La Fuente is nestled on the side of a valley with beautiful sea and mountain views. The self catering accommodation comprises four/five bedrooms, two large living rooms (one with bed settee), three bathrooms, two kitchens and two nayas. There is a large private garden with pool and sunbathing area and upper terrace with barbecue. The villa and apartment are well equipped and attractively presented with good quality bed linen, towels and kitchen equipment. It sleeps 12 people in all (including sofa bed). We aim to make the villa a relaxing home from home and have furnished and equipped it to the sort of standard we would hope for in holiday accommodation. It is a few minutes drive from the lovely El Portet beach and Moraira town centre with its range of shops, restaurants and amenities. The whole area is relatively unspoilt with stunning scenery inland and a beautiful coastline.
Beaches : The nearest beach to the villa is El Portet. It is a pretyy beach which shelves out gently and is ideal for children. There is another larger beach in Moraira town. Both beaches have bar/restaurant and toilet facilities. The attractive resort of Javea is about a 20 minute drive away and has a beautiful beach. If you like long, quiet stretches of sandy beaches then there are also many of these towards Oliva and Gandia.
Local area and further afield: Moraira has a good selection of shops, restaurants and other amenities. It is an attractive town and has escaped the trappings of mass tourism.. The nearby towns of Teulada, Benissa and Gata are also worth exploring, with their pretty back streets and Spanish feel. Altea is picture postcard Spain in the old town and has a lovely church perched on top of the hill with great views of the surrounding area. Denia, good for shopping and the nearest port, with regular ferries to the Balearics, is about 30 minutes drive away. A short drive inland will take you through some fantastic mountain scenery and there are many excellent restaurants where you can dine well but inexpensively. In many restaurants the Menu del Dia is still only around12 euros per person for a three course meal with wine. The Fonts Algar waterfalls and Guadalest are well worth a visit if you venture inland. If you would like to visit somewhere more livlely, Benidorm is a half an hour away with its many attractions for children, including Aqualandia and Mundomar. Equally, if you are looking for the real Spain, you will find it in the towns and villages a few miles inland. Valencia and Alicante are both impressive places to visit with interesting historic sights, galleries, excellent shops and many other unique attractions. We provide guests with a full range of tips for eating and leisure to suit all tastes to help make sure they have the best holiday possible.
We visited Moraira for a holiday a few years before purchasing the villa and ended up going back there again and again because we loved the area so much. Sometimes we were disappointed by the standard of accommodation we had and often thought how nice it would be to have our own place there, but thought it was something we could look into nearer retirement. However we came across this villa and liked the position - we only went for a quick look out of curiosity but somehow ended up buying it!! It has taken a lot of work (and money!!) to get it up to the standard it is now and (like many owners, no doubt) we have had more then our fair share of stress along the way, but now we are very thankful we have it!!
Liz Hutson purchased this villa in 2003
We think the villa is in an ideal location; it has great hill and mountain views as well as a lovely sea view from many aspects. It is peaceful but not isolated and has several nooks and crannies where you can tuck yourself away as well as good communal areas so you can be as sociable or private as you like. It has a lovely 'feel' (difficult to communicate in pictures!!) and it is a very pretty walk to the beach. There is plenty of space and we like the shape and flow of the villa.
The apartment downstairs has a really good amount of space and is handy for guests to stay if they want some privacy, so there is the potential for families/friends to be together but not get under each other's feet. The views are good from virtually every room and it has a light and airy feel throughout. The dining area (naya) in the main villa can seat up to 12, so is great for family get togethers and the barbeque area will also comfortably seat twelve. There is a lovely balcony in the main villa which is ideal for morning coffee and the apartment has it's own seating/dining areas in the living room, naya and outside, so there are many options for groups, regardless of size and preferences.
We have been on holiday to this villa for the past 8 years and have always found it to be absolutely fabulous. It is well appointed and maintained with plenty of room to spread out - beds are very comfortable - all you could really wish for. There is a superb pool and terrace area with enough room for the largest family to sunbathe and eat out.
The split level arrangement i.e. main villa at the top and smaller apartment (but even better appointed) below at the pool level would suit families or groups who want to be independent of each other. There is a barbeque located on the upper terrace and ample covered off road parking space
The area is quiet and peaceful but only a short drive to Moraira town with all its shops and restaurants.
Lastly we always find the local narrow gauge railway (Local station Teulada 15 mins) most useful where for a few Euro you can visit all the resorts along the coast Denia to Alicante) without the hassle of driving and finding a parking space.
All in all a lovely villa in a lovely location - it must be good as we have spent happy holidays there for the past 8 years and look forward to another in 2014
Relaxed holiday, Peace and quiet, Nice pool, Good location.. Brilliant barbecue area.. Good sun terraces. Villa was perfect. Nice to find the villa you have booked exceeds your expectations. We spent 14 excellent days here.
