Chalet La Vache is a modern Swiss chalet designed between the owners and a local architect, and built with only the very best materials and local craftsmanship. Situated on an elevated, sunny plot, the chalet has incredible panoramic views along the Rhone valley to Sion surrounded by beautiful snowy peaks.
The chalet has been furnished and decorated in a beautiful luxury contemporary style, with every modern convenience available to make your holiday relaxing and fun. The open plan living/dining area comfortably seats 10 people around the log burning stove.
The full length balcony, large tiled sun terrace, deck for outdoor dining/BBQ and an idyllic garden patio with spa and sauna capture the all day sun.
Part Brit, part Australian I love the mountains and can be found skiing and snowboarding in the winter and cycling up hills in the summer.
Clare Molloy purchased this chalet in 2012
There is no better place to relax we have the best views in the Alps.
The views are incredible and I like to think we have thought of everything. There is nothing better than a glass of champagne in the hot tub after a day in the mountains.
Our stay over Christmas was a much anticipated time away from the normal which this chalet allowed us to achieve. Clare is an attentive and gracious owner who looked after each question and even made sure there was a store run complete by her manager so we would have food for Christmas day in case stores were closed. The chalet was enjoyed by my family and we were able to use the grill, ping pong table, hot tub and fireplace. Snow was in short supply but I can imagine this to be a beautiful snow escape as well. Not far above the chalet is a charming ski village with plenty of fun activities for the family. Sion is a quick drive down the mountain to access train and shopping. Matilda the cow provided a few moments of humor as she gazes in a window with spotlight. The only point I would make prior to settling in is to make sure the spa is in working order. The sauna takes much time to warm up and is not quickly usable. The hot tub does not stay at a consistent warm temperature when uncovered and used for longer than 30 minutes. Our stay was enjoyable and we certainly would stay again if we could get away to beautiful Switzerland. Thank you, Clare!
Chalet La Vache is a very comfortable and clean chalet located high up and overlooking spectacular views from all the windows. it has a very large lounge with good seating and a well equipped kitchen to suit all level of catering and both inside and outside dining areas to suit all seasons. Enjoy a glass of champagne in the hot tub or a relaxing sauna while watching the sun go down. This is our second visit, both during September, and although not the ski season there is still so much to do and see in the area. We would recommend the Friday morning market in Sion, very interesting, and a cable car trip to the peak which has stunning views. Also a visit to Montreaux situated on Lake Geneva, just like being in the South of France! This chalet has everything that you would require for a fabulous holiday.
Hard to believe, but the views are even more spectacular in the flesh than in the pictures. The chalet has everything needed, including a well equipped kitchen, plus indoor and outdoor dining tables and chairs. The fixtures and fittings are all of a high standard, and the decor tasteful, with some nice cow themed twists. Huge windows in the living area, plus french windows in the downstairs bedrooms make the most of the stunning views. The Chalet was very clean and well maintained.
Outside the chalet, there are plenty of activities on offer year round. We did some lovely walks, took the chair lifts and cable cars up on to the tops, and did some cycling. The town is within walking distance, as are a number of lovely bisse walks. We also loved kicking back at the end of the day and relaxing in the hot tub, which is positioned to make the most of the views, and has outdoor speakers, so you can listen to a bit of music too - heaven.
We would love to come back again, either in the summer again, or perhaps in the winter, which I'm sure would be equally fantastic.
We had a wonderful summer holiday at beautiful Chalet La Vache. The location of the property is ideal. Just 90 minutes drive from Geneva airport and a few minutes from the village of Nendaz, which has plenty of shops and restaurants. The Chalet is stylishly furnished and well equipped with everything you could want. But what really makes it special are the fabulous views! During our stay we enjoyed some wonderful walks in the local area, taking ski lifts up and enjoying incredible scenery on the way back down. It was different from our usual beach holidays but our children absolutely loved it! And what could be better after a long days' exploring than to come back to the lovely Chalet and relax in the hot tub.
The week flew by and there is so much more to see in the area that we would love to come back again. All in all a great holiday in a beautiful part of the world and I would highly recommend Chalet la Vache!
The chalet is beautifully situated with views that are absolutely breathtaking. It was really well equipped with everything to make the stay really comfortable. We particularly liked lounging in the hot tub in the evening and looking out at the fabulous mountains.
The resort of Haute Nendaz is a very pretty swiss village. It didn't feel overly built up, but had plenty of bars and restaurants. We spent most of the week walking in the mountains, either by taking the lifts up to the top and walking down, or choosing one of the 'bisse' walks out of Nendaz. A highlight for us was going to the top of Mont Fort where the views were stunning.
We sadly didn't get to any of the other activities on offer, but we would have loved to have had a go at the mountain biking. We saw plenty of people taking their bikes up in the lifts then cycling down the mountain which looked like a lot of fun. There was so much to do that it deserves another holiday!
I would highly recommend this chalet and the surrounding area in the summer. We were two families, consisting of four children (12,12, 10 and 9). The children loved walking in the mountains and using the cable cars and lifts (apparently it's better than Chessington!!). In fact my son said it was the best holiday ever and cried when we left!
We would definitely love to come back.
Chalet la Vache is a lovely, well-appointed property. We found it to be as represented, well-maintained, comfortable and clean. The owner was attentive and easy to work with. Access is convenient -- we arrived by train in Sion, and picked up a rental car next door to the train station for the 20-minute drive up the mountain to Nendaz. Haute Nendaz is a busy resort village with plenty of shops and food markets. Ski access is very convenient. Our family enjoyed our visit and would gladly return.
