About Susan Stalick
My husband John and I are retired. We both owned our own businesses and now love to travel and meet new people. We are scuba divers and motorcyclists. In the last couple of years have ridden in Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, and Morocco and dove in Grand Cayman. I am an avid photographer and you will find a few of my pictures hanging in the apartment. We have four dogs, all adopted from local area shelters and foster homes. I love to cook and John loves to eat so we are a perfect match. We moved to Boulder in 2007 after living most of our adult lives in the Washington DC area. John is an original from Wyoming so moving to Colorado was a homecoming for him. As new hosts we want as much feedback as we can get to make sure that our guests feel at home. I love John's life motto--Life is not a dress rehearsal. John is fairly fluent in Spanish and I'm working on it. He also speaks a little Russian and is learning Slovene.

Why Susan Stalick chose Boulder
After spending over 35 years in the Washington, DC area, John and I retired to Boulder to be near our daughter's family. We saw this house and it was love at first sight. It is conveniently located with easy access to Boulder and the surrounding area. The house was built in the 80's but has been renovated from top to bottom. We can't imagine ever moving again.

Great weekend location
The place was amazing, accurate to the pictures. If we come back to boulder, me and my friends will be staying here again
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Susan is so detail-oriented. She has everything that you could possibly need. The property is beautiful, inside and out. We felt very welcome with all the special touches. We’d definitely stay there again.
The house was absolutely perfect. It was clean, well stocked with everything you would possibly need and in a great location. The outdoor patio area was the perfect hangout for our family with a beautiful view of the mountains. As an extra touch, the owners also provided wine, beer, snacks and the best homemade chocolate pumpkin bread I've ever had. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks so much to the owners for their wonderful hospitality,
A piece of Heaven
Beautiful house and accommodations. Susan is superb as a hostess. Greeted by a delicious chocolate chip pumpkin cake which was an immediate hit. the kids loved the squirt guns and crocket set. Birds were amazing and Susan provided a book and binoculars. Only problem was the lack of floor space for the air mattresses. The additional availability of the 2 bedroom "apartment" upstairs off of the owners living space was a life-saver and my family loved them (available at additional cost)
Beautiful Boulder Retreat
We just returned home from a long Memorial Day weekend in Boulder, Colorado celebrating a family wedding. It is difficult for me to find all the right words to describe how wonderful our accommodations were at this home. Beautifully appointed, clean, roomy with 3 large bedrooms, two family rooms, two full baths and modern eat in kitchen it fit our family of six adults and two children under the age of two perfectly with room to spare! This is an awesome apartment within a larger home but doesn’t feel like it. The home is well maintained. Large entry doors open onto a large stone patio with an expansive lawn and views of the foothills. Fire pit, patio furniture and grill are are all for use. Susan, the owner has really paid attention to details providing all the amenities you can think of plus even has board games, a high chair, portable crib, hair dyers etc which really was appreciated. She welcomed us with homemade, delicious pumpkin bread, and had waiting for us several different snacks for our arrival. That was a really nice and thoughtful gesture! We felt the home was centrally located to all our weekend festivities and since it is a short distance outside of Boulder proper it is away from the bustle of the town but still accessible using paved roads and not up in the top of a mountain. We loved that! Lots of birds including hummingbirds to listen to and watch! Also, the owners four dogs are onsite and we enjoyed them also, whether they were on their upstairs deck or fenced in yard running around they really made us feel like we were in a “home away from home “ which is exactly what we like to feel when renting a property! All in all, I would totally recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Boulder and we thank Susan and her husband for sharing their home with us and our family! Hopefully one day we will be able to visit again!
Laura and Eric, Thank you so much for your review. I'm feeding the dogs your treats as I write this and they want me to let you know that they LOVE them! Please come back anytime when you can spend more time relaxing (that's for Eric).
We could not have had a more delightful visit. Susan and John were wonderful hosts.
