The House and surroundings:
On the west coast, wild and authentic Sardinia, the house is located in the historic district of Cuglieri, a village between sea and mountains, perfectly quiet, minutes from shops. The house, a very old sheepfold, has been fully restored in a spirit "contemporary charm", a small secret garden, terraces to live outside, with views of the village and the sea complete this magical place! For decoration and garden, bias of white and gray and local materials, basalt, stone etc .... On the ground floor a large living room, cool summer, living room, dining room, open kitchen and a bathroom with walk-in shower. A few steps up basalt, a living room with fireplace and a door window that opens onto the terraces and the white garden, always very flowery; olive tree, lemon tree, lavender, rosemary? In the summer season, small vegetable garden with tomatoes, aubergines, arugula, zucchini, basil and all herbs ... From the second terrace a summer living room, with sofa and armchairs, wonderful sunsets over the sea, the mountain and the village. The 3 bedrooms open onto the garden through French windows. one is independent, under the terrace, king size bed, with toilet, sink and shower. In the main house a "master bedroom" with its ensuite bathroom with 2 sinks and a smaller room for 2 people (separate beds or not), his bathroom is on the ground floor. The house is fully equipped (washing machine, dishwasher, coffee, barbecue in summer). Maid on request. The house is very comfortable at all seasons, thanks to its electric heating and its beautiful fireplace. I discovered this place thanks to friends 7 years ago, I quickly bought this house, all the friends who come to see me find that "it is a small corner of paradise", never of people, of Beaches without people, incredible nature and preserved, we are quite a few friends and friends of French friends to have succumbed to the charms of this place still privileged and accessible.
Presentation of the neighborhood
About the village and the surrounding area The village of Cuglieri is located on the west coast of Sardinia, the wildest and most authentic, an hour south of Alghero, half an hour from Bosa that is joined by a fantastic corniche road and 1h30 from Cagliari by highway 131 2 hours from Olbia, very well connected. Dominated by its basilica, visible for kilometers, at 500 meters of altitude (no mosquitoes and the air at the height of the summer) the village lives between sea and mountain. It is an ideal starting point to discover and enjoy this beautiful region with its beaches, all different, mountain walks, visits to typical villages and historical sites such as the ruins of the Phoenician city of Tharros, Nuraghe, the Giganti museum in Cabras or the Giara with the last wild horses of Europe. Gastronomy is the richest region of Sardinia in quality products. Delicious wines, olive oils, fish, salciccia, ricotta, pecorino, biscuits, Sardinian bread, fruits, vegetables and the famous Bottarga are waiting for you at reasonable prices .... Restaurants, feet in the water or balcony on the sea at the top of the cliffs, serve traditional cuisine but sometimes very creative. A new generation of young chefs have returned home and bring a very interesting renewal from the great products of the island, all at a low price. Many small shops in the village, including a wonderful little caterer. This region of Sardinia has kept all its charm and has not yet been touched by mass tourism. On the sport side, of course all water sports are practiced, including surfing when the wind comes up. You can rent zodiac with or without license to discover the wild coast or the island of Mal di Ventre. True sportsmen can practice cycling in the mountains. Finally, at half an hour, splendid golf on the sea in one of the biggest pine forests of Europe.
It is now very easy to reach this region, served by 3 airports: Alghero in the North, Cagliari in the South and Olbia at 2 hours by highway. The easiest way is to rent a car at the airport (then an hour and a half or 2 hours drive depending on the airport). You can also reach the village by bus Pullman from Alghero and by train or bus from Cagliari and Olbia. You can also come by boat with your own car, from France, Spain or Italy.
This house is very welcoming all year round, as it is heated (electric radiators in all rooms) and fireplace.
