La Cote is an beautiful 18th century manor house perched on the side of a hill with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The house has been sympathetically restored with many of its original features remaining-fireplaces, exposed beams rugged stone walls. The house sits with a pretty garden of about an acre with many fruit trees and adjoins a further 3 acres of our fields which we overlook.
We are 25 minutes from Angouleme and less than 10 minutes from both Villebois-Lavalette and Montmoreau-Saint-Cybard which have good supermarkets, bakers and other shops as well as their own Chateau.
With a living area of 400m² furnished, the house can easily accommodate 12 people. Beds for more another 2 people are available on request.
: fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, 5 burner gas cooker, kettle, toaster, TV, DVD, WiFi.
The house also has complete facilities to enjoy the outside: garden furniture, tables and chairs for dining, barbecue and deck chairs.
For children and adults (!) there is a table football and a table tennis table as well as a small snooker table. There are a range of board games,a toy castle and dolls house and many other toys to play with. A football area and goal is set out in one of the fields. There is also a piano and guitar a collection of books and dvds.
We have a lovely 10m pool which is always very warm in the summer and a selection of bikes available for use. Tennis courts are readily available 6 minutes away at Ronsenac.
Whilst we are not there the house is looked after by Ian and Sarah Herring who live about 7 minutes away. They will welcome you and can arrange taxis, trips to local vineyards and days out.
