Comfortable and stylish with lovely calm ambience.
I am a retired social worker supplementing my pension by offering accommodation. I have a published novel: The True Adventures of a Cabin Boy ( ISBN 978-1908105-61-5) Also a collection of Short stories and poetry ( unpublished ) I keep a cat Buchi who spends a lot of her time in the garden watching the birds at the bird table. The birds mainly sparrows and blackbirds but also tits and wood pigeons and collared doves who coo melodiously in the evenings provide much interest to humans too with their constant comings and goings. At the moment swifts are making themselves noticed screaming as they whizz about the sky.. a little while ago it was seagulls with chicks in the nest on the adjacent buildings screeching and cawing aggressively .. There is also sparrow hawk to be glimpsed her presence more obvious in the spoils of her kills. .

Why Owner chose Inverness City Centre
With the help of a local joiner I designed and built the accommodation in the style of a Japanese Tea House, It was partly to be used for the Japanese tea ceremony the requisite equipment being on display but also for family and friends to stay.. The garden was also designed in the Japanese style with a stone lantern and shisi odoshi and small clipped shrubs .
What makes this Chalet unique
The interior of pale walls and wooden roof and minimal furniture overlooking the small garden is generally agreed to have a very peaceful ambience. The private entrance and shady lane leading to town centre makes it a very economical choice for visiting Inverness and environs.

Japanese Get Away!
Very central with off road parking which was very convenient. The accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable just perfect for our needs. Michael was a great host and made us feel welcome. Would recommend to others and would happily stay again.
Nice welcome by our host who showed us to our tea house.
Beautiful and convenient treasure
Michael was very accommodating. Staying in the Japanese style rooms was quite a unique experience and waking up to the garden was beautiful. Warm and comfortable, great location.

Peace, Tranquility and a Welcoming Host
I don't think we've ever stayed in such unique accommodation! Despite our very late arrival, Michael warmly welcomed us and showed us to the Tea House. The late hour added to the magic of arriving through the beautifully lit garden to our home for the next three nights. And what a home it was! The attention to detail was second to none, from the tatami on the floor to the selection of Japanese tea available in the little kitchen area. The futons may take a little getting used to if you aren't fond of a 'firmer' bed but it eased my aching back no end! Words do not really do this place justice. The location is perfectly perched above the city centre, all the main shopping/eating/ transport links and attractions are within an easy 10 minute walk, close enough for convenience but far enough to sleep in almost utter silence. Keep an eye out for Buchi, the owner's lovely cat and take some time out to speak with Michael (the owner), you won't find a warmer, more welcoming property owner this side of the Great Glen! The Tea House really is a gem! Thank you Michael.

Well situated, private and comfortable. Loved the Japanese styling.
My wife and I stayed here and we had a great time. Our host was thoroughly charming and respectful of our privacy. We really enjoyed the accomodation - the Japanese styling was really quite relaxing and simple without being too austere. The only thing to take note of is the sleeping arrangement. There are two futons which fold out into beds and, while I found the harder bed really good for my back, my wife struggled a little so I'd recommend a mattress topper for those of you who like something softer to sleep on. Apart from that I'd happily recommend staying here - the wet-room is a great idea and you couldn't be better situated as it's a short walk to pretty much every restaurant, bar, place of interest, transport link and the main shopping centre. A real jem of a place.
A very pleasant couple only hope they come again some time.
