Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday barn in Honiton - Buckhouse Farm Barn

Located at the end of a country lane our unique barn is an ideal holiday escape

Not your usual holiday cottage but a contemporary conversion of a farm building. First floor open-plan living area, brightly decorated with oak-flooring. Contemporary furniture creates a seating area around the wood-burner and TV. The dining area (seating 6) has full-height windows with views over the fields. There is a modern kitchen with a larder-fridge, electric hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher. The property has three bedrooms, all with views onto fields - two double bedrooms, one with doors to the terrace, the other with en-suite bathroom. Both bathrooms tiled as ‘wet-rooms’ with showers, handbasin, and WC . All linen is provided, table linen and tea towels. The bedlinen is 100% cotton,‘Devon wool’ duvets and pillows. Ecological dishwasher tablets and washing liquid is provided. There is a utility/boot room with washing machine and drying facilities. Logs and barbecue provided; electricity and heating is included in the rental. Generous use of16m outdoor heated swimming pool in idyllic position.

Footpaths surround our working mixed farm, where we keep Black Welsh Mountain Sheep, Red Devon Cattle and traditional breeds of pigs and chickens. We manage the land under a Higher Level Stewardship scheme, which ensures that the orchids and other wild flowers are preserved and the birds and wildlife flourish. We have our own meat available in season and eggs most days. We can recommend award-winning restaurants and pubs that are worth a journey, great farm shops and markets for superb local produce, and the usual supermarkets. We can arrange quality catering and box delivery on request. Bike hire can be arranged from Colyton and horse riding in the village. Tennis courts are located in Seaton & Sidmouth and there are excellent golf facilities at Honiton, Woodbury, Budleigh Salterton and Exeter.

Rural retreat near the coast: We are located at the end of a small country lane in gently undulating countryside. This part of rural East Devon is surprisingly near the coast; the fishing village of Beer and the unspoilt Branscombe beach, but also not far from the Cathedral City of Exeter and Dartmoor. Great for day-trips to all the beaches of Devon including surfing to Saunton & Croyde. Ideally located for exploring Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Cornwall and many historic National Trust houses and gardens are within easy reach.

We had the most wonderful time at Buckhouse Farm. Deborah and Anthony are the perfect hosts and made us feel really welcome.

The barn has been beautifully converted with everything we needed and the views from the house were gorgeous. Our children were in heaven with loads of space to play including a fabulous swing, swimming pool and not forgetting Bella and Jess the farm dogs who they played with every day.

The barn is down some very narrow and basic roads and as a result we ended up with a flat tyre. But Anthony came to our rescue to change the spare and then recommended a great place to get it fixed.

If you want a place to get away from it all - you can't beat this.

Brilliant stay at Buckhouse Farm

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week at Buckhouse Farm. The barn is gorgeous, it has everything you could possibly need and eating breakfast to those views every morning was just lovely. The 2 farm dogs Bella and Jess are gorgeous, friendly doggies and both my sons (6 and 2) looked forward to playing football with them every day, my 6 year old even spent some of his pocket money on a new ball for them, he was very sad to leave them. The boys also loved seeing the animals on the farm, chickens, cows and lambs, all on the doorstep to see. We went to Beer, Branscombe, Seaton, Exmouth during our stay, all lovely places. Coming home to the barn every day though really made our holiday. We were also able to use the owners swimming pool which made it even nicer. It took a few days to get used to the one track country lanes, and some are really, really, narrow! If you're after peace, quiet, open space and gorgeous views on a working farm then this is the place to go. The owners, Deborah and Anthony, were so welcoming and helpful, suggesting places to visit etc., thank you. All in all we had a lovely week at Buckhouse Farm and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Gorgeous barn!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this barn, everything including the pool and views were perfect! Our kids fell in love with the dogs, particularly Bella who they wanted to take home with them!

Deborah was great with our children and let them collect the chicken eggs a few times, the eggs were delicious!

Lyme Regis is close by and has a lovely beach with plenty of things to do for kids.

Highly recommended, we hope to return soon!

Lovely House, and Farm - Great for Children!

  • 5 of 5

We are picky, and Buckhouse Farm was perfect. The house was spacious and lovely (and clutter free!). Our children loved the farm, the big yard to run around, the tree swing and the incredibly sweet dogs! Deborah and Anthony were very kind, and they even asked our children to help name the newest calf! The house is a perfect base for exploring the area; Seaton, Beer and the Jurassic Coast!

Had a lovely week at buckhouse farm. The barn was great the pool great and the views were amazing . Anthony and Deborah were very helpful and friendly hosts and they made our stay even better we didn't have the greatest week weather wise but the location made up for the odd rainy day. Would highly recommend the property and area for a lovely holiday and last but not least the dogs Bella and Jess who my grandchildren loved.

Can't wait to return!

We had a fantastic stay at Buckhouse Barn. Our friends from India wanted to explore the English countryside - surrounded by nature and animals. Buckhouse was the perfect place. We were woken every morning by the chirping of birds and baaaa-ing of the sheeps! Some great walking trails and running paths are around the Barn.

The Barn is modern, immaculately clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Maintaining its rustic charm.

Anthony & Deborah are perfect hosts. Welcoming, warm and always available with suggestions and things to do. We bought their award-winning sausages - which were fanatic and got some eggs from their hens.

Would love to come back and meet their gorgeous dogs Jess & Bella again.

Thanks for a fantastic stay.
