Wonderful apartment - a real home from home
The apartment is superbly located just a minutes walk from the beautiful old town of Altea and under 10 minutes down to the seafront - both locations have a great choice of bars, restaurants and shops. It is vey spacious and enjoys lots of natural light with the living area and 2 of the 3 bedrooms leading onto the large terrace. There is a sea view between the buildings and just great to sit on the terrace having breakfast and watching the light twinkling on the blue sea - definitely missing this daily treat! Stylishly furnished and sparkling clean - every facility has been thought of and provided from a hairdryer to a CD player - even handwash, plenty of toilet rolls and the all important washing machine. The underground car park is easy to access and the space is a great size. We felt incredibly safe and secure during our stay (even though not aware of any crime in the area!) as all windows had drop down shutters and the terrace access was lockable. We stayed in November and the evenings were quite chilly, but the apartment always felt warm and there was plenty of hot water, Wi-fi is very important to us and the signal was very good so we were able to research local resorts and restaurants etc. As mentioned in other reviews, there is a degree of walking up hills especially after visiting the seafront area, but we found it a great way to keep the weight off after enjoying a bit too much of the wonderful Spanish food & drink! The tram station is easily accessed and there are a number of options to use the local buses. We used the number 10 bus to go to Benidorm a few times and went to Calpe by tram. In summary, the apartment is a great place to stay to enjoy the varied delights of Altea and to visit the many wonderful local resorts. While very stylish it also feels homely, safe and comfortable - you will not be disappointed and we will be back
Ver nice apartment
We were very pleased with location of this apartment, only a few minutes’ walk up hill to the old town which came alive after 7.00pm, plenty of individual shops and restaurants to choose from. The station was down quite steep hill in places but only 10 minutes walk, with trains every hour to Calp and towards Alicante. The airport s about an hour’s drive away.
It wasn't initially easy to find the apartment as some of the road names don't appear to match those on the Tom-tom with lots of one way streets too. Follow the owners directions.
The apartment is very nice and you can see the sea from the balcony however, the general outlook from the villa is not great and can also be a bit noisy from the traffic. However, inside the apartment it is quiet enough.
At the time of year we went (July) meant the sun was high and didn't shine onto the balcony until late afternoon.
Altea is a very nice town and well worth visiting. Along with Calp which is just up the road, Altea promenade/sea front is also very nice.
The pool isn't a place you would sit and enjoy although very clean, better off going to the beach.
Lovely apartment and great location
The apartment is very comfortable and located a short walk from the old town square. It was just as easy walking down to the promenade too, however it is quite a steep climb back up. Large balcony with enough room for the five of us to dine.
The apartment has underground parking, but we found that we did not need it as there was always room on the street.
We really enjoyed Altea and will definitely be back again and would not have a second thought about staying in the apartment again.
First time in Altea which is a lovely village with narrow roads and a beautiful square and Church. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and in an ideal location for exploring the area.
Great apartment close to everything
The apartment was everything I expected. The facilities were good and very clean, the wifi was good, and the underground parking was a very convenient bonus. The communication with the owner was very good and I can't think of anything negative to say, my stay was fantastic.
I'm very active and so it wasn't a problem, but if anyone struggles to walk up a steep hill (only 25 metres though), or has to use a wheelchair, the apartment might not be suitable. I must stress that for most people, this is absolutely no issue, just for elderly or disabled.
I would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely book again.
Lovely apartment in a great location. Lovely people, food and weather
Great. Clean bright and well equipped apartment. Plenty of space and seating indoor and outside. Well equipped kitchen.
Altea is often said to be the most beautiful town on the Costa Blanca. It is also probably the least exploited and here tourists blend into daily Spanish life. The apartment is in a great location with both seafront and old town within short walking distance. The charm of the old town makes it a haven for artists and as you wander through the streets, you’ll find many of their galleries here as well as little boutiques and restaurants that spill out onto the pavements. The focal point of the old town is the lively church square with restaurants, cafes and bars. At the seafront, Altea has excellent beach or there are larger sandy beaches just a short drive or train ride away in Calpe (20 mins) or Benidorm (15 minutes). There are also tourist attractions such as Aqualandia, Mundomar, Terra Mitica and fantastic natural parks, Terra Natura and Aqua Natura close by. The region has long sunny summers and one of the mildest winters in Spain making it a great place to visit all year round.
