A delightful cottage in the heart of Georgeham village. BROOK COTTAGE has been modernised but retains all the original charm of this attractive period property. This home from home is spacious with a large rear garden, the perfect holiday home for families, sleeping up to 8 people.
BROOK COTTAGE is a fantastic base from which to explore North Devon. Staying in an area of outstanding natural beauty you will be close to miles and miles of golden sandy beaches, amazing surf, stunning views and coastal paths. Croyde Bay is just 1 mile away; a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk away. The beautiful sandy surfing beach at Putsborough is also very close, as well as Woolacombe and Saunton beaches. Georgeham itself has a shop and two excellent village pubs, both within a very short walking distance!
The sitting room has a wonderful solid wood floor and a big comfortable L-shape sofa (also a sofa bed). There is a flatscreen TV with Freeview, DVD/CD player, WiFi internet access, books and games and kids will love the PlayStation on a rainy day! The impressive original inglenook fireplace has a woodburner to keep warm and cosy on chilly evenings. Logs are kindly supplied.
The open plan kitchen and dining room has everything you could need during your stay. It has a lovely country cottage feel with a flagstone floor and exposed beams on the ceiling. Appliances include a fridge/freezer, double oven, electric hob, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and all the essential kitchen utensils, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery (including children’s). A high chair is provided.
Bedroom 1: First floor master bedroom with king size double bed, built in wardrobes, a large chest of drawers and a pretty feature fireplace.
Bedroom 2: First floor king size double bedroom with storage furniture.
Bedroom 3: Upstairs twin bedroom, ideal for children to share.
In the lounge there is a sofa bed accommodating an extra 2 people. Please bring your own bed linen for the sofa bed.
A travel cot is provided.
The family bathroom is upstairs and has a bath with shower over, wash basin and WC. Bath towels are provided.
There is small front garden and a large rear lawned garden. The patio area has a picnic bench which is lovely to sit at for morning coffee or an evening BBQ. A gas BBQ is provided. The garden is also fantastic for watching the sunset!
There is off-road parking for 1 large or 2 small cars.

WALK TO - Georgeham village with excellent local pubs and village store. For walkers there is the fantastic South West Coast Path just a few minutes away.
CYCLE TO - Braunton village, Croyde Beach, Putsborough Beach. Croyde is a magical place nestling around a stream running down to the sea. This award-winning sandy beach is fine and flat, ideal for children and good for surfing. With Rock pools in abundance and dunes a haven for young and intrepid explorers. Local fun parks for the children such as Cascades Pool Park are a great way to spend the day. Croyde Bay is renowned as a premier surfing beach destination in England for short and long boards. For the more adventurous, kite surfing, volley ball, kayaking and horse riding is on your doorstep. Within walking distance of Croyde beach enjoy its ice cream shop, gourmet restaurants, superb village pubs, surf shops, and art gallery. This classic 'chocolate-box' village is steeped in old-world charm and echoes the feeling of life in Britain in times gone by. Coastal and Countryside walks include the majestic Croyde cliff path to Baggy Point, (and for those energetic), to Woolacombe and beyond.
A day at historic Braunton Burrows is great.
Cyclists can enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon.
DRIVE TO - Putsborough, Saunton, Woolacombe, Barnstaple, North Devon towns and villages. Explore the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep all within a short driving distance. Cultural days can be passed at Arlington Court, historic Clovelly Village, Watermouth Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth, Victorian-styled Ilfracombe with its quaint fishing harbour and many more. Saunton Golf Course is a mere 3 miles down the road with its 2 famous links courses. Finally, picturesque walks through beautiful forested areas and running rivers such as at Watersmeet will complete your wonderful stay in this beautiful part of England.
A short-drive to the blue flag beach of Putsborough is approximately 1 3/4 miles from Georgeham.
Putsborough is a classic surf beach on the North Devon coast and is surrounded by National Trust land with breathtaking views and numerous walks.
