A spacious, modern chalet apartment, in beautiful mountain village near Megeve

A beautiful spacious, modern apartment, situated in the village of Cernix, close to Crest-Voland in the Savoie region of France. The apartment enjoys stunning mountain views and is well placed in a quiet, but convenient location. Extremely well appointed, the owners have taken great care to ensure that visitors experience a high level of comfort during their stay. Offering 4 good sized bedrooms, one en suite, the apartment accommodates up to 8 people who can enjoy sitting in comfort in the spacious sejour or taking in the sun on the magnificent 145 M2 terrace. The building also contains a delightful indoor swimming pool for use of residents - what better way to relax after a day in the mountains?

Guests have use of secure underground parking, with lift access to the apartment.

Beautiful mountain village: Chalet des Oursons is situated in the pretty mountain village of Cernix where development has taken place with great care so as to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the area which has a mixture of Alpine pastures and dense forests. The area is famed for its Beaufortain and Reblochon cheese, which is produced locally and sold from farms and in the local markets, along with sausiconns, hams, fruit and vegetables.

Nearby restaurants offer tasty meals using the finest local produce, in magical surroundings.

In winter Cernix is a ski resort whilst in summer the village is a base for walking, cycling and touring where the villages are surrounded by verdant alpine pastures, with beautiful cows and their enchanting bells adorning the landscape. Rustic Savoyard chalets are decked with stunning floral displays and mountain restaurants off delicious ice creams and refreshing drinks on sun drenched terraces.At any time of the year it provides the opportunity for a special holiday.

Excellent ski resort: Chalet des Oursons is situated very close to the lift at Cernix, which will take you up Mont Lachat - the heart of Crest-Voland slopes. These offer opportunities for new and experienced skiers, who can also enjoy lessons from the local ski school. Part of the Espace Diamant, this provides skiers with the opportunity to explore the larger ski area which includes Les Saisies, Praz sur Arly and Notre Dame de Bellacombe. This area boasts 185 km of pistes, 87 lifts, 154 different runs, 330 snow-makers, 4 boarder cross courses and 3 terrain parks. Les Saisies is a former Olympic centre for cross-country skiing with 140km of Nordic pistes. Well marked and maintained routes for snow shoeing provide another alternative for those wishing to explore the mountains in winter.

With its position close to Mont Blanc and consequent excellent snow record skiers return time and again to this gem in the ski world.

Sunshine in summer: The warmer weather transforms Crest-Voland into a summer paradise.

The mountain walking and climbing potential is endless from local walks to the toughest mountaineering challenges that Mont Blanc can offer. A popular choice in summer is to use the lifts for ascent and then enjoy the pleasure of exploring the mountains and descending at leisure.

Cernix is a superb venue for cyclists - both mountain biking and road. Cycles can be hired near the apartment and the lifts plus local buses offer endless possibilities for mountain itineraries. Road cyclists can enjoy the challenge of Tour de France climbs or gentler expeditions such as the Annecy-Albertville cycle track.

Cernix has tennis courts, a play park for young children. The local lift will take you to a plan d'eau where you can picnic or fish. The more adventurous might choose to enjoy paragliding, ballooning, Via Ferrata, rock climbing, pony trekking, Escalade, white water rafting and so much more...

A real home-from-home apartment in a wonderful location

We stayed at Gillian's apartment in July 2016 and found the apartment to be spacious, high quality and well equiped. The apartment had all we needed, is very accurately described on the website and was clean and tidy for our arrival. It proved a great base for outdoor activities and sight-seeing but also has plenty of internal and external space for those stay-at-home days, and the swimming pool was the icing on the cake for an end of a hot day dip. Gillian was most responsive to queries we had and we intend to return :-)

Great apartment, great location.

This is a great apt and comfortably sleeps 8. Very clean and homely. It is situated minutes from the ski lifts, just a short walk in the morning and can ski back virtually to back door in the afternoons. In the evening there are a few bars/restaurant which are all friendly and food great. Ski hire shop again on the doorstep. A great find for us .

Brilliant skiing, apartment is excellent.

