Larachan House above was the old village school, and attached Schoolhouse Cottage was originally the Schoolmaster’s house. This Victorian cottage has been modernised to provide first class accommodation and homely comfort. A fully equipped self-catering cottage set in lovely gardens and situated overlooking the sparkling waters of the Dornoch Firth. It is an ideal way to explore the county of Sutherland and experience the magnificent scenery of The Scottish Highlands.
The nearby towns of Dornoch, Tain, and Bonar Bridge offer independent shops, supermarkets, cafés, antique shops, pubs and restaurants. Miles of golden sand beaches can be found at Dornoch, Embo, Golspie and Brora. The Highland capital of Inverness with all its attractions is 40 minutes by car and convenient for the airport. Many Whisky distilleries in the area offer tours.

Bedrooms are equipped with flat screen TV, clock radio and hair-dryer. Both bedrooms have new beds. We use crisp, white, Cotton linen on our beds together with light fibre-fill duvets and pillows to allay any allergies. Extra pillows and blankets are also available.

The cottage is supplied with the usual items one would hope to find in a kitchen, such as dish-clothes, tea towels and washing-up liquid, bin liners, kitchen paper roll, cling-film, cooking foil, and some cupboard condiments such as vinegar, salt & pepper. A small Welcome basket of tea, coffee, sugar and milk is provided.
