Dimora Mastromarco is an authentic complex of trulli dating back to the second half of the 1800s, ideal for groups of up to 8 people
All the buildings belonging to the structure have been restored by skilled craftsmen according to the canons of tradition, limiting the use of cement to the bare minimum (when the permeable Italian bureaucracy allowed it) and favoring the use of traditional materials such as stones, lime, sand and chaff (finely shredded straw) used as a binder in the mortar and currently replaced by the "noble" plastic. The old plaster, the cattle mangers, the original floor (disassembled and reassembled), the old plants of the gardens and gardens have been preserved as far as possible.
Reluctantly, something new has been built that is not relevant to tradition as a swimming pool with extensive use of stone, wrought iron gazebos, stone and vines as a cover, for the new tourist-receptive use.
The new plants have been chosen respecting the local tradition (olive, vine, strawberry tree, broom, brambles, jujube, rowan, mulberry, raspberry, rosemary, mint, oregano, wild strawberries and others that, according to the season, guests can use it. To conclude, to respect the old customs in Dimoramastromarco is always present a vegetable garden, summer or winter, with organic products, not from bureaucracy, but fertilized with only manure and without the use of chemistry.
