Meadow Cottage is a late 18th/early 19th century cottage set in a hectare of land, a part of which is left for our two sheep to graze and the rest is made up of a large pond, a spinney and a couple of small wildflower meadows. The whole of the property is surrounded by agricultural land.
The cottage consists of a recently refurbished kitchen/diner and a lounge on the ground floor with a double and a single bedroom and a bathroom with a toilet on the first floor.
Meadow Cottage is self-contained. It has it's own front garden and a secure back garden. There is parking in the front of the property for one car or you may prefer to park at the side, where there is space for two cars. There is also a cart shed with a padlock where you can leave bikes.
We do ask that our guests are aware that, like many cottages of a similar age, Meadow Cottage has a few low beams and some reduced headroom and changes in floor levels in places. We like to think of it as part of its charm!
As well as the sheep we also have bee hives in the meadow for those who are interested. Don't worry they are about 40 m away from Meadow Cottage.
The nearest village with shops is Briston, which is just over two miles away, and further afield we have the lovely Georgian town of Holt with the heritage steam railway "Poppy Line" connecting Holt to the coastal village of Sheringham. Thursford with its Christmas Spectacular is eight miles away. We are well served in north Norfolk with the National Trust properties of Blickling Hall, Oxburgh Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park.
