This lovely French home has all the amenities you could wish for.
There are three bedrooms, each with its own toilet, basin and shower arrangements, and one having an ensuite bathroom.
All rooms have the best quality beds for your total comfort. The main bedroom has a double bed, whilst the other bedrooms have two three foot singles that can be joined together to make doubles as required.
The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven; a Gas hob, and a Microwave oven. There is also a Spanish plancher on the terrace for those who enjoy impromptu al fresco meals. There is plenty of crockery and cutlery; and the amenities include a dish washer; two fridges and a washing machine. The dining room has a feature of a long table made by a local artisan that can seat twelve people if required!
Internet access, many board games, and British television channels are available for those who want to keep up with their favourite weekly soaps. We even have a family of red squirrels in the garden, and there is a prize of a bottle of wine to whoever can get a photo of two of them together. Well nigh impossible - but it has been done!
Being inland from the Atlantic, the Charente benefits from a micro-climate and experiences the second most sunshine hours within France after the Mediterranean coast. You can enjoy the morning sun having breakfast on the terrace, and you will certainly want to take advantage of our swimming pool. The sun is constantly on the pool which is 10m long by 5m wide. There are roman steps down to the shallow end at approx. 1m and it falls away to 1m75cm at the deep end. There are ample sun umbrellas to shade you from the heat of the day.
For the more energetic, we have bicycles to explore the region.
Situated in a small commune in amongst vineyards, we are very close to the 14th tee of the Cognac Golf course, for those who wish to keep up with their handicap. The scenic Charente River is less than a mile away and there are canoes in nearby Jarnac for the energetic. We are only 5kms from the famous old town of Cognac with all its cognac wineries and tastings. The Department capital, Angouleme with its famous cartoons, is only 35 minutes away by car. The nearest coast is at Royan with its lovely sandy beaches and small bays about 50 minutes away.
You are guaranteed a relaxing holiday in a most beautiful and tranquil area of France.
