The location for all thing Dublin was perfect. We walked everywhere; site-seeing, restaurants and pubs.
Modern apartment in great location
Our family of four very much enjoyed our two-night stay in Orla's apartment. The apartment is beautiful - bright and airy, with two rooms opening up unto a large rooftop terrace. We were fortunate to have two lovely sunny evenings, and so we enjoyed relaxing on the terrace. Despite the very central location (in Temple Bar), noise was not an issue - and in fact we appreciated being close to so many destinations (National Museums, St. Stephens Green, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, O'Connell Street, etc.)
I had amazing communication with the homeowner leading up to and throughout our stay. The apartment was bright, clean, and a wonderful change from hotels. I would definitely stay here again if in Dublin.
Super spot in Temple Bar
This is a lovely apartment in the heart of Temple Bar -- so convenient to restaurants, sights, shopping, etc. I would give it 5 stars except for the noise issue. If you choose to sleep in the smaller room (with the en suite bathroom) be aware that the only window opens to a small courtyard where the staff at a nightclub go to smoke and chat. The noise has nowhere to go but up, and it was really as though they were in the room with me. (The smoke didn't travel, though, which was good!) No one's fault, it's just the structure of the thing. If you are in Dublin enjoying the nightlife, it won't be a problem because the noise stops about 30 minutes after closing, but as I was in town for a conference and heading to bed earlier, it was a little more problematic.
Otherwise, it was a great spot, super handy, everything we needed in walking distance. The selection of kitchen implements is a bit scattershot (no colander, only 1 sharp knife). Overall, though, a fine place.
Bright and Convenient BUT...
Nicely appointed and perfect for two couples. The patio was large but underfurnished. The location is exceptional. Right on Temple Bar. Other reviews are correct - the bar noise is significant. But it ends fairly sharply at 11pm. The BIG problem: despite numerous communications about check out being at 11am and our intent to leave then, Noel walked in around 9am, through the locked door, without knocking. We were in various states of undress. He made some excuse about Orla “yelling” at him to get over there. Frankly, this is completely unacceptable.
Thanks for leaving a review, I was under the impression you guys were leaving @ 10 am, Noel went into apartment @ 10:10, this may be my mistake and if so we apologise -
Great host, unbelievable location and convenience to the heart of everything.
