Tranquil and cosy

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely holiday in Friston. The house is well-equipped with a relaxing lounge and good-sized kitchen-diner. It is in a quiet lane so our stay was peaceful. 8 of our 10 days were hot and sunny and we explored the local beaches of Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Southwold, Walberswick and Kessingland with much ice cream consumed! We enjoyed walking on the footpath near the cottage through the pig farm to watch the pigs at feeding time and to see the piglets bounding around. There are many beautiful longer walks to do (Helen had thoughtfully left us an OS map) and I walked to Thorpeness (5 miles) and Dunwich Heath (9 miles). We also went crabbing at Walberswick, geo-caching at Dunwich (NT) and rowing at Thorpeness. Nearby Snape Maltings is worth a visit. We would all recommend this cottage.
