About the property

A double level apartment on 1.550 m' for an active (summer or winter) holiday

The apartment offers 4 bedrooms of which 3 are located under the sloping roof. Also located on this level is a bathroom with a sink and a shower/bath and a separated WC. All beds are provided with a hotel-quality mattress, pillow and duvet. The rooms are spacious enough to put your clothes, personal belongings and if needed, a small bed for a baby.

The 4th sleeping room is located on the level where you enter the apartment. This room has a bunk bed and its own shower. Opposite this room there is the second (separate) WC. You will also find here the living with the open kitchen and a big dining table, which sits 8 to 9. The fire place and the balcony, where you can enjoy the winter sun, makes the apartment complete.

The kitchen is provided with a dishwasser, an oven, a microwave, a refrigerator with 3 freezer trays and an electric stove. A water boiler and a coffee machine (Senseo) is available as well as general kitchenware.

The apartment is located only 50 m' from the ski slopes

The apartment 'Sous les Tuiles' is a two-level apartment, part of the apartment complex 'Hameau des Neiges'. It is located at a height of 1.550 m', driving 2 corners after the centre of Sainte Foy Station. The complex houses eight apartments in different sizes and with their individual style. Sous les Tuiles is the highest located apartment, there for 'living under the tiles' or in French 'Sous les Tuiles'.

From the apartment you can view the first chairlift that brings you to Plan Bois; the start of the ski slopes is on 50 m' from the entrance of the building. The skiing area of Sainte Foy is very child friendly.

The centre of Sainte Foy has a small supermarket to get your daily groceries and local specialities; in the bakery you can buy your fresh French bread. For a paper you go to the news agency close to the ski school.

Active & relaxing in winter: Off course Sainte Foy is attractive for its skiing and snowboarding (on and off piste), but there are more snow activities. A small summary of the possibilities:

• Snow shoe (raquettes) walking - 5 signed tracks are available;

• Telemark skiing - you can rent these skis for a day to try it out;

• Sledging after 16.30 in the village;

• Snow seater - to take up to the pistes;

• Exercise your back- and front flips on a big black 'pillow';

• A dog sledge tour;

• Special off piste tours with a guide of the Ecole Ski de France or a private ski-teacher.

The centre of Sainte Foy has several restaurants and bars, different in pricing and atmosphere. They all offer hospitality and are setup to match the authenric village. The tourist bureau organises constantly different activities for which you can enrol. Visit the 'Bureau du Tourism', located at Sainte Foy next to the stairway that connects the wooden deck and the level lower.

Warm days & cool nights in summer: Sainte Foy is getting more and more prepared for an active summer holiday. In and from the centre of Sainte Foy a number of possibilities are offered:

• marked walking trails - for example to 'le Monal';

• small water places to play;

• play facilities for younger kids;

• sport competitions for kids (primary school);

• guided walking tours with explanation on flora and fauna;

• climbing Col d'Iseran or the Petit Bernard to italy on an bike;

• marked VTR tracks (you can rent bikes in Sainte Foy centre);

• great area to take several 'cols' by motorbike (Col d'Iseran, Col Petite Bernard, Col de la Madeleine)

Every activity related to mountains can be found (within max. an hour drive): rafting, canoeing, hydro speed, via Ferrata, via Cordata, walking tracks, etc)..

Why Saskia Kuiper / Maarten van Rijn chose Val d'Isere - Tignes - Sainte Foy

We love our apartment because of the central location: close to the skiing slopes and the nice center facilities. It is the perfect family location for an active skiing holiday; Sainte Foy skiing area is small, but the possibilities are big. All slopes end in the center, so kids can go skiing quite quickly on their own. A break at home during the day does not cost to much time when you are an "all-day-skier".

Also in summer you'll find nice tracks for walking or mountainbiking; the walk to the mountain village "Le Monal" is a famous one. The summerdays can be hot and sunny, the nights are rather cool. Val d'Isere (for golfing an more hicks) and Bourg St. Maurice (for water activities and shopping) are close by, both within 30 minutes.

