A warm, welcoming holiday home: sleeps 3
I relocated from Hertfordshire in 2017. I fell in love with the cottage first and have since grown to love the village of Halse. People are so friendly here and there's always something going on the local pub the New Inn. Annie's is a magical cottage which has a warm, relaxed feel to it.. the perfect place to unwind.
Bella purchased this Cottage in 2017
Why Bella chose Taunton
Annie's is great for walkers and dog lovers as there are bridalways and footpaths in every direction once you step out of the door. You have the north Somerset coast a short drive away and can explore Glastonbury, Wells, Bath, Bristol and Exeter, if you'd like to go a little further. A great place to relax, unwind and visit the local pub. In the next village of Bishops Lydeard you have a supermarket, post office, 2 pubs, a petrol garage and lovely tea shop called Daisy's. The small towns of Wivilescombe and Wellington are a few minutes drive away and lovely for shopping and tea shops too.
What makes this Cottage unique
Annie's has parking out front, two lounges (one is a small conservatory) and a lovely little walled garden, which was landscaped last year and is newly replanted. Although it's small there are 3 seating/eating areas, so that you can catch the sun as it travels across the garden. We have high speed wifi and Amazon and Netflix on the TV.
Please use log burner with care and if left lit when going to bed please close doors. If you use house logs please replace them
Please leave dogs downstairs while staying. They can be comfortable in the kitchen/utility/conservatory area if you are leaving them.
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date. 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
Short break to visit family and friends.
Beautiful cottage with all the mod cons especially the Dishwasher. Absolutely loved the fast fibre broadband, private garden, conservatory and of course the off street parking. Only negative is the shower head keeps dropping out of the holder.
Family Break 7 nights.
Annie's cottage is a lovely little place and situated in a beautiful village hidden behind those country lanes!
Beautifully set out, Double Bed very comfy, the single room had a single bed and a blow up mattress which is nt stated in the description. With two children trying to decide who was sleeping where. Bathroom small but adequate, Kitchen lovely but a Freezer would of been useful. Recycling instructions need to be listed in Welcome pack to. Lastly a beautiful garden to sit in. Excellent communication to with property manager. Thanks Again for a lovely stay!
Typical English country village
This dear little cottage has been tastefully modernized throughout. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well supplied. There is good wifi in the cottage but phone service only available weakly at certain places in the village. The garden is newly landscaped and has picnic table and chairs set out to take advantage of the sun. The nearby pub is a great place to meet people and the food is EXCELLENT ! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A lovely place to stay
Annie’s Cottage is a really lovely place to stay. It is cosy and beautifully decorated throughout. The kitchen is really well equipped which includes tea/coffee and other store cupboard essentials which we were invited to use. The bedroom we used was good with plenty of storage and the bed was super comfy. The bathroom was small but had a good shower and we had no problems with either the wash basin or saniflo toilet as other reviews had commented on! The cottage has a lovely conservatory and garden which we used regularly to sit in. The village is very pretty with interesting walks on the doorstep, it also has a great pub just a few minutes from the cottage! All in all we had a great time so much so we extended our stay here. Would definitely recommend this cottage and will come back again!
A Beautiful Property
It was a privilege to stay in this beautiful home which is much more than just a rental property. For what appeared to be a small cottage the rooms were surprisingly spacious and comfortable. The bright conservatory opened onto a wonderful recently landscaped garden with plenty of room to sit and enjoy the long summer evenings. The kitchen and utility room were more spacious than expected and well equipped although a small freezer could have been useful.
The provision of tea, coffee and sugar, plus the availability of a multitude of sauces, condiments and pasta was very much appreciated. The village is pretty and very quiet, although the off road parking was an essential. The New Inn and its local clientele were all very welcoming and the food there was excellent. Overall an excellent location for a quiet getaway but still with good access to Taunton, Minehead, Exmoor and The Quantocks.
