Beautiful 5-bedroom converted countryside chapel sleeping up to 10

The beautiful five-bedroom Old Chapel comfortably accommodates up to 10 and is located in the pretty rural village of Goodleigh, just a few miles from Barnstaple, and within easy reach of the gorgeous North Devon beaches and Exmoor National Park.

The Old Chapel has only recently been renovated throughout and has been finished to a very high standard, wonderfully combining period charm and character with modern day elegance and style. On arrival guests enter the large, open plan living area, which has a beautiful high-vaulted ceiling, arch windows, original beams and a glass balustrade. The bright and spacious living area has plenty to offer its guests, including comfy sofas, a flat-screen TV complete with Sky TV, an X-box, a DVD player and a sound system. There is even underfloor heating and a handy wood-burner.

A large kitchen/diner has everything guests will need for catering when enjoying their holiday in North Devon. At the heart of the room is a large dining table, which can seat up to 10, a high chair is also available if needed. Beside the table is a full-size piano, perfect for those looking to hone their skills. The kitchen is very well-equipped with various different appliances, including a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher, a double oven, an induction hob, a microwave and a coffee machine. In a separate utility area found on the ground floor there is a second fridge, two washing machines and a tumble dryer. A cupboard beside the front door is the ideal place for hanging coats or storing wet, muddy boots.

As The Old Chapel is designed with the living area on the first floor, all five bedroom are located downstairs. The bedrooms include the Master with a king-size double bed and an en-suite shower room, a double/twin, which has zip and link beds, a twin bedroom with two single beds, a nice sized double and the children's favourite bunk room with full size bunk beds. There is also a good sized family bathroom fitted with a large bath and a separate shower.

To the front of the house is the garden, which has something for everyone, including a children's swing set, a charcoal BBQ, outside seating and a chimenea.

The Old Chapel is ideally located for those looking to explore North Devon. Just a few minutes' walk from the house is the village centre where you will find a good family-friendly pub serving lovely food, alternatively the market town of Barnstaple is only a short drive away and is home to a range of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes, as well as multi-screen cinema and a theatre. The beaches are also nearby, with Saunton and Westward Ho! approximately a 15-minute drive from the house.

The bedrooms include the following: Bedroom 1: The Master Bedroom is a lovely large size and has a king size bed, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. The Master Bedroom also benefits from its own en-suite shower room. Bedroom 2: Located in the middle of the bedroom is the large double/twin with handy zip and link beds, which on request can be combined to make a king-size double or left as two full size singles. Bedroom 3: The twin bedroom has views of the garden and features two single beds, one of which is a cabin bed, so slight elevated off the floor. Bedroom 4: The second double bedroom has a standard double bed, a wardrobe and a large bookcase style shelving unit. It also has views of the garden. Bedroom 5: The children's favourite - The Bunk Room. The final bedroom has full size bunk beds, as well as a small wardrobe. Black out blind are provided where needed and a travel cot can be made available on request at no additional cost.

The Old Chapel was renovated only a few years ago. During the renovation the owners have cleverly incorporated all the buildings period charm and character with modern day style and comfort. The main period features can be found in the open plan living area, which has arched windows, a high vaulted ceiling and original wood beams. However, the house is also packed full of modern day equipment, including some of the best home-entertainment, including a large flat-screen TV, Sky TV, an X-Box, a DVD player, a good sound system with record player and WiFi, there is even underfloor heating throughout.

Many different activities to suit all visitors can be enjoyed in the local area surrounding The Old Chapel. As well as walking and water-sports, there are routes for cyclists (the Tarka Trail is a favourite for those with children), horse riding and golf. There are also various attractions nearby such as Watermouth Castle, Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Exmoor Zoo.

The Old Chapel is located in the pretty countryside village of Goodleigh, which is just a couple of miles from North Devon's largest town, Barnstaple. The village itself is ideal for those looking to enjoy a central location, remaining within easy reach of both the beaches and Exmoor, yet staying close to local amenities.

Within the village guests can dine at the the local family friendly pub, The New Inn, which has a good menu and serves local ales, there are also numerous walks around the village many of which are accessible direct from the house.

For a wider range of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes, Barnstaple is just a short drive away. The town, which is home to several high-street chains also has many independent stores, as well as a multi-screen cinema, a leisure complex and a theatre. Alternative towns within easy reach are Braunton, Ilfracombe and Bideford.

Less than 20 minutes from the cottage, guests can be relaxing on one of North Devon's beautiful beaches, including Saunton, Woolacombe, Croyde and Westward Ho! These beaches are patrolled by lifeguards from Easter through to the end of the October half term week and are known for their gorgeous golden sands and clean blue seas. They are also ideal for water-sport enthusiasts with surfing and kayaking being some of the most popular activities on offer.

If you would prefer to spend the day exploring Exmoor, the National Park is approximately a 20 to 30 minute drive. The park is home to some of the areas native wildlife including the red deer and Exmoor Pony, it is a wonderful landscape to enjoy a walk, as well as stopping off for a cream tea.