This is a fantastic apartment, a great find. I went with a small group of friends and certainly hope to do so again in the future. Booking was simple enough and any questions I had were answered promptly, often with a choice of solutions if applicable. Key collection was simple and the apartment was clean and tidy when we arrived. The apartment itself is well thought out with enough room so that 8 people can comfortable stay, the terrace is also an added bonus ( looked brilliant for the summer months). We had everything we needed including reliable WIFI and Uk TV. I have traditionally skied in areas such as the three valleys and later on in the season, glacier based resorts. The Espace Diament ski range was a welcome change, there is a solid variety of piste with varying style and difficulty. Most of all shorter queues !!

BELLE LOCATION, PROCHE DES PISTES

Nous avons bien profité de cet appartement spacieux et bien aménagé.

La décoration nous a bien plu, les équipements (cuisine, WIFI, sanitaires) étaient de bonne qualité.

Autre point fort, l'accès au télésiège du Cernix est à 5mn à pied, et 1mn ensuite à ski. Ce télésiège permet ensuite d'accéder à tous l'espace Diamant.

Grande gentillesse et disponibilité par mail du propriétaire, qui a toujours répondu rapidement à nos questions ; sur place, accueil par un agent sympathique également.

L'appartement était bien propre.

Nous avons peu profité de la grande terrasse, sauf pour faire des bonhommes de neige !

Aux points moins positifs, nous avons déploré la température de la piscine collective (vraiment très froide !), et le peu de commerces à proximité ; même s'il y a ce qu'il faut pour les locations et les courses d'appoint à Cernix, les boutiques, elles, se trouve à Crest Volland, à 10mn en voiture.

Au bilan, nous recommandons cette location, particulièrement pour les familles nombreuses !

Très bel appartement au ski

L'appartement est bien agencé et décoré, il est confortable et très bien équipé (électroménager, vaisselle cuisine, salle de bain, tv avec lecteur DVD...)

L'immense terrasse nous a permis de profiter du temps (trop) doux, avec une table de ping-pong à disposition, ainsi qu'une grande table à manger.

La piscine à disposition dans la résidence est située à 2 pas de l'appartement.

Le télésiège "Cernix" est accessible à 5/6 min de marche, et il relie le domaine espace Diamant.

Le propriétaire a été disponible pour répondre à nos questions.

Bref, notre séjour a été parfait, au manque de neige prêt.

Un grand merci au propriétaire.

Le Chalet des Oursons is situated in the village of Cernix, close to the larger village of Crest-voland and is part of the Espace Diamant which includes Les Saisies, Praz-sur-Arly and Notre Dame de Bellacombe. In the winter the area is a busy ski resort, whilst in summer it offers a wonderful base from which to explore the French Alps. Cernix has restaurants, ski / sports shops and a grocers' which has a daily supply of bread and croissants, whilst Crest-voland offers a wider range of shops and facilities, including tourist information, butchers, supermarkets and a patisserie.

Nearby Megeve is a popular excursion, along with Chamonix, the famous mountaineering centre, Annecy with its lake, canals and quaint buildings and Albertville which boasts the world famous International Military Music Festival.

Skiing, mountain biking, tennis, walking, climbing, paragliding, quad biking, golf , white water rafting, pony trekking and sight seeing provide endless opportunities for your holiday.

Other Activities: Escalade, via Ferrata

Golf: Golf opportunities range from the renowned course at nearby Megeve, a variety of opportunities near Annecy, mid golf (pitch and putt) at Les Saisies and several mini (crazy) golf in the area. Courses to suit all tastes in breath taking settings!

Ski: The village of Cernix is situated at 1250m and, with a climate influenced by Mont Blanc, enjoys an excellent snow record and offers a range of pistes, from easy green runs for beginners to more challenging slopes. With its own ski school, the local slopes include a snow park and boarder cross area. More experienced skiers may wish to purchase a pass for the Espace Diamant which opens up access to some 185kms of diverse and challenging pistes, with fabulous views of Mont Blanc, The Aravis and Beaufortain mountains.

Chalet des Oursons has the advantage of being situated close to the Cernix lift and local ski hire shops. It offers a perfect base for your skiing holiday.
