A comfortable house with a wonderful courtyard

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed here with three adults and three children. The house is renovated and comfortable with modern appliances. There is a large bedroom on the second floor, a hall toilet and a full bath with a smaller room with a twin bed through the bathroom. The third floor has another large bedroom and a kids room with another hall bath. There are a lot of stairs which can be challenging for smaller kids, but everything is comfortable and well thought out. The unit itself is modern but is in a very quiet old world feeling cobblestone courtyard with moss. Our kids played for a long time out there happily. Florence is great and very helpful. The unit comes with nearby parking. We did not spend much time in Caen itself but the house is a great place to stay while seeing the Bayeux tapestry, Mont Saint-Michel or driving around Normandy. We had a great stay!

Wonderful location, lovely host and a comfortable stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 4 nights with a 1 year old baby, and 5 adults and this place slept us very easily. Location was fantastic, right in the center of Caen very close to one of the Abbeys. Lots of nice shops and restaurants very close by. The hostess was great, greeted us outside the gate with a smile and gave us a tour and answered our questions. Had children's toys already there for us along with a crib and high chair! Made packing so much easier for us. House is very charming old style on the outside but modern on the inside. Definitely would stay again if we are ever in Caen!

Exceptionnel

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

William the Conqueror city-state inherited an exceptional heritage, which has been preserved over the centuries since the Second World War, when it was, by the way, a key point of the Normandy battle. The city kept the memory alive by constructing a Peace Memorial. Located few kilometres away from the seashore, landing beaches, the famous Deauville and Cabourg coastal resorts, Swiss Normandy and the Auge region (often considered as the archetype of Normandy), Caën offers all possible services. The Clos St Sauveur is perfectly located in the heart of the old town on the most beautiful square in Caën. Golf: Caën golf course, Le Vallon, and 14112 Beuville. In a 90000-m² estate at the gates of the city of Caën, the two golf courses, imagined by Fred Hawtree, offer a wonderful golf experience. The architect, who also designed Vaudreuil golf course, first designed an 18-hole course on the plain in 1990 before creating 9 additional holes in the woods. Now, the golf course is apt for beginners, as well as experts, fits perfectly the relief and the terraced, as well as rich and green vegetation. The championship course of Plaine-Vallon extends 6159 m, in which a good first stroke on the fairway will make all the difference. The length and the risk taking will be awarded on all the holes of Plaine, while Vallon will highlight your precision. The 9-hole Bois golf course, on 2983 metres, offers the most complete of the exercises, which require length and narrowness to efficiently progress amongst trees (different varieties). The 27 putting greens on the estate, perfectly manicured, will allow you to perfect your style before finishing your day on the panoramic restaurant terrace. Stays from Monday to Monday or from Friday to Friday in July and August.
