Recently constructed, this 3000 SF private home is set on 20 acres of lawn, meadow and woodland with fabulous views to Camel's Hump and the Adirondack Mountains. It is just 1/4 mile to Lake Champlain. We are on the Lake Champlain bikeway with miles of gorgeous roads that wind through farms and small towns. Kingsland Bay State Park with swimming, boat rentals, function space and hiking is just a 5-10 minute walk. Check out Kingsland Bay State Park website. The town beach, a short walk is a great place to launch a kayak or paddle board or hike out to the point for great views of the lake and better swimming. The nearby "Slang" is a popular fishing and kayak launch. See the Bald Eagle's nest there. Button Bay Park is nearby. The town of Vergennes is 7 miles away and features several great restaurants and shops. Shelburne Village, Shelburne Farms (a kid favorite!!!) and Shelburne Museum are about a 15 minute drive; Middlebury/Middlebury College is 20 minutes south. Burlington, with lakeside parks, restaurants, culture and shops is 30-40 minutes north. The car ferry to New York/Adirondacks on Lake Champlain is 20 minutes away. See the lake and have lunch on the NY side!. Hiking the Adirondacks is fantastic. Mount Philo, a popular hike for the whole family is 15 minutes away and offers wonderful views of Lake Champlain and the DAKS. Basin Harbor Golf Course is nearby and there is a small driving range minutes from the house. Let's not forget the popular breweries and Vineyards all around this area. Try the Hired Hand Brewery in Vergennes or Fiddleheads in Shelburne. The Shelburne Winery has tastings and summer concert series. Grab a pizza from Folinos and bring it to the Vineyard's outdoor seating. Staying at home and relishing the peace and quiet of this rural farm country is the best. This is our own private vacation home with lots of beautiful details. It is the perfect destination for family gatherings, lake activities and just a great escape from everyday living. The upstairs has central AC and we have a window unit on the first floor if needed. Bathroom floors have radiant heat. Outside we have a picnic table, hammock, portable firepit and additional seating. Bring your boats or rent one. It is easy to launch nearby. Internet provided. We provide all linens, towels, starter TP, paper towels, dish soap, hair dryer, iron, kitchen utensils, wood for the fireplaces, trash bins, etc. The house will be stocked with various dry goods, trash bags, cleaning supplies, and laundry soap since we use it ourselves. If you are the last person to use something please let us know so we can restock. The kitchen features a stainless steel refrigerator, Wolf gas stove, dishwasher, Corian tops and plenty of dishes and glasses. Our children have named the house "Camp David" for the total relaxation and renewal they feel after every visit and escape from their hectic city jobs. We hope you love it as much as we do. Be sure to get my insiders guide for things to do in the area if it isn't visible in the listing. Please check out our guest reviews. As we find interest from renters we will update the calendar to carve out time for ourselves so the calendar will be adjusted as we go. If you are looking for a great respite, but close enough to restaurants, shops and outdoor activities, this is it. A recent family just wrote: "Thanks very much for the use of your place, we had a great time, used the lake several times, day trip to lake George, hiked camel hump a few times, and relaxed a whole lot....the place is beautiful, you guys have done a great job with it. " We do take some pets pending review and do charge a pet fee in that case. We limit our guests staying at the house to 9 guests. Our care taker will open the house for you and check on you during your stay in case you need anything. We prefer on line booking and it is very easy for you to track your stay and all the information you need. VRBO charges a small fee to use the service.

About Mary and Michael LeBlanc
My husband is a building contractor and I am a landscape designer on Cape Cod. This is our own personal vacation home. We have decided to do some renting as we have busy lives and don't get to use the house as much as we would like.
Why Mary and Michael LeBlanc chose Ferrisburgh
I went to school at UVM and my husband's family had an estate in Central Vermont. When that was sold, we decided to purchase our own piece of land and build a vacation home in beautiful Vermont. It is so peaceful and relaxing here.
What makes this House unique
There are so many interesting details in this home. Crafted with materials from the land. The bedrooms are huge and the beds are so comfortable. The screened porch has been a huge favorite. If you love fireplaces like we do, you will love this house. If you are an early riser, the deer come through the property and the sunrises over Camel's Hump are breathtaking. It is very private and some nights the light show from fireflies is just amazing! We have owls on the property and a pair of Bald Eagles down the street not to mention so many other birds. We are outside as much as we can and just revel in nature. The location is a great combination of pastoral cow country, watersports, biking/hiking, and great dining nearby. Although you might not want to leave the property!

Fabulous location, wonderful house!
