Harveys willingness to engage with and teach our children English cricket, your kindness has been a blessing to us.

We wish you all well and hope to meet you again!

Best Wishes

This was such a wonderful place to stay. It was so attractive and was exactly as pictured. The beds were very comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again. We met the owner, Jackie and it was clear how much thought and care she put into the outfitting of The Berkley Coach House. Thank you Jackie!!

Beautiful, peaceful and well-equipped!

  • 5 of 5

This property was absolutely fantastic. Paul was brilliant both in advance of the stay and during it - really helpful, quick to respond, and flexible. The property is in a really quiet spot but is really well equipped, with all kitchen utensils, games, books and firewood you could ever need! It's got a well decorated interior with good quality linen. The outside space for the BBQ and table tennis is an added bonus - we spent most of our time here due to the good weather. We will definitely be coming back!

Stunning, indeed!

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted by our stay at the Coach House. We were a party of 6: my husband and me, our son & his wife and two young children. The house met all our needs for space and amenities: the children had their own bedroom on the top floor, complete with toys & books provided by the owners, a washer and dryer, a lovely garden & patio on which we enjoyed meals & drinks, and a higher "secret" garden where the children could run.

I've rented several VRBO properties, and this was the loveliest & best-provisioned. From the moment we saw the beautiful grounds surrounding the house and near-by main house, we knew this was a great find. Very tastefully decorated throughout, the beds were comfortable with superior quality bed linens & the towels were soft & plush. If you're inclined to cook, the kitchen is fully equipped (& a large Sainsburys is nearby). The owners have not missed a detail, including a thorough "users guide" to the property and lots of information on things to do in the area.

The Coach House was perfectly located. My son asked to be close to a pub, and the Hop Pole, a pub dating back to the 17th Century, was a 3-minute walk away. We spent our first evening there; my son & daughter-in-law returned a few nights later for a memorable evening when Morris dancers stopped by en route home, & ended up performing. Four pints to the wind, my son & daughter-in-law joined in.

About a mile from the house, we rented an electric boat for an hour-long canal cruise - tremendous fun for us all. Bath was a short drive away, and the Roman Baths were incredible. We also drove to Puzzlewood in Wales, a deep forest trail that defies description, stopping by the ruins of the 14th Century Tintern Abbey on the drive back.

Our trip to the English countryside was wonderful, and the Coach House greatly enhanced our stay.

Perfect location and home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Old Coach House for a hen weekend and found the house to be perfect for our needs. It was close to drive everywhere we needed to, supermarkets, shops and of course Bath were only moments away. The house was great for large dinners and brunches and lazing around in front of the fire. The outside space at the back felt private and worked perfectly for an evening of BBQ'ing, feasting and fun.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this home to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay that's quiet, well appointed and full of home comforts.
