I'm working and living in Dublin, Ireland, I work as a marketer and photographer - I love both and have studied for a masters in the two.
We fell in love with Croatia from the first moment we got there. I manage a number of blocks on the island and I really enjoy helping guests make plans. I'm always available for a call or you'll get me on email.
Alison McDonnell purchased this apartment in 2004
These properties are ideal for exploring the Split area of Croatia, minutes to a beautiful bay and all amenities are within a short walking distance. We've had almost 100 reviews written over the years with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5.
The views from the apartments are spectacular, waking up each morning to them is a delight. The 2400 year old medieval town of Trogir is on your doorstep and must be seen and explored.
A little tip.. You can find some secluded beaches to the back of the apartment block - they are breathtaking and quiet and picturesque.
Also you must check out Duga bay, just up the road.
Leonardos and Srdela are excellent restaurants - tell Luka in Leos and Roberto in Srdela that I sent you.
Better later than never! I didn't have the time to write to you, we were very busy after coming home from Croatia.
Thank you very much for the wonderful apartment in Trogir. Our holiday there was very beautiful; everybody enjoyed our stay there very much.
Most probably we will come again next year, there are so many places to visit and so many things to do. The sea was very good and the nature wonderful.
We wish you all the best and hope to talk to you soon.

Our holiday was amazing! The penthouse apartment is exactly as described and was, in fact, even better than we dared hope for. The layout is relaxing and spacious but also very practical for a holidaying group or family. All mod cons are provided, you really need for nothing here. The apartment is cleaned and maintained to the highest standard and feels comfortable and luxurious - the finish is superb. Our beds were very comfortable and there is extra linen available.
Both bedrooms are nicely furnished with plenty of hanging and drawer space. There is a small safe in the double bedroom wardrobe which gave me peace of mind for passports etc.
The bathrooms are lovely, sparkling clean and the overall feeling is of high quality with marble tiling throughout.
We found the kitchen to be well equipped - there was everything I needed to cook family meals most nights.
The view from the balcony is breathtaking! I spent happy mornings watching the sun rise over the sea. The balcony is spacious and well furnished. The area in which the apartment block is situated is quiet and peaceful and it really is a very pleasant (short) walk down to the beach. The beach is a gem - quiet, clean and unspoilt, the water is crystal clear and calm. There is a beach bar offering friendly service and cheap drinks and snacks - but nothing else - what a joy to be free from beach vendors and tacky gift shops.
There is a supermarket, bakery (fantastic bread and cakes), fruit and veg stall and a choice of restaurants in the village so you needn't travel far unless you want to. Everythig seemed very reasonably priced to us.
The boat trip from main beach to the medieval town of Trogir was a highlight. Trogir is so beautiful, and again feels unspoilt and magical - the whole family enjoyed exploring there.
I could go on and on... there were no negatives to this trip and I feel like I need to return to this beautiful country and discover more. We felt very safe and welcome in Croatia.
Alison has been friendly and helpful throughout the whole planning and booking process, patient and understaning when my bank transferred too little money for the deposit(!) even organising extra accomodation for us when we needed to fly out a day earlier than planned. Thank you so much!
This is a very belated review for our weeks holiday last July. We hadn't visited Croatia before but had heard lots of positive recommendations. Alison's apartment was just as described and was a great base for a weeks holiday to explore Ciovo island. The view from the balcony was stunning and it was a pleasant stroll down to the harbour for a quick dip. The walk to the main beach a little longer but quite manageable. We did find the car handy for shopping as in the heat carrying bottles and fruit etc was hard going. During the week we only left the island once to go to the waterfalls (bit of a tourist trap - would recommend arriving there later in the day rather than at 12 noon when we did with the rest of the world.) Its also tricky getting on and off the island due to the bottle neck at Trojir - to visit Trojir its better to take the ferry.
On other days we hired a boat, went snorkling and discovered lovely beaches and restaurants. A great relaxing holiday - thanks Alison.
Would highly recommend staying at penthouse Christina, with its great location, stunning views and the lovely people we met here. We arrived earlier than planned and the agents quickly prepared the apartment so we didn't have to wait. The apartment was a great size, and just like home with everything you would need there. The beach was a wee gem, really suited us with a small child as it wasn't overcrowded. And swimming in the sea is a beautiful experience, especially with crystal clear water! We ate at Leonardo's almost every night, the food was fab and the staff were superb. It's very reasonable for the quality of food they offer. We slso took a trip from here to the Krka waterfalls again a little gem and one not to be missed. Finally I'd like to thank Alison for arranging, with great communication and organisation. Also the agents again for letting us stay in the apartment later than planned as we had a late flight and to the staff of Luigi's (another lovely little place on the ground floor of the apartments) for arranging taxi transfer to airport and for the lovely pizzas we had the pleasure of eating a few times. I know it's a long review but found it hard to cut short!
We stayed in Apartment one, a spacious apartment offering two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge area. The kitchen is kitted out with everything you may possibly need. The apartments are clean and on arrival you are given contact numbers of the local team who look after the apartment, if you have any problems whilst you are there.
There is a small pool which is shared by everyone in the apartment block, which was great for having a quick dip, or we were just too lazy to walk to the beach.
There is a small beach about a 5 minute walk away ( a bit longer on the way back up the hill) with the larger main beach being a 15 minute walk.
The apartment is above Restaurant Luigi which is worth a visit, with other restaurants close by you will never be stuck for somewhere to eat.
There is a small supermarket, bakers and a stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables nearby.
The apartments are situated at the top of the hill and offer fantastic views across the bay and beyond.
The apartment was perfect for our family (2adults and 3 children). Everything was clean and there was plenty of storage space. The views were fantastic and we never got tired of looking out onto the sea! The pool was small but big enough for a couple of families. We went everyday as the children loved it!
The air conditioning was brilliant and the apartment stayed cool throughout the day.
The airport was really close and the journey to the apartment will be really quick once the new bridge opens in the autumn!
We went to a different beach nearly everyday as there are so many, mostly within walking distance! It was easy to get to resturants and shops, especially once we'd discovered shortcuts off the main roads.
There was loads to do nearby, island hopping, pedaloes and inflatables on the sea. The water taxi (there are a few to choose from) goes frequently from the main beach to Trogir which is a 15 minute walk away.
Everybody was really friendly and we would definitely recommend the island and accomodation!
The apartment is so light and airy with everything you could possibly need. A very cosy place at the same time with a home away from home feel so we felt very comfortable from the start. When you walk out onto the balcony to reveal that stunning view over the sea it really does catch your breath. Alison was extremely friendly and helpful to deal with and answered all our queries and beyond.
Ciovo is a hidden little gem and we're delighted we stumbled upon it in our search for a relaxing but interesting holiday. What was great about the place is that it feels secluded enough that if you want to just chill out we child do that, but it's close enough to everything that if we wanted a bit of adventure we could grab the water taxi to trogir and even split was only 30-40 mins down the road in a taxi (traffic depending) for a bit more cosmopolitan nightlife and shopping.
We really had a wonderful time.