We enjoyed everything about Michael and Mary LeBlancs lovely house in Ferrisburgh, VT. The house is loving designed, with extensive use of local stone and detailed stonework throughout. The bedrooms are airy and well lit by daylight, and the common rooms seem to demand spirited discussions and togetherness. My youngest daughter graduated at UVM, and her sisters and two husbands and one grandchild all had a marvelous time throughout the weekend. I have to particularly mention the lovely porch. With a large, well designed fireplace and stone floors, this room had comfortable chairs and a cozy couch. We all gravitated to this room, as it was a great place to watch the sun rise. We also enjoyed the lake and ponds that were so close to the house. I wished I had brought along a sailboat!
The amenities were all first rate, lovely china, a wide assortment of glasses, lush sheets and towels gave us a wonderful feeling of luxury.
I contacted Ken, the caretaker several times with questions. He immediately provided just what I needed, and I had no doubt that he would provide anything we needed.
The property is immaculately cared for, and you will be impressed by the attention to detail that the LeBlanc's provide.
We enjoyed The Gryphon in Burlington, and also Maribelle, two wonderful restaurants. Locally we found great takeout and a close by gas station.
YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE! Don't miss it!
Dear Richard and family , this is such a nice review! We so appreciate it. Too bad you are done with UVM:) We like your suggestions too. Come back and visit anytime. Many thanks, Mary and Michael
Wonderful Lake Champlain retreat
There are so many wonderful things to share about this unique property. From the moment you turn into the immaculately maintained gravel driveway there is a sense of serenity and simplicity married with comfort and ease. The home is beautiful without pretentiousness but also well designed to promote a relaxed livability. It was a dream to prepare meals in the spacious, well appointed kitchen and we loved stocking the beverage fridge with local brews. There were welcoming gathering spaces, especially the screened-in porch but also plenty of tucked away places for guests to have solitude for reading, napping or just watching the sky. Everyone is now lusting after those anti-gravity chairs that are on the porch!
The spaciousness of the property encourages relaxation and renewal. The only noises are the birds and cicadas-no loud music, no rushing cars. Sadly, clouds blocked our view of the Perseids meteor showers but I can imagine great sky watching from the back yard.
The house is beautifully maintained and immaculate. We had one issue with a beeping alarm after a power outage (the generator started up seamlessly) but the caretaker was able resolve the problem immediately- a quick press of the alarm button on the fridge and we enjoying the night noises once again.
We had great kayaking from Town Beach and the 2 different launch sites in the nearby Lower Otter Creek Wildlife Management area. Lots of egrets, herons and cormorants when we paddled in the marshes. The kayaks at the home are very good and a pleasure to use! Biking in the area is also terrific. I highly recommend biking the trail from Burlington to South Hero-the scenery is spectacular. The ferry from Charlotte to Essex is also a great way to see more of the lake. Once on the New York side we hiked on Split Mountain and had the trail nearly to ourselves.
I was hoping for a dream family vacation after a several year hiatus when busy lives got in the way. 'Camp David' delivered on all counts-comfort, ease, beauty, thoughtful and attentive hosts, great location. Don't hesitate to book this property!
Hi Jeanette, all we can say is "Wow". What a thoughtful review. We so enjoy hearing about your adventures. Many thanks and hope you get those family reunions more often! Best, Mary and Michael
Spectacular Vermont vacation!
Our family (including three teenagers and our dog) has just returned from an amazing week together at the Le Blancs' fantastic home. Beautifully situated and impeccably furnished, this lovely house offered everything we could have hoped for in a Vermont vacation. We spent nearly all of our time at the house playing in the yard or on the screened in porch (a perfect room if ever there was one). The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need to prepare a wonderful meal - and if dining out is your preference, there are several great options from which to choose. We had a wonderful time swimming at Kingsland Bay Park, exploring the vast grounds and exhibits at the Shelburne Museum (not to be missed!) and enjoying all that the Shelburne Farm has to offer (cheesemaking and baby animals were clear favorites). We also enjoyed a true beach day in Burlington at North Beach Park. Another afternoon was spent at the charming Willow House antique shop in Shelburne, with a great lunch to follow at Barkeater's. Most memorable of all were evenings spent relaxing on the farmers' porch, and enjoying the amazing view and sightings of deer, hawks, a family of turkeys, and a baby fox. We were sorry to have to leave - would love to visit again sometime!
Thank you Robin! We are always thrilled when guests love the house and property as much as we do. Last year we had a mother fox and her babies playing and romping around the shed and it was great to watch them play like puppies. Glad you had a good week. Come back anytime. Best, Mary and Michael
We had a great time. The home is lovely and comfortable
Thank you for the nice words Vic and Carol and for taking such good care of the house. Good luck with the baby and hope to see you again. Mary and Michael
Thanks for sharing your home with us again.
The home is a superb property in a fantastic location.
We enjoyed x-country skiing, dog sledding, good food in Burlington & Vergenes and watching the eagle peek out of its nest.
Also: winter Olympics were an added bonus.
Thanks Craig! You were great guests as always. I need to go dog sledding!!! Mary
