Generously Appointed with 5 bedrooms, 2 En-suite. Master with King Bed & bath.

Our lovely 5 bedroom house is a uniquely wooden fronted Edwardian dwelling. Our best guess is that the wooden frontage was designed to reflect the Corpus Christi & University sports house opposite. People are often surprised at the space once inside, the frontage hides the depth, space and floors provided inside this unique property. The living room is dominated by 2 large open fireplaces with beautiful Art Nouveau tiles that have provided the colour palette for the rest of the room. The wooden floor has been painted in a stunning new Farrow and Ball colour. The furniture is contemporary and the living room is set out in 2 seating zones around each fire place, 1 for viewing the 42 inch TV with sound bar and another for relaxing, reading, etc. The large and spacious kitchen includes a lovely 8 seater dinning table. The downstairs layout and space makes it possible for a family or group to all comfortably be in each room at the same time or to spread out in 3 separate areas. On the first floor there are 3 double bedrooms including the master and on the second floor there is a small double room and a twin. Parking can be arranged upon request.

About Marc

Diane & Marc are a Mother and Son team who enjoy hosting guests. We have welcomed visitors to Oxford for many years, initially we hosted students in our own home and then for a number of years we ran a very busy Guesthouse. With a long family tradition in hospitality we hope our experience will provide guests with a professional feel and an enjoyable stay. Cleanliness and Comfort are our first priority. We like to add some defining touches and include those little things a visitor may forget to bring with them. When travelling, often time is short, we provide the information, basics and comfort so guests may maximise their time spent in Oxford for sightseeing, business and relaxation. Both of us have a passion for cooking, I enjoy traveling, being outdoors, City breaks and I have an ongoing love affair with Iceland that has resulted in many return trips for more adventures and fun. Diane is an animal lover and spends a lot of time in Greece. As previously mentioned years ago Diane often let out a room in our home to students. We had a lot of fun meeting people from many different cultures, it is a huge privilege for us both to be able to continue welcoming visitors to Oxford.

Why Marc chose Oxford

This location is an ideal base to discover Oxford City Centre and the surrounding area. The house is conveniently situated for attractions and scenery, such as the Thames, Folly Bridge, Hinksey Park, lake and an open air swimming pool. We have plenty of local amenities nearby including Grocery Stores, a Chemist, Post Office, Pubs & Restaurants. The character of the House regardless of the new and contemporary furnishings speaks for itself, the clean decor and generous space mentioned above just has a lovely and special feel about it, We ourselves lived there for many years and have many fond memories.

What makes this house unique

Perhaps the biggest benefit for a guest who chooses one of our places for their trip is the professional service that we are able to provide. Having had many years experience in hospitality and property management we have gained the skills necessary to help meet the needs a visitor has when they are travelling. For example this includes remembering to provide small but essential items such as power adaptors and the ongoing maintenance of the fire prevention systems (alarms, doors, extinguishers, etc) by a professional company. We prefer to greet our guests at check-in, this allows us to explain all the information a guest will need about the property and Oxford, this also gives a visitor the chance to ask questions and allows for the best possible start to a trip. All of our linens are sourced out to a company and professionally laundered to a hotel standard.

Centrally situated. You can experience all that you would expect from a typical British neighbourhood such as corner shops, pubs, a chemist, chip shop and a post office.
