What a find!!!!
Lovely family holiday in the lakes over May half term.
The property is nestled away in the country side - very quiet. Safe garden. Lovely bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed. Good BBQ too. Highly recommend for a family plus we could take the dog - who loved the garden. Excellent property.
Thanks so much for the lovely review Emma – hope we can welcome you back soon!
Just this side of heaven...
Extremely well stocked. Comfy beds. Great showers. Country living at its finest. WiFi and all the modern conveniences are top notch. You won’t go wrong here.
Thanks for the lovely review. Hope to welcome you back!
Staying at badger sett
Perfect getaway. We were a party of four adults, a toddler and two dogs. The house is perfectly laid out with all the things you need for a relaxing getaway. We throughly enjoyed our stay!
Lovely location. Well laid out. Well equipped.
We had a family Easter and very much enjoyed staying in this nice cottage. The garden was very suitable for our one year old and three year old and also my mother in law’s ageing Labrador. The cottage has been thoughtfully prepared for guests like us.
We throughly enjoyed our week in The Badger Sett. So much we are in the process of booking again next year. Thanks Dom for your help. So much information available in the cottage. Looking forward to next year.
Lovely place in lovely location
If you want quiet, relaxation and amazing views this is the place. Cottage isn’t bad either!
Situated in a secluded valley, The Badger Sett is one of just a handful of houses that make up the hamlet of Newlands. The lovely Lakeland village of Hesket Newmarket, with its famous co-operatively owned pub and micro brewery, The Old Crown, is just a one mile stroll down a peaceful country lane. The remote Caldbeck Fells are on the doorstep and provide fantastic opportunities for walking and mountain biking and The Caldew and Caldbeck Rivers which run through our valley are excellent for kayaking. The classic peaks of Blencathra and Helvellyn are both close by and provide some of the best walking and scrambling routes in the UK. If you prefer more hustle and bustle the popular town of Keswick is a 25 minute drive away whilst historic Hutton-in-the-Forest with its famous horse trials is just around the corner. For long distance walkers The Cumbria Way passes through our valley and for road cyclists The Reivers Route (known as the Return CTC) goes right past the bottom of our drive!
