If it’s a traditional french holiday feel you want, La Bulle is the place for you. If you want peace and privacy, La Bulle is perfect.
La Bulle, to us, sums up French tradition. The property has been updated with all mod cons but the character hasn't been stripped away and still has all the quirky bits in the right place. If its a traditional french holiday feel you want, La Bulle is the place for you. If you want peace and privacy, La Bulle is perfect. The swimming pool has complete privacy away from prying eyes but with panoramic views over the countryside where you can sit and sip that glass of wine and forget the rest of the world. Beside the pool is an under covered terrace area with fully equipped kitchen area for cooking al fresco.
The property is situated 5 kilometers from the village of Montaigu-de-Quercy which is ideal for French markets, restaurants, shopping and perfect for all supplies needed. The towns of Roquecor, Beauville, Bourg-de-Visa, Laroque-Timbaut & Lauzerte are within 20 minutes drive where all facilities are provided, and the larger towns of Agen & Villeneuve-sur-Lot are around half an hour away. Pujols & Lauzerte themselves are listed as two of the most beautiful villages of France and are a must to visit..
Nearby in Montaigu de Quercy is Les 2 Lacs Campsite, a spacious family campsite located in a beautiful valley with two lakes on a 19 hectare estate. It's a paradise for swimming and fishing in a calm, green and spacious environment
Above all it is a department for relaxing, quiet country walks, and is great cycling country. There are more 'sights' (bastide towns, castles etc) towards the north-east, less tourists and quieter roads further south.
Marché Gourmand Nocturn’ (evening markets).
For the real taste of Summer in France, then don’t miss one of the ‘Marché Gourmand Nocturn’ (evening market). This is dining ‘al fresco’ as it should be. Select somewhere to sit at the one of the many trestle tables then, browse the stalls selling local cooked meats and produce from which to make your selection of a meal. To accompany this choose a bottle of wine from one of the local wine producers. Why not finish by having a crepe, fresh fruit, gateau or ice cream. The ambiance deepens as the entertainment gets going and you may even get to your feet to dance a step.
There are public tennis courts both in Montaigu and in Toufailles (approx. 10 mins). Montaigu has a "leisure lake" with a "beach" pedalloes and canoes plus a bar/café.
Montaigu has a couple of bars/tabac; a pizzeria; and two other restaurants. Roquecor and Miramont (approx. 10 mins) both have good bar/restaurants.
The area is renowned for confit de canard, foie gras, pruneaux and Cahors wine. Many vineyards in the vicinity (particularly on the road to Cahors) are open for tasting.
There are many "bastides" (fortified hill-top villages) dating from the middle-ages and the 100-Years War to visit - Monpazier being one of the nicest.
There are a couple of outdoor go-kart tracks near Agen. To the north of Fumel is an adventure park (Parc en Ciel) which is like an assault course suspended on wires high amongst the trees with long zip-lines - excellent for kids/teens
