This 3 bedroomed property has been very tastefully renovated and combines many traditional features with modern luxuries. As you enter the house through the front door you come face to face with the charm of exposed stone walls, oak beams, travertine flooring and a modern open plan kitchen/dining room. There is an island unit and matching base units housing a fan assisted oven, 5 burner gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and extractor fan. The design of this room facilitates family interaction, there is a dining table and chairs with tablecloths and napkins. The modern kitchen units contains a full array of pans, crockery, cooking utensils, cutlery and serving dishes. The room is heated by a large log burner which also heats the radiators throughout the house, this is supplemented by an air source heat pump that blows hot or cool air both downstairs and upstairs. Unlimited logs come with the rental and the owners will prepare the fires if requested.
Through a cute stone doorway you access a large lounge area, you will find two sofa beds and two chairs. There is a TV with free view and a DVD player with a range of DVD’s. Again there are feature stone walls, exposed beams and travertine stone tiles on the floor giving a rustic ambiance. There is a stone fireplace and a small cream enamelled log burner in this room providing additional heat if required.
The upstairs rooms are accessed via a hand made oak staircase. The upstairs rooms have polished wood floors and oak beams as well as stone feature walls. Two of the bedrooms contain double beds while the third bedroom has two single beds, so sleeping six people is comfortable, we also provide bedding for the sofa beds so there is a degree of flexibility with the sleeping arrangements. Towels and bedding are included along with a small range of toiletries. The large bathroom has a full sized bath, a walk in shower and a wash basin and toilet. Hot water is provided through a hot water tank which is heated by the log burner and an immersion heater so there is always a plentiful amount of hot water.
Outside there is private parking for up to three cars as well as a dining area and outdoor seating areas. A barbecue is available for your use, and there is pétanque and outdoor table tennis equipment.
The local area has an abundance of tracks and footpaths so it lends itself to walking and cycling ( 4 adults bikes are at your disposal free of charge).
There are two local outdoor swimming pools and one indoor pool.
The local villages are less than ten minutes away and you will find restaurants, grocery shops, boulangeries, a dentist and a doctors surgery. Banks, supermarkets, street markets and larger stores are all fifteen minutes away.
There is a wide range of tourist attractions including the Vallée Des Singes, Futuroscope and a bird of prey centre in the medieval town of Chauvigny. There is a wide variety of leaflets and brochures in the gîte to assist your plans.