Really would like to keep this villa a secret as we had such an enjoyable stay and look forward to returning next year and the foreseeable future. This villa is very well cared for and met our expectations and more. We a family of five with small children travelled with my parents found the layout of the villa superb as it had a separate apartment downstairs for Granddad and Granny to get a little break from the little ones. The villa was very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, great WiFi and other amenities. The pool was great too with great views and safe access to it. Lovely location, safe, secure and quiet. Could not rate this villa highly enough.
Our family group, 6 adults and two grandchildren, stayed for 8 days during the Whitsun school break as part of my wife and my golden wedding anniversary celebrations.
The villa was ideal for the 8 of us and came up completely to expectation as described on the Owners website. The family bedroom was ideal for one son, his wife and their two young children, 8yo and almost 3yo as the partition could be pulled to giving the parents some relief at night. Our younger son and his partner occupied the lower apartment, again this was ideal as they tend to be late risers!
The property was clean and in very good order. The beds were comfortable, so often when away one finds hard mattresses. There was ample cutlery, cooking utensils and plates, bowls etc. There is also plenty of room fro a large number of occupants. The pool was a reasonable size; it might be a bit crowded if everybody in a group of 12 people wanted to get in the pool at the same time (the property can sleep up to 12 persons).
Access to the property from Moraira/Teulada is reasonable if you go the long way round. The villa is amongst a fair sized conurbation and one way is via a fairly rough road through a wooded area, but the owner did provide alternative directions. We arrived about midnight and had we read the directions correctly, would have had no problem, but we missed one important detail and attempted to enter the wrong property! Our fault entirely.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends considering a large party. My wife and I have been to Moraira four times now; we like the area as it is more suited to our lifestyle than some of the more rowdy areas, Benidorm etc and can recommend numerous eating places in Moraira itself. The natives are all friendly, too!
The owner has in-country local support for cleaning, maintenance and pool maintenance and this was in evidence.
My husband and I have just spent a week at La Fuente. It simply wasn't long enough! The villa is very clean, well equipped and extremely comfortable. It provided everything we had expected from the description - and more!
The villa has lots of character. We particularly liked the spacious lounge with windows on all sides providing wonderful views down the valley to the sea. The balcony was the perfect spot for breakfast as well as drinks in the evening. This was one of the most relaxing holidays we've had.
We have decided to return next year with our children and grandchildren, as the villa, apartment and gardens are spacious enough to accommodate a large family party.
We also loved the location. It is situated in a quiet residential area only a few minutes from the delightful small town of Moraira. There are a good number of restaurants to choose from, offering a variety of cuisines. There are also some lovely shops to browse in. The beach is very picturesque and not too busy. Perfect for young children.
There are many activities on offer nearby and places of interest to visit. However, this is also the ideal place to relax and unwind without venturing very far.
The owner, Liz, was extremely helpful in answering our questions as we planned our holiday.
I would strongly recommend La Fuente to anyone looking for a stylish, spacious, quietly situated villa, in very pretty surroundings.
We had a wonderful time at La Fuente. The villa is clean, spacious, well equiped and surrounded by a beautiful garden with a nice pool. We spent cosy evenings with bbq on the patio or by the fireside.
The wifi was very fast. We could even stream movies and music.
The owner, Liz, was very friendly and helpful and provided a lot of information about the house and the surrounding.
We would and we have recommend this property to others and will certainly visit La Fuente again.
Fantastic villa, clean and well equipped more gadgets than at home! Beautiful, peaceful setting lovely for bbq's in the evening. Plenty of room and seating inside and out there were 11 in our party and we could still find a peaceful spot! Liz the owner was easy to contact and very helpful. Can't wait to go back to La Feunte such a wonderful holiday.
La Fuente is set on the side of a hill with beautiful views of the sea and the hills. It is only a few minutes' drive to the lovely town of Moraira, with its range of shops, restaurants and beaches. Moraira is an ideal base, having everything you could need to enjjoy a relaxing holiday but there are many other places of interest in the surrounding area. A short trip takes you up into the mountains, with their stunning scenery, rangte of walks and the famous El Algar waterfalls. The old town of Altea is particularly picturesque and the costal resorts of Javea and Denia are only a short drive away. Visit the La marina shopping centre for a range of unusual shops or the culture and history of Alicante or Valencia. There are many places where you can purchase a three course meal for around 12 euros and a range of ultra fine dining options too - in short, something for everyone!
There are a number of golf courses nearby. Javea is the nearest to the villa and is about 10 minutes drive away. There are several bodegas (wine tasting) in the area, watersports, gardens and larger attractions such as water parks. There are also many local markets to visit with beautiful fresh produce and many bargains, as well as some lovely walks and cycle rides. We provide full information for our clients prior to their trip so they can plan well ahead if they wish to. But for those simply wishing to relax and have everything they need close to hand, there is no need to travel far if you don't want to!.
