This amazing fully serviced apartment in Cannes, was perfect for congress, and the MIPIM and MIPTV events.The location is perfect for the 4 day real estate exhibition, and had clean and high end interior, great ambience and is perfect for business or potential owners, but was ideal for me. I will definitely use this for the Cannes Film Festival too, something that it is well placed for and near to. This was the best quality apartment in Cannes for congresses and holidays that I have stayed in to date.
A beautifully elegant apartment with lots of space in a lovely neighbourhood. I have stayed in a number of apartments in la Banane over the years and whilst this is a block outside it was actually quicker to get to the Palais. It was also fantastic value and is in a lovely neighbourhood with beautiful architecture and a very friendly local restaurant for getting away from the nonsense on La Croisette.
I thoroughly recommend a stay here if you want space, peace and quiet but with proximity to Le Palais.
We had a most enjoyable stay in the apartment Blanc for the MIPCOM 2012 festival. The position is ideal as it is close to the Palais which suited us very well. There were four representatives from my company but the apartment would comfortably fit six people. I was impressed with how modern the property is, the decor and furnishing are smart, stylish and comfortable, the kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances.
The owner's customer service was fine.
I enjoyed my stay and would heartily recommend it.
Stayed at this bright, clean and spacious apartment with colleagues for MIPM. Excellent location, very close to the Palais and everything was within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.
After negotiationg the rush hour traffic and the numerous traffic lights we arrived at the apartment, still under an hour from when the plane touched down.
We were very pleased to note that the apartment was every bit as large, stylish and immaculate as the advertisment advised. 3 large double bedrooms a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious lounge and eating area. It was more than big enough to accommodate 8 girls and still not feel you are under everyones feet. Although the modern touches have been added this has been done without compromising the period features in the property.
I'ts a 6-7 minute walk into town and all the bars and restaurants. We didn't have a bad meal while we were there and thought the standard of food was excellent. In particular the Le Rendezous restaurant where service and food was faultless. A couple of bars are quite pricey with a vodka and mixer at 12euros but other than that we couldn't find fault.
The old town offers more intimate dining with a large choice of restaurants serving more traditional French cuisine.
We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the harbour admiring all the yachts and having a stroll along the beach. There are plenty of high end designer shops if shopping is your thing.
I would definitely recommed the accommodation, Cannes and the sunny weather !!
I think our first words on entering the apartment were "wow, this place is stunning"! The property is beautifully presented with a perfect blend of grandeur and simplicity, comfort and indulgence. It is stylish, clean and impeccably well maintained - a cool, calm haven in an enormously convenient location. The apartment and surrounding streets have traditional charm whilst being within a short walk from the seafront, the old town and the shopping mecca of Rue D'Antibes.
The owner gave exceptional customer service. Each piece of correspondance was individually tailored towards us and we felt very much like welcome guests. The literature in the apartment gave us really useful descriptions of restaurants and bars in and around Cannes along with ideas of nearby places to visit and things to do. This really helped maximise our time away and made sure we ate and drank like queens!
I wouldn't hesitate for a second in recommending this property to a friend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back!
The apartment is Ideally located for exploring the whole of the Cote d'Azur; Nice, Monaco, St Tropez, Port Grimaud, St Paul de Vence, Gourdon and the mountains are all within an hours drive. Cannes centre is very compact and is a lovely place to wander around on foot. Local shops, restaurants, supermarket, banks, chemist, bakery etc are in the immediate vicinity. The nearby Marché Forville is the covered produce market in Cannes. Stalls sell a wonderful selection of vegetables, fruit, fish, oysters, patés and olives. Visit on a Saturday, and the surrounding bars and cafés get packed with locals enjoying drinks and lunch after the market closes. Beaches: Lovely private and public beaches are within a 10 min walk from the apartment. Skiing: skiing is about about 1 ½ drive away in the resorts of Auron, Isola 2000 and Valberg. You can go for a days trip and return in the evening.
The French Riviera
Long before it became the mecca of the sun-worshipping 21st Century tourist, the Riviera was popular among foreigners as a winter resort.
Lord Brougham, the Lord Chancellor of England, was accustomed to the winter in Nice but in 1834 was forced by an outbreak of cholera in Provence to stay in Cannes. He liked it so much he built a house where he stayed until his death in 1868.
Other famous Englishmen who made their home on the Riviera, were the writers Somerset Maugham in Cap Ferrat, Graham Greene in Antibes, and the film actor/writer, Sir Dirk Bogarde, who was President of the Cannes Film Festival in 1984, when he lived near Grasse.
Another foreign colony was the Russian nobility, who until the Revolution in 1917, were regularly joined by the Imperial Court. Their legacy is a number of beautiful Russian Orthodox churches in Cannes, Nice and Menton.
The Americans began to make there mark in the 1920s - Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford from the film world, Ernest Hemingway and Scott Fitzgerald, the writers, and the young Americans with Money. They introduced jazz, the music of Cole Porter and sunbathing. There was more jazz at the end of the second world war stimulated by the US Naval base: the Juan-les-Pins Jazz Festival dates from this period.
In the 1930s many German artists in exile settled in Sanary-sur-Mer. Other communities of artists have been established in Vallauris, where Picasso revived the traditional craft of pottery and which now hosts a bi-annual International Festival of Ceramic Art (July to mid October), and in St-Paul-de-Vence, where James Baldwin, the American author lived for many years.
Monaco, where fortunes have been lost and won on the gaming tables, still attracts a significant number of wealthy tax exiles.
