Quiet, out of the way getaway with spectacular view

  • 5 of 5

The perfect place to get away from it all. High up in the mountains with a spectacular view of the surrounding hills, valleys and countryside. The property has everything you need, and Beatrice is a great host.

20TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

  • 5 of 5

WE CHOSE THIS BEAUTIFULL LITTLE VILLA FOR OUR 20TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, IT LIVED UP TO OUR DREAMS , EVEN BETTER THE VIEWS WERE AMAZING SOMETHING WHICH WILL STAY WITH US FOREVER, EVERY MORNING IT WAS THE FIRST THING YOU SAW OUT THE WINDOWS ,.

BEATRIZ MET US WHEN WE ARRIVED AND SHOWED US AROUND, ALSO WE HAD A LOVELY BASKET OF THINGS TO GET US BY BEFORE WE WENT SHOPPING, VERY HANDY.

EVERYTHING WAS SO CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE, THE POOL WAS A BIT COLD BUT IT WARMED UP THE SECOND WEEK, WE WENT TO TEROR MARKET ON THE SUNDAY VERY PREETY AND SOME NICE LITTLE SHOPS.

THE NEAREST LITTLE SHOP NEAR THE VILLA IS VERY HANDY AND THE OWNER IS VERY FRIENDLY.

WE HAD SUCH A LOVELY TIME IT WAS LIKE HOME FROM HOME SO COSY,

WE ARE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR.

THANKYOU BEATRIZ

Maravilloso

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic property in a beautiful location. It is well equipped and we were delighted to receive such a lovely welcome pack. The views from the garden are fabulous and there are shops and a restaurant nearby. We are happy to recommend it and enjoyed it so much ourselves that we are already planning our return visit.

Great private getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We come here for the last years to spend a week around Xmas and each time it feels like coming home. The house is great with all the facilities you need to make a fantastic holiday. There are great hiking facilities in the neighbourhood, you have your private pool and you're far away from the tourist craze... Great value for money and for sure a place I can recommend.

Excellent Stay...quiet, great location, clean and well maintained. Great value

Had an excellent one week stay here

Booking was a breeze...Beatriz was very responsive to emails and provided timely answers to all questions. Payment was fast and efficient

The villa was exactly like the pictures...large south facing patio with incredible views. Small unheated pool which was a bit too cool for us at the end of January. BBQ and lots of outdoor seating.

Inside there are 2 large rooms...one is a living room/kitchen...there are two large facing sofas with a coffee table in between. Large flat screen TV with BBC/Sky in English and lots of German channels. Books case with reading material and videos and lots of tourist info. Dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped...fridge, cook top, oven, large fridge and lots of utensils and crockery. The bedroom is down a step...lots of closet space and a comfortable bed with 2 bedside tables. There is no door between the bedroom and the toilet area...large walk in shower.

There are lots of windows ( they open ) so unit is very bright. It was spotless when we arrived. Very much liked the welcome package...bottle of cava, tea, coffee, bread, pasta, sauce....enough to keep you going until you get to the market. Wifi was fast and efficient. No clothes washing machine but there is a machine available in the unit next door. We found it to be very quiet, both day and night.

This unit definitely requires a car. You are 5.5 km from nearest town, Santa Brigida on a mostly 2 lane paved road that is twisty and not well lite. Not a bad drive but it means driver needs to watch wine intake ! The unit is near a small town ,La Solona, that has 2 grocery stores that carry basics. It also has a bar/cafe which unfortunately was closed while we were there due to a change in ownership. It appeared to be ready for reopening when we left and having a bar/cafe within walking distance would be a major plus. It is great location for visiting other town and sites in the area.

Only thing we didn't like was the access to the villa...steep, narrow, road with a 3 point switchback at the bottom. Also need to back out about 100 meters to the switchback. We did it once that was enough..we left the car at the top and walked up/down...a good cardiac workout but not for those with knee or back issues. Road was bad enough in day time and would definitely not attempt it at night. Having said that Beatriz went in and out with no problems.

Definitely highly recommended...an excellent value for the money spent.

From the house, a narrow footpath winds its way up to the parking area and the village above of Solana de Utiaca. Within walking distance, this small village has a grocery store, although for a greater selection of amenities Santa Brígida and the market town of Vega de San Mateo is a 15-minute drive.

The city of Las Palmas and so the coastline is only at 20km. Within 30 minutes drive, a great variety of beaches can be reached, all of them away from mass tourism. Melenara, Las Canteras or San Andrés give you the opportunity to spend the day in the beach in a family mood with the local people. Then, with the sunset, you may enjoy a dinner of fresh fish at any of the inexpensive restaurants around the area.

The Real Club de Golf the Las Palmas is within 15-minute drive of the villa next to the stunning Caldera de Bandama, a 200-meter-deep volcanic crater, on whose peak you will find an observation platform that affords you a scenic vista of the island. Kill two birds with one stone!

Other Activities: Contemplation of volcanic geography, visiting archaeological and ethnographic sites, hiking