Spring and Autumn are the most quite period in Sainte Foy; the quiteness after the skking period with the upcoming flowers or the amazing colored trees after a warm summer. The time and the place to balance life ....

Notes:
The apparment is most suitable for a family (or 2 small families) and is child friendly. The garage holds one parking spot for the apartment; an extra car needs to be parked in the central parking garage close to the centre of Sainte Foy Station. The apartment building has an elevator that goes from the parking garage to the 4th level. 'Sous les Tuiles' is located on the 5th level, so for entering the apartment the stairs need to be taken. Firewood can be used freely, when available. The washing & drying machine is located in the 'cave' in level 1 and is a combined use with one of the other apartments in the building. Great Stay...

It was the 1st time to go to Saint Foy Tarentaise.

We were two families (8 + 1 baby) staying in this chalet apartment.

It is very conveniently located : for accessing the pistes and the station centre.

The chalet was extremely comfortable, spacious, clean, and perfectly furnished and organised to make you feel easily « at home »

Saskia was always helpful and welcoming in her correspondence. Thank you

We absolutely loved it and we are already looking forward to coming back...

Very comfortable and homely

We were two families staying in this lovely chalet apartment. Very convenient for the pistes and the station centre, helped by the lifts in the building and access through the garage. The web site and listing on owners direct and home and away sites enabled us to plan the stay well, and amenities were exactly as listed. The chalet was extremely comfortable, and clean, with amenities to make a stay with children a breeze. We absolutely loved it. Saskia was helpful and welcoming in her correspondence and gave us all the info we needed. We have already re-booked.

Heerlijk confortabel familiehuis

We hebben ontzettend genoten! Dit is een heerlijk ruim huis met alle voorzieningen die je nodig hebt. Heerlijke open haard, fijne badkamer, ruime keuken en eettafel, lekkere bedden en alles was heel schoon (erg belangrijk!!). Een aanrader!!

Super vakantie gehad in heerlijk appartement

Wij hebben een heerlijke week gehad in een fantastisch appartement. Alles was wel aanwezig, als je iets zocht. De bedden sliepen goed en het fijne was, dat de bedden niet klein zijn, zoals de meeste Franse bedden.

Het appartement ligt op een goede afstand van de pistes, je skiet zo naar beneden naar de lift en vanaf de piste ben je zo weer bij het appartement.

Al met al een appartement waar we zo weer naar terug zouden gaan.

Excellent week, once again

For the second year we rent this apartment in Sainte Foy. And once again, we had a great time. Of course, the good weather conditions help : snow and sun. But, the apartment is very well equipped and we feel quickly as at home. As it is big enough for two families, it would be good to have two parking spots, but it is not a major inconvenient as there are some free parkings in the station.

Lovely apartment, charming village!

Many thanks for the use of your apartment. It was very comfortable, it had everything we needed and was in a great location. We loved the resort of Sainte-Foy Station and we have all said that we'd like to go back there again. We had two big dumps of snow so there was some lovely powder on the slopes and the off-piste areas were great fun. And we never had to wait more than a few minutes for the lift which is amazing for the week that we went (the UK school holidays).

The valley of the Isere, with Val d'Isere (30 min. drive from Sainte Foy), Tignes (on 20 min.) and Bourg St. Maurice (on 20 min), offers diverse and sufficient possibilities for an active and relaxing holiday. The Col d'Iseran and the Petit Bernard can be taken by bike, car or motor and create direct access to Italy (in winter these 'cols' are closed).

Golf: In Val d'Isere (30 minutes drive) you'll find an 18 holes golf course.

Ski: In the centre of Sainte Foy Station you'll find several place to rent your skiing - and snowboard gear.

You can view the piste from the apartment and 50 meters out of the front door you can enter the piste, just by gliding down.

Besides the formal slopes there is enough (safe) off piste possibilities to enjoy skiing or snowboarding for the whole family. All slopes ends in the village, so kids can ski, quite quickly, by themselves.

Also you can experience from here the bigger skiing areas, such as les Arcs (start in Villaroger), Tignes and Val d'Isere.
